Did anybody else catch this just now?
Steven was interviewing Gayle King and Charles Barkley- and Gayle was telling Stephen that their show “King Charles” was the brainchild of (Former Colbert show exec producer and then fired CNN CEO) Chris Licht, and then she says something like, “You know him, he used to be here....” and he mutters quickly, “I’m not familiar”
OUCH!

I'd like to see the whole thing but can't find which one it's from. Thanks!
Epi search - Stephen mentions heaven
Ive been trying soooo hard to find the episode where at the end of the interview the interviewee asked Stephen what his thoughts on heaven were, or something about his thoughts on death/afterlife. But Stephen gave this really insightful answer. I know it’s vague but I’ve been trying to search for this little clip forever!
If remembering that part correctly, I remember Stephen was leaving his desk as part of the bit as he was giving his answer. or he was moving around or standing up while giving the answer.
Was SC too sick to go on tonight? He was supposed to be interviewing Rachel Maddow remotely. They showed a repeat instead.
Random videos will pop up on my YouTube algorithm of really insightful interviews Stephen has had with late night guests. I think the first one I saw was about grief with Andrew Garfield, then the recent one about ethics and good with John Mulaney. I saw in the comments on the John Mulaney video that he had a similar convo on grief with Anderson Cooper and am watching that now. Does he (or someone) have any kind of organized version of Stephen’s ~introspections? I love his comedy but these talks feel so special and allow me to think about myself in different ways. I know he had that podcast recently but I assumed it was a bit more lighthearted 😉
Thanks! Also always welcome to share your fav one off YouTube links
I'm struggling with lack of Colbert and there's so much going on.
How on earth are they going to catch up?
I'm guessing it's going to have to be a 'We didn't start the fire' Billy Joel style entrance to unpack everything.
Lorean Boebert, fake impeachment, so much to say.
How can make sense of everything without Stephen!
Please come back soon
Tonight on a repeat episode of SC’s late show, actress Janelle Monáe was a guest and was wearing a gorgeously revealing dress when she arrived.
Apparently the subtly visible underboob was too much for the censors, because after an advertising break, it was no longer visible.
I'll go first.
Today the former president floated the idea of skipping the GOP debates. "One source noted that Tr*** has said he wants to enjoy his summer “because it’s the last free summer [he’ll] have for a while,” anticipating a 2024 win."
Um...
I think the punch line writes itself.
Tr***'s Last Free Summer T-Shirts [with lock him up graphic of him behind bars] will be available in support of charities supporting justice at all levels, etc.
Late-night talk shows, including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, will go off-air starting on Tuesday after the writers agreed to strike. Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Daily Show will also be affected, while weekly shows such as Saturday Night Live, Real Time with Bill Maher, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver will be similarly impacted, with final decisions expected to come later in the week. Late-night shows are expected to pivot to re-runs, and writers are demanding fair compensation, including minimums for those working on “comedy variety programs made for new media.”
Anyone know why we’re not getting YouTube clips these past couple days?!
