I played through back on the PS1 and just recently bought the Star Ocean 2 R version on the Playstation. Got a couple questions.

1. What exactly does New Game Plus do?
2. I plan to do 2 playthroughs as each main char. Though I did Claude back on the PS version, I plan to start with him again as I want to try Bowman, Opera, and Earnest who I never had back on that version. I was thinking of doing them both basically at the same time in 2 save files. Is there any reason NOT to go this route?
3. I don't want to miss any characters or exclusive skills. I don't care about ever pair getting every ending as I only plan 2 playthroughs. Does the below recruitment order look ok so I don't miss anyone nor miss any important skills (Precis needs Ashton, Welch needs Precis, are there others?)
4. Any recommendations on talents on characters that I should re-roll if I don't get? I know nimble fingers for the main char--anything else that's worth a re-roll? Or should I at least aim for 4/5/some other number and re-roll if I don't have at least that many?
5. Any other important things I need to know that are different? I know about Raid bosses for example. Should these be avoided as they make the game too easy or any other opinions?

So I’m in my first time playing through star ocean second story r and I am at phynal ending and have Claude, Rena, Celine, Leon, bowman, and Noel in my party and the levels range from 77 to 85 and I just saw today that I missed a whole lot of party members and haven’t really done much crafting. I’m wondering how screwed I am going to be for the last 3 boss fights (I have the last 4 “ten wise men” left) here and if I should keep going or do the unthinkable and start over and get everyone I can and build up better from the start. I’m also playing on earth difficulty and these boss fights r a pain in the butt to do and even still hard. If I could get some help and advice from yall that would be much appreciated

Name the worst explorable planet in the series. Consider multiple factors, whether it be the geography of the planet, the enemy encounters, the lack of visual appeal, the movement of the lead character, things of that nature. I'm excluding Planet Styx for obvious reasons. Be clear & honest.

Anyone know if it’s possible to transfer game data between consoles? I used to play SO4 on my Xbox, but I don’t really play online games much anymore and I really wanted to play SO3 so I traded out my Xbox for a PS5. I dumped at least 140ish hours into SO4 on my Xbox (which didn’t feel that much all things considered) but I’d still like to not have to start fresh if it can be helped. Thoughts? Answers? My guess is no, but I don’t really know

So I just beat the EQ and was planning on recruiting Albel next. I already have Roger in my party and declined Peppita. I was trying to set up this play through to get the BTs for beating Nel and Peppita so I could keep both of them for my final play through. Am I screwed now? I tried taking to Count Woltar after I fought EQ and Albel wasn’t there. Maybe sleeping at the inn in Ptereny might help?

So I’ve been playing SO3 on my PS5 for a few weeks now and I’m already at roughly 82% for the battle trophy collection, but the game has randomly crashed 4 different times across my two play-throughs (I think roughly 145 hours in total so far). Once in Duggus Forest, twice in the Shrine of Kaddan and once in the Sphere 211 Company while leveling this morning. So my concern is that when I try and do the battle trophy for getting a chain of 500 it just randomly crash. I want to know if anyone has surly completed this BT on a digital copy on a PS5 specifically? I’m a pretty hardcore completionist and I have more goals than just all the BTs and trophies for this game in store for my 4D play-through

It's as the question says how much faster is Gravitic Warp.

I know the equation for Subspace warp is 2N-1 time the distance traveled by light in normal space but what's Gravitic Warp of has it never been answered? Also how do type Subspace warp equation into a calculator anyone know?

Good evening ! My character is level 10 in alchemy, I have the “flask lizard”, but I do NOT have the “thing of mana” talent (none of my 3 characters have it.

I just want to craft 2 philosopher's stones to have enough to buy the trumpet and upgrade my characters but I'm making NONE! Is talent obligatory or should I insist?

On my first game, with the talent, I had about 4 by 20 “Iron”. There, ZERO.

So I just started playing second evolution on my psp(yeah I’m late to the party) and have been loving it but I can only play every now and again and can’t seem to find a quest log or journal. Am I missing it or is there not one? After a few days away it is hard to remember what I needed to do when I saved last. Am I missing the obvious or is there no log?

I’m playing Star Ocean: Till the End of Time and I’m grinding out the last few BTs before starting my universe play through but I’m kinda struggling with some of these oddball BTs like this one. My question is, what item setup did you go with and where did you go to attempt it?

I’m currently trying to do it with my level 32 Nel against Freya. The current setup I have is Weapon: laser weapon that has 4 orichalcum with+500 attack and of course the second factor of surviving on fury 50% of the time synthesized to it and two refined green Talismans.

