My earbuds connect but I get no sound, help?
My buds2pro have always connected well with my steam deck but it seems randomly it just stopped working.
It still connects, and i can hear the sound when it connects, but other than that no sound.
I checked desktop mode and it's connected but I don't get a sound there either... just the sound of me adjusting the volume.
Any help? Is this a bug with the new update? I even tried restarting and reconnecting my buds.
Hey everyone!
I picked up way of the Samurai 3 or 4 during the current sale.
I played way of Samurai 3 on my desktop and when I switched to my steam deck, it says the steam cloud is up to date & the 2nd pic shows 1.05mb stored.
But when I launch the game on my steam deck it shows no save files in game, and I can only start a new game.
I have tried launching the game in different proton versions with no success.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!!
I don't no what to do. It's like there website is glitching or some shit. I cant use the Steam deck untill i create an account. Stuck in a loop..What can I do?
if you're not messing with this stuff you're missing out on a ton of potential with the steam deck. Ive set menus to activate when I press one of my back buttons but it's especially helpful for games not optimized for controller.
for example Stardew (I know it has controller support), you're able to create a menu and set each action to be an item on the hotbar, so instead of doing it the normal controller method and pressing trigger buttons to scroll through items on the hotbar, these menus allow you set binds so you can basically select items instantly.
Sharing a trick I've used to add haptics to any input. Add an extra command mapped to "Cleared From Parent" in the Action Sets section. It does nothing by itself; in fact it's intended purpose is to let you remove commands that an action layer inherited from its parent action set.
You don't have to use it in an action layer, though, and what it does is allow you to set haptics independent of the actual command. In the "Cleared From Parent" command settings, simply set it Turbo, then select your desired Haptics Intensity and Repeat Rate.
Two main cases where I use this:
For the last 4 or so days, my deck has been kind of broken. I put on sleep mode whilst scrolling the Next Fest page on my PC because the Deck store sucks, and then when I tried to turn it on to download a demo, it didn’t turn on. I tried again and tried a lot of the obvious troubleshooting tests like booting into BIOS by pressing + as well as repeatedly pressing the power button for short and long periods of time. Nothing worked. Well I say nothing worked, but I got fans and haptics, just no screen or functionality.
I also looked up videos and Reddit posts for more ideas, like putting it into storage mode, and nothing I found worked. So I powered it off and went to sleep, hoping to try again tomorrow, and then came the spanner in the wrench. Tomorrow morning, it turned on normally, and then when I turned it back off it was broken again. Same thing the morning after. What’s going on, and can I fix it myself?
I can't listen music anymore when I click on a game icon. Is there a problem on plug in?
I deleted deckcord to try and reinstall it in deck loader but I can’t find it anymore. Anyone know what happened to it or where I can get it again?
Hello fellow steam deck gamers, recently got a dock for my steam deck. I'm currently playing overwatch but after one game sometimes the current game I get DC? Don't know why, but can anyone help with this issue? this would be very helpful
So I just downloaded the game after trying to find a good zombie game and when I open it either it’ll lock up on the saber load screen or on the main menu before I can do anything. I’ve tried changing proton compatibility, verifying files, uninstalling and reinstalling along with reverifying files. I’m totally lost because I’m not super tech savvy.
I bought Silent Hill 2 on my deck and it crush everytime…I know that is not verificated but I want to know if there is a trick or something to be able to play it…I already try to change protons but it last only for a while and then crash again, I saw other people on youtube play it with the console limits of course, I can ask a refound from steam but I want to try before, I really want to play this game. Thank you
Hi,
Protontricks is not detecting any of the games I’ve installed through NonSteamLaunchers. I don’t have this issue with other games. I know I could use Lutris’ Winetricks to do what Protontricks does, but Protontricks is much more convenient for me. What could be causing this problem?
Here are the solutions I’ve tried:
1)Even though my games are not installed on the SD card, I still tried:
flatpak override --user --filesystem=/run/media/mmcblk0p1 com.github.Matoking.protontricks
Didn’t work.
2)I installed Flatseal and manually added the compdata folder where the games are located.
Didn’t work.
3)I followed the steps on NonSteamLauncher’s GitHub page, completely removing everything and reinstalling the launcher and the games:
“•ProtonTricks is compatible with NonSteamLaunchers default installation (one prefix). This will add a NonSteamLaunchers shortcut in your library… this shortcut doesn’t do anything. All you have to do is simply “Hide this Game” in your Library. Right-click its properties and choose “Manage” > “Hide this Game”. You never have to worry about it again! If you were to open ProtonTricks to fix any game or launcher, it is now accessible!
•In case you didn’t know, you can also checkmark “Separate App IDs” when installing a launcher. This will install all launchers in their own prefixes, making them work automatically with ProtonTricks!”
Didn’t work.
4)I don’t think it’s related, but I had the same issue before I formatted my device. I recently did a clean reinstall via USB, and the issue is still present, just wanted to point that out.
Note: English is my second language. Thanks in advance!
Why I've these cutted sides on portable in some games but on TV they're perfect? I tried to change resolution but I still have this problem
Hello, i was wondering if anyone could point me in right direction to sort an issue I'm having. Everytime I try to load any of my games on my steam deck it won't start and I get the notification saying compatibility tool failed. Any tips to help tlfix this would be awesome! Thanks in advance!
Hi,
my Steam Deck basically replaced my old gaming PC and it's used almost exclusively in docked mode. I've noticed that sometimes when I boot it up nothing happens. The fan is running so it's clearly booted up but there's nothing on the screen, and when I disconnect it from the dock there's nothing on its screeen too. It's like it gets stuck between regular and docked mode and the screen doesn't work. The only solution I've found is to force power off and reboot again. Sometimes it works, sometimes I need to to this several times.
Did anybody experienced the same problem? How to solve it?
Thanks.
Mi steam deck solo carga hasta el 79 u 80 de bateria, alguien sabe a que se debe esto?
Im trying to install the witcher 3 mod manager. When opened a protontricks file explorer opens to look for the witcher3.exe. looking at the / drive in thw home folder the "deck" folder is missing. I'm assuming it's hidden and I can't for the life of me figure out how to unhide the file. I managed to get . (Dot) folders to show. Anyone know how to unhide the deck file?
I just got my 512 GB Deck and thinking through use cases for best way to utilize storage. I currently have an 18 TB external hard drive that I've had for awhile that has a massive collection of roms from a ton of different old consoles on it. I also bought a dock but I'm thinking my primary use case is not going to be docked but rather just handheld around the house.
With that said, does anyone have any recommendations or examples for how they handle having a much bigger collection of stuff than they have space for on the Deck? Selectively transfer roms from the big drive when I want to play them and remove if I need space? Buy micro SD cards and load them up with roms and just swap? Some way to gracefully use the external hard drive (I'm thinking not)?
The nice thing about the big drive is having everything there and available at once which is fine if you're sitting there at a computer, not as practical with the Deck. Minimizing copying files around would be nice but I'm open to any ideas.
