Does anyone here have experience with a Monobloc for hunting? If so, please elaborate. Thank you.
I got lucky and found Steyr on the top of a chart listing bore axis (from least up) and purchased an L9 A2. Loved it so much I picked up the C9 and like it just as much. I was hoping by some miracle they would resurrect the .40 cal, especially to make it with the grip textures like the 9mm. Too much to hope for?
Which is the superior pup according to Reddit?
Could I bother yall to show me a pic of an L9A2MF with an X300 mounted on it? I just can't seem to find a pic anywhere.
Any idea if styer will be restocking on threaded barrels? Anyone know where they might be in stock? Dms welcome. Just really hoping to find one to finish this project and that's the last part I need.
Im stuck between getting the SSG08 an original SSG69 or the upcoming DMR. I have no clue which one to get.
Trying various ammo types (and different magazines) and grain and I get a failure to feed about 1 out of 10 or so.
I did have failure to eject issues as well on and off so I did the 1911 plunger spring hack and now I only am left with the failure to feed. The hack appears to have solved the ejection issues.
Has anyone else had consistent feed issues and solved them?
I just bought a Steyr L9 A2 and couldn’t be happier. I think it’s just a little large to CCW, but want to make one of the other models my carry. There’s only .5” difference in barrel length but I love the way the L9 shoots so much I’m concerned if I get the C9 that I might gain some snap and lose some of the smooth, horizontal recoil that makes the L9 a gem to shoot.
I found a good M9 price and was about to pull the trigger (pun intended) but thought I would check in and see if anyone has any compelling thoughts that would say just go with the C9 for CCW - probably someone that owns or has shot both, and can tell me if there is any noticeable difference. (Honestly if I could afford it and justify it I would just buy them both I like this gun so much). Any thoughts out there?
Been running this setup for a bit now, digging it!
Do your casings also get ejected in a high arc over your shoulder to the back, or is it just mine?
What do you guys think about the steyr stm556.
It looks great. The ETA for this rifle is for ca. Q2 2025 and pre-orders are accepted through this dealer.

I bought it some weeks ago for CHF 350. I didn't shoot it yet but I really love it
This is my Steyr THB .308 with unthreaded 20" barrel.
It took me 20 years to find an SSG 04 stock from someome that was selling it for some unknown reason. It cost me an arm and a leg, but am extremely happy with it.
Fortunately, I was able to migrate my extended magazine well for Steyr's 10 round magazines and a couple if thier buttstock spacers from the original stock to increase the length of pull.
Interestingly, I needed 4 spacers on the original stock, but only needed two on the SSG 04 stock, but that just means I've got a couple extras.
Besides a lack of adjustabilty of the original stock, the orginal stock had really weird sling loops that were not removable, thus didn't provide a standard stud for attaching a picatinny rail.
I wanted the rail to mount a bipod.
Using the standard swivel stud on the SSG 04 stock, as you can see in the pictue, I've mounted the UTG Full Bore bipod on a Accu-Tac Sling Stud Rail Adapter.
If you're unfamiliar with the UTG Full Bore bipod, it's absolutely amazing because it does not flex like all the others on the market, reguardless of price. So, for only $200, it was a bargain.
When you properly load it with your body weight on the firing line, it's the best option on the market.
I've topped it off with the BURRIS Eliminator III 4-16x50 X96 Ballistic Reticle Scope, which I think is a great piece of kit that carries a lifetine warranty that even covers fire and negligence.
I might eventually have the barrel threaded for my YHM Phantom 762 Titanium QD 5/8X24 supressor, but it's taken me 20 years to get it to this point due to other priorities.
I'm also thinking of adding a Accu-Shot Monopod to the rear sling swivel as my next little tweak.
Has anyone used this setup or have anything else that you think I should consider adding?
Bought the ammo thinking it was just some match grade .308 without realizing that there's an actual chamber difference. Quick google online says it just had a longer throat to reduce chamber pressures; I wouldn't want to subject my rifle (and face) to excessive chamber pressures if I can help it. Anybody know?
I've got some questions for owners of the Steyr THB in .308 if there are any here.
