I'm trying to find this interview as Stephen has commented on it being a situation where things suddenly "went south".
I can't find old episodes of the Colbert Report where I am -- they're not available on any streaming service for some reason. Do you all have any suggestions for where I might locate this episode?
Hello there,
me and my friend scored tickets for next week and we‘re wondering how things work for a taping. We‘re planning on showing up early to ensure we get in but according to the forecast it will be quite cold. Will we have to wait in front of the theatre until the show starts or do they hand out wristbands or something like that so we can wander off a bit and get warm? Thank you in advance!
I’ve been a die-hard Stephen Colbert fan since the early days on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Back then, Colbert was fearless, sharp, and unrelenting—a true master of satire who punched up at power, no matter where it came from. And when he moved on to The Colbert Report, he somehow became even better. He was a voice of reason cloaked in absurdity, and I admired him deeply for it.
But now, watching him on CBS, I can’t help but feel disappointed—like I’m seeing a hero sell out in slow motion. His recent takedown of RFK Jr. wasn’t the clever satire I used to expect from him. It felt lazy and corporate, like he was reading from Big Pharma’s script instead of holding any power accountable. And when you look at the numbers, it’s hard not to wonder why. In 2022, pharmaceutical companies spent over $8 billion on advertising, with TV as their biggest focus—and networks like CBS are raking in huge chunks of that cash. How can you be edgy when the people funding your show don’t want you to be?
This isn’t the Stephen Colbert I grew up respecting. He used to be bold, calling out hypocrisy and greed wherever he found it. Now, it feels like his comedy is restrained, designed to protect his advertisers rather than challenge them. And it breaks my heart, because I know what he’s capable of.
I just wish he’d go back to being the Colbert who didn’t care who he upset, as long as the truth got told.
Trump wants the mcds coverage to make you pay attention and forget how bad he is, because he knows us. To devote every night to him is a win. To y’all that can message or tweet the late nights, let them know to only talk about KAMALA if they want to beat trump. Stop showcasing his nonsense. I don’t have the profiles to, but y’all do. Go forth and send that out to stop talking about trump everyday.
www.WhatStephenReallyThinks.com ...is an actual website 😁!
Did you try it?
I love The Late Show and I watch it every day via YouTube with the monologue and interview clips. However I have never watched the show when it has been live before after major events, but the show will be live tomorrow after the vice presidential debate. But I live in Australia and we don't have CBS. We have Paramount+ where the full episodes get posted, but does Paramount+ livestream his show when they do a live show, or is there another way to watch it live in Australia that I don't know about?
Is there any way to watch episodes from the previous season? I have Paramount plus but I only see the current season on there.
E.D. Vance cracked me up!! Haha!
Will you be watching? 🔟🎉🥂
For the life of me I cannot find this clip. Please let me know that someone here has the Colbert Report clip where stephen makes the rhyme that ends with "Yemen, lemon, 9/11"
Curious Data Scientist here!
In the most recent Colbert Questionnaire with Billie Eilish, it has been canonized that Stephen is thinking the same number every time.
Knowing this, I decided to go back and rewatch every response. In watching these, a few parameters have been set:
With these things in mind, the answer must be one of the following: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, or 18.
All of these numbers have been guessed over time, and all but one has received a firm “no”.
!3!< has been guessed three times, and each time has received a response of “interesting” - the only time in all responses he does not say “no”.
Does anyone know when new episodes will air again? I hoping tonight (8/5/2024) but it doesn't look like it 😥.
I miss my Colbert!
