I found it to be the perfect game, very good story, charismatic characters where everyone participates in the dialogues, beautiful graphics, very good music and best of all, the gameplay is hilarious, it also encourages you to explore and they guide you correctly without putting it easy but not ridiculous. The incredible post Game encourages you to keep going and going, and the coliseum on maximum difficulty in the latest patch is a total challenge. I had a perfect time with this one.

Are there more games similar to this one? I have done all of the tales of myself as well and some YS.

Since the Star Ocean games take place over a period of centuries, we often bump into the descendants or ancestors/distant relatives of the heroes and heroines of one game in others, most notably the various members of the Kenny family. Another example is Sarah in the Last Hope being the paternal aunt or great aunt of Ioshua and Erys in First Departure, and Eleyna and >!Crowe!< being the ancestors of Roddick, the original game's protagonist.

While we don't meet any of Leon's descendants in Til the End of Time, Sophia mentions being a fan of a "Dr Leon", speculated for many years to be Leon, until Anamnesis finally confirmed this is as fact.

Anyway. I was reading the ingame dictionary entry for Expel in TTEOT, and it mentions the current prime minister of the planet is a woman called Eleanor T Krosse.

For those who have played Second Story, you'll remember Celine is having a... complicated romance with the prince of the kingdom of Krosse, Clauzer Krosse, and in some endings of the game they will actually marry (though they haven't tied the knot in Blue Sphere, two years later, >!but in the ending of Blue Sphere they finally get married!<.)

I took Eleanor's last name to indicate that she is the descendant/400 years worth of greats granddaughter of Clauzer and Celine.

You know that it has been difficult for me because I have played in English and it is not my language. I haven't used any of the item invention. I have played in galaxy and I was able to beat the final boss the second time (it was hard but with the items that recover MP I never had to use items to overcome the last two dungeons)

Now what remains for me. Due to lack of time and family burdens, I have used a guide to skip (until finishing the game) the secondary content and it has helped in:

Do not go to the optional dungeon of the Mossel ruins that opens a Golem (I did half of it) And also, although I think the game didn't go well for me there (PS5 Port), I got the skull.

I know you told me to use a guide for all the puzzles but I refused. The firewall was difficult for me and thank goodness the guide took me out of the optional Mossel ruins.

Since I was going fast in the circus I didn't buy those top weapons for the characters, I finished the game with Fayt's holy sword...

I know this fully timed game would have required less guidance. But that's how I've been through it. I've been playing RPG since 1995 but this one has been very hard for me.

PS: I wish in Mossel I had gone straight down the stairs on the right, that dungeon seemed to be difficult.

The enemies here are way too tough. Is there some part of the game I missed? I did not recruit Ashton or Opera, is it still possible to go back and get one of them?

starting a new file and it had me "select a memory card and file" but it forced me to choose one of my old save file, i couldn't just choose "memory card 1", which is where i know all my Battle Trophy data is.

is that ok? will i still make progress towards maxing out all 300 trophies? my old files are from before covid so i don't remember how the file mechanics work too well

The gameplay trailer looked absolutely amazing, the graphics and world looked beautiful and the combat and exploration looked fantastic....

So why the hell is the game seemingly panned/has mixed reception?

Candidates are Fidel, Ashley, Cyuss, Claude, Roddick, Dias, etc.

Fayt is very powerful but I would say he's a bit shabby in the pure skill department. Roddick has potential to take the top spot considering even without Ashlay's training he can beat Cyuss in a one-on-one fight. Yes I know he can lose but I imagine as we are the one playing it's likely canon that we won the fight. With Ashlay training he's a beast.

Ashlay himself could take the top spot, dude gives me hardcore Frog from Chrono Trigger vibes. I don't know why but something just tells me that the Second Story guys like Dias and Claude aren't AS skilled as First Departure guys (even if I'd argue that Second Story party absolutely destroys First Departure guys.)

Roddick and his party have explicitly fought against a character said to be the most skilled fighter in the world (Crimson Shield) so idk.

I already finished the game. And here are some questions that. I understood it very well.

