Looking for a specific game

Heya. I remember seeing a game some time ago, a nation/civ simulator. I do remember, one of its major things was that you could swap cultures, ex. from ancient Greece you could become Rome when advancing in eras. So yeah, looking for this game. Hope it's a good place to ask such question

Our first game was announced, a minimalist Turn-based Tower Defense mixed with Resource Management! Excited to hear what you think!

New to genre, looking for something specific

Hello, im not sure this is right sub to ask this but i've wanted to try some strategy games. I've had expirience with Sim City, Civ 5, CK II, Rimworld and Stellaris but i'm not really that good at them. However i love aspects from each and wonder if there are any games that combine the era changing/long technology tree of Civ 5, upgrade and expansion aspect of City Builders, and Event system like Crusader Kings and Stellaris that allow for intresting decision making. Do you have any suggestions for something atleast similar to this?

Games similar to war game air land battle?

As the title says I’m curious if there are any other games like it. I’m a huge fan of strategy games and I just discovered this community so I figured I’d see if anyone had any suggestions

Need some good niche titles

I want some really niche and obscure titles to add to my wishlist or cart. I play everything from age of wonder, Victoria III to stellaris.

Also any really cool games coming out near end of year or early next year?

After 5 years of solo dev I'm real happy to have my roguelike/strategy game out on Steam!

Hello r/StrategyGames!

Very proud to announce Rogues Don't Cry is out on Steam now!

My name is Olivier, I'm a solo dev from Canada. Been working on my passion project which is inspired by games like Age of Wonders and tons of roguelikes like Crawl Soup and some RTS thrown in there.

The result is maybe a new genre, a quick pace roguelike with army building and real time combat. This is really an experimental game and I took a lot of risks making it! Especially since the difficulty is a bit high and it's aimed at experienced gamers.

Hope you try it and definitely leave feedback!

Oh yeah, it has the best graphics in the history of gaming, just so you know.

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2352820/Rogues_Dont_Cry/

⚔Features⚔

🗡 Total control of your units for pulling off some cheese tactics, with smart automation when needed

🗡 Every unit has their own experience, skills and equipment

🗡 Over 100 units and items as well as many objects to explore like dungeons and secret events

🗡 Heroes have many skills and can participate in battles

🗡 Some meta progression where you unlock new options (but not grindy)

🗡 Semi permadeath: if your whole army gets wiped you lose the game, but if you survive, you keep your "dead" units

🗡 Tough final battle where you need to make a plan and use your brains to win

The game is out now in EA!

I'll be happy to answer anything you have, so please feel free!

Cookie clicker but war

I'm looking for a game like cookie clicker where I can play for hours a day, or minuets a month, but with a war/combat theme and gameplay loop.

Ideally something like an RTS with SUPER long times (takes actual days to move troops and stuff) where I can play against a friend and have a war between us over the course of a few months to a year.

War Grids – Real-Time Strategy Game in Development! Latest Update - What do you think?

Hello, Reddit!
We’re currently working hard on War Grids, a real-time strategy game on a compact 7x7 grid that combines tactical planning with quick reactions. Thanks to your previous feedback, the game has evolved significantly – we appreciate everyone who’s been part of the journey so far!

Latest Updates:

  • Optimized Grid Layout & Starting Positions: Each player now starts in one of the four corners for a balanced gameplay experience.
  • Animated Troop Movements: Color-coded animations show troop transfers and attacks clearly between fields.
  • Increasing AI Difficulty: The AI opponent gets tougher with each unlocked level, starting with more troops and reacting faster.
  • Customizable Sound & Animation Settings: Music, sound effects, and animations can now be toggled on or off individually.
  • Intuitive Swipe Controls: Move troops and execute actions easily with swipe gestures.

We’d love for you to try out War Grids and share your thoughts! The game is still in development, so your feedback and ideas are especially valuable

New games to look out for?

I don't care much for rush your opponent style games just not my thing, I like taking my time and being able to build and defend my settlements, man the walls during a siege or attack them sorta thing.

I don't mind turn based, I really enjoy Total War but I like to take battles in real time and I figured there's probably something coming by now for this, I'm watching Manor Lords as I have since its announcement but I'm waiting to see if it allows the construction of mannable walls and sieges on a massive map in future.

Similar games

Recommend games similar to Infection free zone, factorio. Where I could manage my people, extract resources. Also, for example, capture some equipment or bases and decide their fate (disassemble for scrap metal or keep for yourself, for example)

New - Turn based Dota meets Guitar Hero

I’m working on Battle Beat Arena—it’s like Guitar Hero crashed a turn-based strategy party. You’ll jam out to crush enemies, control them after you win.

If you’re into winning and busting a move on your enemies’ graves (in that order), check it out. Heads up: the graphics might not melt your GPU (I’m working on it!), but trust me-the gameplay will keep you grooving and grinning.

Godsworn campaign gameplay. Seeing how it stacks up versus the AoM and Wc3 campaigns, the gold standard of RTS and the games that Godsworn feels like a bastard child of!

What was the first strategy game to have shift queuing?

So I am currently trying to get a mobile game I play to allow action queueing for some repetitive stuff where waiting for it to finish then doing the next one makes it take 50% longer, and had a random thought, what strategy game was the first to include shift queueing of actions? Anyone know?