I saw someone do it with a low Peppita against Freya so I know it can be done with a low level character vs Freya. The only thing I don’t understand is why his chance of surviving on fury was activating so much compared to mine? I wonder if synthesizing 8 refined green Talismans and having 2 extra equipped is better? Also my only thought is that because his Peppita was level 1, he hadn’t invested any skill points into defense yet so idk if that makes a difference as well? Thoughts? I’m open to lots of suggestions and discussion

I’ve recently started back the Star Ocean series, about to start over Till The End Of Time and beat each game in order. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on which game stands out as the best in the franchise. Each title seems to have its strengths and unique features, so I’d love to get some opinions from longtime fans.

A few specific things I’m wondering: 1. Which game has the best story and character development? 2. How does the combat system evolve across the series, and which entry does it best? 3. Are there any particular games that excel in world-building or exploration?

I’ve been thoroughly replaying SO3 in an effort to compile every bit of hidden depth & tricks/gameplay strategy in order to make it easier for future (and returning) players like myself who want to get the most out of the game for the first time/again after many years since it launched 20 years ago.

I’ve gotten down plenty of easy tips & tricks to make grinding Battle skills/Symbols effortless and wring out the most of it while not playing it (but using a Turbo Controller instead to play the monotonous stuff)…except one major thing I’m going crazy trying to figure out:

• How do I get Maria, Sophia, and Adray to actively use the support Symbols “Protection” and “Reflection” as opposed to just using Angel Feather?

I’ve tried changing certain Tactics settings, spamming them over 100x with each character in one battle, and entering battles w/o armor of any kind to see if they’ll bite…and so far? NOTHING!

Who here knows how to get it working on Earth, Galaxy and Universe difficulties? They use it semi-regularly in my current 4D playthrough, but rarely on Universe (and NEVER below that)!

If anyone here has seen them use it on a whim, in what scenarios did they use it?

If anyone knows…please share so I can add it to my list of Tips/Tricks and I’ll even credit you with it once the SO3 Master Guide (2025) is completed!

I just started this game and I am confused and I am hoping you guys can share tips and tricks and help with few questions

1. What's are the tricks to fighting? I have to visit town every 2-3 fights. And should I keep spamming skills or is it good to attack normal as well?

2. How do I know what levels are enemies? To make sure I am getting good exp/fol per enemies?

3. I am running out of mp in 1 fight. Is this normal?

Wondering is the 2nd game standalone story or do I have to play the 1st game first to get and enjoy the story

When I visit the website (sonys psn store) I can see it here over the Swedish section for psn and they charge 200 kr (... that is like 20 USD) for it. but when I start up my ps5 there is no psn store to buy it from with in. When I "search" star ocean over psn store I get every game up there beside it, yes, star ocean 1,2,4,5 and 6.

Is it tied to a ps4 psn store? do I need a certain psn subscription? do I need to buy it over the webstore?

I dont get it.

Would be cool to have star ocean 1-6 on my ps5 but without 3 :S even planned to buy the strategy guide for it.

I own Star Ocean 1-6 physically but missing the third as a digital- it bothers me :)

I’ve just started The divine force and I’m struggling to find decent builds for each character. I’ve absolutely loved all the other games but I feel this one is slightly different to the rest. The fact you can’t respect your SP abilities is very annoying.

Any help on builds would be highly appreciated and where to spend my SP. I’m thinking of using Malkya as my main.

Playing on easy, didn't do side quests, didn't do crafting. Was fine until I got to the fused Remington boss.

I know I have to deplete the va Guage. But really struggling to pull it off. I really don't want to grind. Any tips to get through this? I basically used the same combo for the entire game, so I really have no clue what else to do.

Nothing exciting. Just defeated Shelby at the Kirlsa Training Facility.

I sold most of the items up until the Kirlsa Caves, including a 1/144 scale bunny. So I could buy the Holy Sword.

Keeping Cliff out of the party to save him for the Defeat Luther at Lvl 10 trophy

Hi everyone, ok so it been an age since I played Star Ocean First Departure and I've become a little confused on the skills that boost your stats "Per Level".

Currently am under the belief it means "Per Level" of "Skill"... so when you invest 1 level of Knife that boosts your strength by 10 Per Skill Level, so invest in all 10 levels you get an extra 100 stats of strength... that is correct right?

Because it can't have anything to do with per character level, I mean this game has a level cap 255. That would be an insane boost.