Since I came to the sphere, because of the language, I have not understood the story well. Is there supposed to be a computer creator who created galaxies? And what are all programs?

So these Fayt programs want to prevent Luther from being a person? Does this mean my favorite SO2 was a program? and what is achieved by defeating Luther is that programs can become people?. And who really are the people of the sphere, the real humans?

Like the title says I'm doing a new play through of Second Story and I want to play as Celine the entire game. I usually have her benched so I'm not really sure how to get the most out of her. What are some strategies, accessories, and party compositions you recommend I use?

I've been trying to dabble in the game's advanced mechanics like skills and crafting and I'm so confused. I tried cooking with Rena, but for some reason I can't use any of the fish I've caught. Is this something you have to unlock?

I know SO 3 is currently the "latest" entry in the timeline. But because there was no Kenny in SO3 do you think if they ever make SO 7 or a game that goes past SD 772, there will be another Kenny? I'm sure back when they made SO3, the thought was, its 400+ years in the future compared to SO2 and they wanted to tell a new story. I myself just got done playing The Divine Force and had a blast.

!The research staff assumes that the Psynard must have rejected Claude's data due to him being non-Nedian. However, it only loses control after Rena's data entry. Moreover, the director doesn't address the staff's theory. He even refuses to answer when the main character asks him directly. Is the implication that Rena's data caused the Psynard to lose control? And if so, why?!<

Hey, all. Wondering which game or games would be the most fun and easiest for a magic/mages only run. I’d probably only do base game.

I’d play by using only magic and magic casting once those characters are available. (Like only playing by the rules once I reach the waterways in Airyglyph in SO3 with Nell).

Does anyone know where I can obtain a Rune Cap? It’s the helmet that reduces MP usage by 33%. I’m at the point in the story where Ive reached the Hoffman Ruins, but I can’t seem to find it. I had obtained it during my previous playthough at this point, but I’ve pickpocketed nearly every NPC to my knowledge. I’m pretty lost as there’s no info online about its whereabouts either

I know you get to choose between Claude and Rena when you start the game, and I wanted to know which character is better for a first-time player. I know that some party members you can recruit are different depending on who you choose. Also, do you have to play the first Star Ocean in order to understand SO2?

What happens when I go to surferios instead of going to Aquaria I take the grotto north of surferios? There is a girl who tells me something strange but the game is in English and I don't understand well, she lets me in anyway. Can I get to Aquaria through here? Since it is the path that seemed correct to me or will it be impossible for me? I already know that there is a direct route to the north of Peterni, but to explore... you would like to get there.

I had a joy with the remaster and finally 100%ed it but im returning to the OG because I want to 100% all my favorite tri-ace games on retroachievements. I originally played the psx game back in highschool but only beat it on regular difficulty.

If im going to try an optimal run of universe later on in the original game what party/characters do you think are the best? I figure my first time ill for lower difficulty ill just do whatever but I have a feeling universe will be harder than SO2R due to a lack of gear factors. Also not allowed to do the bloody armor trick for the secret bosses in the RA set.

Hello, as you know my language is not Spanish and I am playing SO3, because of the language and not having the manual in my language I am afraid of getting stuck somewhere in the game because of this, as happened to me in airgliph with ice , I knew how to walk slowly but not how, I looked it up on Google, it's not like looking at a guide but I still don't feel good because I like to play the games by myself.

It's a game where they don't tell you where to go and I'm writing it down as my main objective but it's true that there are open areas that kill me very quickly and that's why I'm not going for the moment. I'm in Aria. I'm doing well in the fights at the moment.

Playing through SO4 for the first time and JUST beat the phantoms in Aeos holy shit wtf was tri Ace thinking with this fight?! Going into it blind will get your ass hand tossed around like a pizza

One of the only times I had to grind for a boss in these games that’s not a post game boss(other then Crosell in 3)

I had got anti stun emblems for the whole squad and I didn’t realize some of them are only really damaged by symbology after a few deaths so I couldn’t hammer at them with Edge or Miracle the whole time
