I want to take my exam in last week of February what eligibility period should I select and please tell me if I take feb-April triad will I be able to appear for exam in feb end
Starting dedicated tomorrow. Exam is April 5. Planning on doing about 6 hours of anki and 8 hours of u world per day. I’ve been doing Anking more or less since M1 and have 6500+ cards in the review phase, ~800 in learning phase.
Not sure what the best way to break it up is or if I should just keep doing a mix of decks.
Also not sure how many new and review cards I should be aiming for daily. I am a chronic user with 518 day streak but my heat map says daily average is 200 reviews and the most I have done is usually around 500 in a day.
I had FSRS at 80% but raised it to 85%
Currently planning on breaking up content into three weeks Week 1: cardio, pulmonary, renal Week 2: neuro, GI, repro, endo Week 3: heme, msk/derm, micro, pharm, biochem, immuno, biostats/epi
Week 4-9: randomized Uworld blocks and practice exams
I’m still a student but I’ll be graduating soon and before the date of my exam so I’ll have my medical diploma before I give the exam.
So should I select yes or no in the first question mentioned in item 22?
I'm used to doing amboss during my med school, can I use it as my sole resource for step 1 instead of UW?
Greeting, I am looking to complete First Aid in next 30 days, daily 2 hrs, Central European Time zone, Please let me know if anyone interested Thank you!
Does internship in home country matter for MATCH? I've only done 6 months internship but we're required to do 12 months to get permanent license to practice medicine in our home country. I only could do 6 months since I had to visit USA for USCE.
How many months USCE is enough to get Matched? For 250+ step 2 score?
Exam is in end of March. I have exactly 52 days left.
I wasted 2 weeks with BNB, and I can't keep up with it because it's so dry. I feel restless studying with BNB and I’m not able to focus. I feel stupid for wasting 2 weeks. Should I switch to bootcamp? I tried one video and I liked it because it’s more interactive. I also printed their notes so I can just highlight.
Would it be possible to get through at least all systems in 4 weeks?
If anyone could tell me which sections in bootcamp are great, would really appreciate it
Weird question, but anyone here have an audio recorded version of fist aid for step 1, preferably divided by chapter?
I’m almost done with micro completely, and was thinking either I’ll start Pathoma alongside sketchy path (sketchy is love) and then move on to finishing the whole of bootcamp apart from micro since I’ve finished it already.
Or should I finish bootcamp first, and then do Pathoma since Pathoma is only pathology?
Step 1 Study Partner – FA + Mehlman (GMT+5) Morning sessions.
HI I’m looking for a study buddy to go through First Aid + Mehlman together. Trying to stay consistent, discuss high-yield stuff, and keep things efficient to complete within February
Hey Guys ! What’s your opinion about systemic review and meta analysis !? Which topic should I start first / which topic is burning topic now !! Is it to tough to continue SR & MA alongside with step-1 prep ? Give some feedbacks ! Who have research experience so that we can gain some knowledge! 🙏🏽🩵
Hi, I'm 1 MS planning to take step1 at about the end of my basic years. For now, I'm trying to integrate my usmle studies with the block I'm taking. My question is, is it a good approach to study the upcoming blocks during vacation (3 months), or should I study immunology, pathology.. etc.?
Hardest exam of my life
My physiology is pretty weak, so I was thinking of watching Physeo Physiology at 1.5–1.75x speed.
Would this be too much, or is it a good strategy to get through it for the exam?
Edit: I have about 7.5 weeks left for the exam
Non US IMG. Graduated 1 Year ago, working as house officer. Resources- FA Uworld (73% finished) NBME( 30- 73% 31- did only fifty questions-40 corrects/50) Did not have time for Free120 but i recommend you to do as the questions were long in real exam and i have heard that free120 also have long vignette and mimic real exam .( I ticked random option for about 10 Questions in real exam as i struggled to manage time)
Had to keep my resources limited because of time constraint. Skimmed FA initially(Which i had never read before ever). Then read it system wise with side by side uworld system wise. Used to do uworld immediately after finishing a system. Finished 100% uworld of basics(biochem, micr, patho, immuno ethics...) could not do all nbme as i felt that revision of FA at last weeks would be more effective to me than doing NBME. As NBME 30 was above 70% 6 days before exam, i thought i was already in comfortable position so focused on revision rather than doing other NBMEs. Did not have time to go through free 120. Felt like shit after examination. Took exam on 1/17. cv were too long and questions a bit harder than NBME. Passed 12 days later. My advice keep your resources simple and give revision priority. Make your study around FA and uword. Dont go for resources like mehlman as they are not comprehensive and will consume your time. Rather focus on doing FA as many times and flagged uwolrd question as many times. Dont just flag incorrects while doing uwolrd. Also flag the high yeild and conceptual questions so you won't miss them in revision.! Ethics, biostat, psychiatry, micro, reproendo were more asked in my set.
Can anyone explain this question please 😞😞
Well I've taken nbme 25 which I got around 52%. How bad it is in general? .I've 7 weeks maximum... I can't delay anymore. This was my first nbme.. How should i study from now on?
Our school only does NBME exams for preclinical. I know the cranial nerves and all their functions, including where they exit the skull. How hard should I go on the branches/nuclei of cranial nerves?
So much info
Hi! I have the 2023 First Aid but I wasn’t able to finish it. I’m planning to get Step 1 July-ish 2025, do you think should I have the 2025 First Aid or the 2023 edition will suffice? 2025 edition is still not out as far as I know.
I'm currently working through sketchy micro as the Bootcamp micro looked intimidatingly long.
Will I have all bases covered with just sketchy or should I go through Bootcamp as well? I'm an M1 with plenty of time?
Hey everybody! Currently trying to figure out which testing center to sit my step 2 in… I am in between Rome and Budapest. If anyone has experience in these testing centers, please tell me about your experience ! It will help a lot:)
I have been doing annotation in FA for a while now but each system is taking toooo much time. Now I'm struck with neurology for 8 days now, still 20 videos more to see. Additionally cardio reproductive infectious pharma these gaints segments are remaining. What am I doing wrong? Why is it take so much time for me to do annotation. I'm loosing my mind.
Conclusion - take breaks it’s good for you.
I don’t really have enough time to listen to bnb/bootcamp. So is it possible to pass with those sources ?
I'm an IMG and I will be finishing course in this foreign country. I plan to go back to my country & start taking all steps. Are there any documents, LORs (if yes, then from whom & how), or any material I should be collecting from here to increase my chances to get residency in USA. Please help me. I don't even know how to get LORs if you say that, guide me
I’m reading that recent exams have been pretty heavy on MSK, but the ones on NBME forms aren’t too bad.
But I heard the ones on the real exam are toughhh and confusing. What should one do to make sure they don’t miss the questions on MSK on the real deal without wasting too much time on other LY material?
Looking for a tutor? I'm an M4 with years of experience working with students one-on-one for both Step 1 & 2 (with a 100% pass rate) and would be happy to lend a hand! Feel free to shoot me a message if interested :)
Found out about this app (that sounded kinda sketchy at first), but now that I use it , it's pretty cool, it has got all the resources that one would need for step1, even step 2 as well, uworld, amboss, nbmes, kaplan, bnb, bootcamp, lectures, qbanks and the lastest ones , you name it and it has got it. And it's pretty cheap too, Ig 40$ for 6 months or something like that. Fully recommendedddd.
I’ve seen an overwhelming number of people say that Step 1 questions were vague, completely different from UWorld and NBME, and not high-yield. With only a few weeks left, this is starting to worry me.
What advice would you give to those of us still preparing for the exam?
