Hi. I have problem with god of war ragnarok on steam deck. After lunch I see black screen. Any ideas what should I do?

Installed brotato from steamrip, extracted it, and no what proton I open it with it reaches the "blobfish studios" screen and crashes. Not really related but I installed watchdogs 2 from dodi repack, and it says that the game should have all the DLCS but there's nothing.

I downloaded the latest version of Touhou Mystia’s Izakaya from cs.rin and it runs fine on my Windows 10 pc, but when I try to run it on the steamdeck (Adding as non steam game / via Lutris / right-click to run with Wine launcher) the game will open, but just displays this error popup before crashing.

I followed the guides on how to install dependencies, the cs.rin files include a Common Redist folder so I installed everything inside except for DirectX because the setup failed. I launched the game again and still nothing.

I tried installing the game using fitgirl’s repack but it also crashed in the same manner which is why I’m using the pre-installed version from cs rin.

I’ve used the guides to install and played multiple games multiple games before with no issue until now so I’m unfamiliar with the troubleshooting process. Is DirectX the problem? I also tried changing the proton versions but that didn’t work either.

Suddenly lost all save files for my "non-steam" games. This happened after i installed chiaki. Anybody who can help?

So every time I start the iso it freezes on the loading screen for a bit then crashes; I’ve tried it on vulkan, software, and openGL, tried reducing EE Cycle Rate, enabled MTVU and vsync, changed internal resolution to Native PS2…

Nothing has worked. I have def jam downloaded and it runs perfectly fine.

By just adding the setup.exe as a Non-Steam game and forcing Proton as the compatibility layer in the properties.

I'm just installing my first game, so I can't tell you about unpack speed, but it should be alright.

Hi all, I'm a complete newbie and got a deck as I heard it was really good for emulation, in particular switch games. I've had a look at a lot of guides and they are usually intentionally and understandably vague due to Nintendo's policies. However for a complete beginner like me, it's very difficult to know how to get it all set up and running. Are there any comprehensive guides that still exist going through everything step by step by any chance? Thanks

I didn't take any pictures but in many spots including the entire first cutscene and the move tutorial pop-ups it would show vhs color bars, I'm using proton experimental if that matters.

Hi, I’d like to buy a Steam Deck to also play games like FC 25, Fortnite, and Sparking Zero. I should mention that I’m a beginner. I’ve read the guide, but before all those steps and downloading the game from Fitgirl, do I need to install Wine on Linux desktop mode? Or should I just follow the guide step by step?

Title. I used the link from DODI and added RDR.exe, not PlayRDR.exe, through Lutris using the latest ProtonGE. The game runs well enough with some minor dips in FPS, but I can't get the HDR option to work properly since everything looks bland when it's on.

I bought the normal version of forza 4 and was wondering if unlocking the dlcs is possible, or are there gonna be some problems like authentication with Xboxlive

So I've been playing pario party superstars and Mario party jamboree with my friend, me with my PC Xbox controller and him with his PS5 controller. Today, out of nowhere, the game will let us play for a while, but will eventually freeze up after a mini game and no longer work when loading at the black screen before the results screen comes up.

Does anyone have any idea this started happening? I haven't updated anything or changed any settings at all.

One of the cool things about Linux is how software gets delivered. .deb and .rpm files were neat, but now we have flatpaks. A nice standard way to install software on any distribution.

What if there were a tool for building flatpaks for roms? I think this would also simplify distribution for weird ones like multi disk ps1 games and mame. Merged sets are a nightmare for anyone who actually wants to play games.

Then you could just port something like pkgi over to Linux and use that as a front end.

You could have a stripped down version of retroarch and just the core and the rom, and maybe a custom splash screen.

I’ve just recently come across trainers/cheats for games and I’ve been struggling to get it working on cracked games on lutris.

From what I’ve learned so far; I have created a .bat file to run the game.exe and the trainer.exe but I can’t seem to be able to launch both at the same time on windowed mode or game mode.

I have developer mode enabled and I’m on a stable version of the OS. I have cheat deck installed and my trainer.exe is in the same location as the game.exe. I followed a video guide for most of the process.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can someone show me how the save files look like with quacked games please I want to restore my steam deck but I don't want to lose my save files but I can't locate the folder for the save files

Installed on PC, network copied the install folder to Steam Deck as I always do, tried to run it with Lutris and keep getting errors. Anyone know any other packs for this game that work on the deck as fitgirl doesnt seem to or anyone know a fix on how to run the fitgirl version of GoW Ragnarok?

Having some problems with the performance of Mad Max on the deck. I've tried installing a fitgirl repack with proton and installing a GOG copy on my PC then transferring the files, both have ended up with similar poor performance compared to what it's supposed to be.

Just in case it was a hardware issue with my deck I purchased an official copy to compare and that runs locked at 60 with the same settings and same version of proton whereas the other two versions fluctuate between 40-50.

I've looked around and it seems like the general consensus is that pirated copies should have identical (if not better) performance to the official copies with very few exceptions. Have I just come across one of the exceptions or is there something I'm missing.

As you might see I'm indeed a day late unfortunately I had extreme migraine yesterday and couldn't get myself to write anything that made sense, that's why I delayed it to today.

Runs great on the deck, highly recommend checking out Grown Up Gamings video he shows the steam deck performance on different settings, game runs at a locked 40 on ultra without frame gen and around 70 with frame gen. Game is cracked by razor1911 I recommend using the DDL pre-installed, people seem to be having issues with the torrent download. Installation is just adding playrdr.exe to steam and using experimental

#4 Dragon age veilguard DRM.

This will be the first game in quite some time we've seen from EA that doesn't use denuvo, so we can expect it to be cracked quite fast. The game releases October 31st, this is a game I wasn't planning to play, but this could be good for the future, who knows, maybe EA will stop using denuvo. The bad news is that if you purchased the game on PC you won't be able to preload it.

#5 SteamOS update.

The SteamOS 3.6 update packs a lot y'all. You’ll notice a bit better performance, better battery life, and even smoother Bluetooth (AirPods work great now). Colors are sharper, and displays handle smoother with new Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support. When docked, HDMI CEC lets your TV control the Deck, and the LCD model now has more overclocking options.

Edit: thanks for pointing it out u/laytblu that there's inconsistent performance with steamos 3.6. It also broke decky recorder overlay and honkai railway performance.

#6 Proton-GE 9-16

The new GE-Proton 9-16 update brings mod support to Bethesda games like Starfield, Skyrim, and Fallout 4, which should make adding mods a lot easier. This version also has fixes for certain EA Play games, improvements for Street Fighter 6, and several stability tweaks for smoother gameplay across the board.

The original re4 opens for one second, shows fps, then closes instantly. Is there any way to fix this? I searched on protondb and only one person had this issue, but it doesn’t seem like they found a solution

Following the guide doesn’t work, I got through yet process but steam popped up the download page and told me to buy the game, heroic doesn’t work and I’m out of patience to try lutris.
