Stoner Rock is the fuzzed-out step-child of hard rock and heavy metal, often with hints of pyschedelic and blues rock as well as doom metal. Songs typically feature a bass-heavy groove, detuned guitars and mind-expanding lyrics (if there are any, that is).
What are the sub-genres of Stoner Rock?
Here are some other subs you might like:

Kinda like a list of albums that someone should hear to get deep into the subgenres, while still having the big classics, sorry if the question already got asked.
…at a stupid small venue in Saint Paul. Fucking stoked!
They’re sharing the stage with Supersuckers. Anyone know if they’re a good show?
This song was written by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac and was released May 1970. It reached #10 on the British charts and held for four consecutive weeks. Judas Priest covered it 1978, The Melvin’s in 1999, Therion in 2004, The Sonny Moorman Group in 2009, The Entrance band in 2012, Corrosion of Conformity in 2012, Kadavar in 2021, Lore in 2022 and Ian Mcnabb in 2024. He (peter Green)wrote this while losing his mind (quite literally) on LSD and believed the song to be about himself. My favorite version is the Judas Priest version since it was how I first heard it and was my favorite JP track. Green Manalishi has had one hell of a life and has been covered by some of my favorite bands that often get posted in this sub. There’s also a band named after this song. Thanks Peter!!
I'm trying to remember the name of a Portuguese stoner rock band I saw years ago in Prague, cz. I remember that at least two members of the band were girls, lead guitar and bass. Anyone has a clue? I guess they got somehow well known in the end.
Check out my band Keelrider form Iceland and our new single No Return!
Looking for some non abrasive playlist but still with stuff I like. That’s also playable at work. Thinking Kadavar, Kyuss, Red Fang, Soundgarden, Queens, Nirvana, Melvins maybe some YOB etc.. Preferably songs that’s not 10 min droning intros etc.

FFO: Alice In Chains, Kyuss, Clutch, Red Fang
King Buffalo's first two albums and Valley of the Kings by Egypt are the kind of vibe I'm looking for. Stoner rock, but a little more laid back, although it gets heavy at times. I don't like King Buffalo after the first 2 albums. Basically that chill, bluesy, but almost major key vibe is what I'm looking for. Dead Meadow is good, too, but the vocals are just ehhhhhhh
