Lots of options out there. I do really like the one it came with. That Velcro front that feels secure even if I don't zip it is awesome! I work about when I'm holding it/playing it/passing it to another player. Mainly the last thing.
What is the best for the money option to prevent drop damage or a cracked screen?
After a small launcher install the game boots into a shader compilation step which is a big positive, it defaults to high settings which will get you anywhere from 60-90fps on the OLED, I left settings at high, enabled contact hardening shadows and changed FSR3 to native AA for a very clean look. This is running at a locked 45fps in the introduction areas, with a fair a bit of headroom
All in all this Will seemingly provide the definitive experience for the original Red Dead Redemption, despite the high price!
HDR also works beautifully here, it doesn't wash out the colours and seems to provide a correct exposure balance between the skybox and ground areas, the HDR calibration option is actually helpful here too providing a day and night scene to calibrate against.
I moved to new building and the WiFi is working with all my others devices but as soon as I’m connecting my steam deck with this WiFi it’s keep disconnecting! Anyone who can help me with this issue?
Only thing work is set tdp to 10, but for example the resolution dont make difference to me in 480p or 720p. The temperature is always about 75°
I was playing horizon zero dawn and for some reason it turns off and I couldn't get it to turn back on? Does anybody know how to fix this?
I only have one specific example, and when I boot up a game demo called SAND (not deck verified) it crashes on loading screen heading into game.
Now I definitely understand some games may not work and such, I don't mind. I just want to know if there's a way to either A: Find out what caused it to crash specifically upon next boot up, or B: Have it force close the game instead of crashing and tell me why?
I'm a complete noob when it comes to this, I can build a PC, but only because someone has done it before and has a guide on how to do it and what software to get. I know I'm in uncharted territory but if I could get this to work that would be amazing. Or even have it crash and reboot instantly without me waiting like 3 minutes thinking it might be loading. Lol.
Thank you all!
Google and went to other related forums because my steam deck Xbox controllers stopped working and now it’s called “pro controller “ and doesn’t pair or work.
I’ve bought 3 controllers and even used it at my friend and doesn’t work. Please help me?
Hello fellow steam deck gamers, recently got a dock for my steam deck. I'm currently playing overwatch but after one game sometimes the current game I get DC? Don't know why, but can anyone help with this issue? this would be very helpful
I have tried everything to get this thing to be stable and it just absolutely crashes constantly. Is there a specific proton I should be running? Or is it something else.
I'm considering this case for my deck because I have a custom shell I don't want to hide but I still want the protection of a hard shell,
opinions? better suggetions?
Hi,
my Steam Deck basically replaced my old gaming PC and it's used almost exclusively in docked mode. I've noticed that sometimes when I boot it up nothing happens. The fan is running so it's clearly booted up but there's nothing on the screen, and when I disconnect it from the dock there's nothing on its screeen too. It's like it gets stuck between regular and docked mode and the screen doesn't work. The only solution I've found is to force power off and reboot again. Sometimes it works, sometimes I need to to this several times.
Did anybody experienced the same problem? How to solve it?
Thanks.
This happened after an update. Pressing any of the options just gives me another error.
How long dose it take for the steam deck to arrive I live in Ireland and it's say it's coming from the Netherlands?
I'll explain step by step how to easily set up Windows on Steam Deck.
I made this guide because I didn't find any good ones for the Steam Deck OLED. But it also works for the LCD.
Feel free to ask any questions.
I am a brand new beginner with using a steam deck, and I have it casted to my TV and want to use a controller, and I am so intimidated with how to do that. How do you switch controllers? I am totally lost and maybe I’m making this way harder than it needs to be and maybe I’m asking a really stupid question but I need someone to humor me please. Thank you so much wise ones.😳
PS is this even the right place to ask this question?
I've bought some digital copies of Xbox titles from the Xbox market place like Conker Live and Reloaded and Blinx. I don't use an Xbox Game Pass for obvious reasons.
I've also owned a PS5 with digital copies and physical copies of PS4 and PS5 games.
I was thinking of selling my PS4 console because I have the PS5 now. I want to be a gaming minimalist as well.
So I was getting emudeck setup and transferring roms onto my steamdeck when I kept noticing the steamdeck screen would dim too often, I wanted it to stay on so I could monitor the progress and paste another file when it was done. However I went into the display settings and didnt know what I was doing clicking the resolution at 2150 x 160 horizontal (or something I cant remember the exact) and now when I try to boot into desktop mode the screen is forever black.
I've tested the performance of various graphical settings for EA SPORTS FC 25 on the Steam Deck OLED, and here are my findings:
Overall, the game runs very good on the Steam Deck. However, EA Anti Cheat prevents you to play the game under SteamOS.
Since the game runs nearly the same no matter the settings I recommend playing on Ultra settings for the best experience. If you want to conserve battery life, you should play on the Low settings with a locked 30 FPS.
What are your thoughts? Has anyone else played EA SPORTS FC 25 on the Steam Deck? If so, what graphical settings did you use?
Feel free to ask any questions.
Hey, So I started playing Death Stranding on my steam deck but it seems that the audio on the cutscenes are out of sync and the audio quality has a tendency to lag and drop. Is there any suggestions on how I may fix this? I have a Mac laptop as well so if there’s something I need to download to fix this I can try.
I'm wondering what exactly could a steam deck run? I'm not someone interested in ultra or even high graphics settings so long as everything is running smooth I'm happy, I am currently saving to get one just want to know what the limitations will be?
So I a LCD Steam Deck and have been using it more as I have a job that requires travel. I've never tried to mod it, and don't want to. Whenever I start it up, the boot menu (or at least that's what I'm calling it) comes up (see photo). I've done a factory reset on it. Same issue.
Secondly, it won't apply any updates. Says it does but won't. It just downloads, applies, ask for a restart, and then it just does the same thing.
I'm not sure how to fix any of this.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I am buying a Steamdeck OLED and I see two of the most common upgrades are to the SSD and joysticks.
It seems the stock SSD has a 530mb/sec read speed but upgraded drives are at 6000mb/sec.
As far as uograding the joysticks, there were benefits to reduce float and more precise positioning.
Has anyone done either or both of the upgrades and was the improvement worth
Thanks
Im very late to the Steamdeck party but thought I would try one. Here are two questions I have.
Example: I already bought Eldenring through Steam on my PC. Would I have to buy the full title again to play on the steam deck? Would my saved game be available on the Steamdeck?
Thanks for your answers!
Hi,
I did some research online and tried to do what people recommended, which is:
restart the Steam Deck
restart the Steam Deck in desktop mode
disable/enable wi-fi
using my phone as an hot spot
Nothing works and I don't know what to do. I can connect to my wi-fi or phone without problems, but as soon as I launch Steam or restart my Steam Deck the problem is still there. I'm currently using my SD offline, everything works but it's not really a solution. On my Windows PC everything works, as well as logging in from the Steam website.
How do I solve the problem? What can I do to avoid it in the future?
I absolutely love my SD and Steam OS, but this is probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life. Not even Windows fucked up this bad, really.
