Just wanted to wish a happy Star Trek day to the part of the fandom that was around when Adversaries was online and active, and I hope you're all doing well.
LLAP
It's been about two and a half years since the game was shut down, and there's no sign of that being undone at any point unfortunately. Looking at where the franchise is now as opposed to where it was in early 2019, it's disappointing to think of all the missed opportunities for cards that could've been.
We'd just started to see Discovery added, but there was nothing from Lower Decks or Picard, and now we're also going to have Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, and that's not even including the Section 31 show that was announced and then tabled for an undetermined future date. So much potential for amazing cards, new abilities, new gameplay, and so much fun.
We had a great community of players, and even though the game is gone and the sub isn't active anymore, I just wanted to post a small remembrance and a thank you to everyone who hung around while PMG tried to make this a game that would endure. Seeing some of the other Star Trek branded games right now that are stale and nothing but the same daily grind, I really wish Adversaries could've made it.
So I'm currently trying to rebuild Star Trek Adversaries to play on TableTop Simulator on Steam. Hopefully people who were a fan of the game and spent money buying lots of card packs will get a chance to play it again (although without all the nice ship models and special effects).
My current plan is to rebuild it as an older version when Disable was still a mechanic on many cards. All these cards were changed to do other things, as they planned to make Disable a core mechanic of the Romulan's for the expansion it seems.
The other option would be to make the game exactly like it was when it got shutdown then try to add Romulans and Disable in later. If I went with this route though I would need community help as we would have to design the Romulan ships and cards ourselves.
Let me know if your interested and have any feelings either way, aiming to go with the first option because I don't think I could make a balanced Romulan deck myself and I really enjoyed the disable mechanic.
That is all.
Whenever I try to log in, it says there was a server error. How can I fix this?
By far the most time I spent playing a game on my iPhone, sometimes late into the night! I stopped playing when the Romulan expansion was delayed as the game become a little stale ... and I had several competitive decks. I would still log on occasionally for a pick up game but, as others have noted, it would take an increasing amount of time to find an opponent or after 10-15 minutes I would give up.
I bought many many Star Trek games over the years. You know a couple of the difference between them and this game?
I paid a chunk of change upfront to own the game. Also I can still play those games... Including a DOS version of Judgement Rights from 25+ years ago.
Could this game have survived with an upfront fee, cosmetics only store, earned advancement, and none of this "game as a service" cancer? We'll never know.
Fuck the state of gaming. Another fun game bites the dust.
So what games can we use to fill this void? I've got Elder Scrolls Legends filling the CCG side but I don't have a decent Star Trek game going now.
If anybody has images of the following cards:-
Beverly Crusher
Data
Deanna Troi
Geordi
Guinan
Katherine Pulaski

They need to be quite big so that I can edit them!

Thank you
I'm curious if anyone has tried yet. I know when Marvel Heroes went down, Steam did a bunch of refunds on in-app purchases. Considering this game never left early access, and they were pretending everything was fine until the 12th, I wonder if Steam would do the same. This whole thing seems like it was a scam.
Is there any pattern to when your cards are returned to your deck while retreating and when they just disappear?
It was a fun ride while it lasted. I've been waiting for months now for the update to come through. At first I thought it was just a few problems but now you can tell there is a very severe issue with the game that is not letting the developer progress with the game. Without knowing the inside story, all I can say is: I've seen this happen to too many good games. It's always sad when you see the community slowly diminish and the developer acts like everything is fine up to the very moment the game shuts down.
All good things must come to an end.
The lack of posts here is disturbing.

...you're pretty sure you're losing. You're doing your best to make life miserable for the other player, but you have no good cards left in your hand, and you're half a turn away from giving it up as a bad job, hitting "concede," and looking for another game in which you won't suck so much...
...and suddenly your screen goes all VICTORY, as the other schmuck just conceded.
How many of you out there have experienced that feeling? :)
The expansion was not released and the devs made no announcements. Now the game was removed from the App stores and the devs also made no announcements. Seems like the game is being shut down.
But the shop apparently the shop is still working for in-app purchases. Seems quite unethical to let people spend money if they are shutting the game down. An official announcement would be very helpful.
I find this quite sad. IMO, the game is very nice, the best Star Trek I have played, very FTP friendly. I wish I am wrong and they will announce the game coming back to App stores with the expansion soon. But I think I am right and they will just cancel it.
I couldn't find anywhere with card counts listed, so I clicked Replicator in the deck builder and counted the cards of each rarity. As I would expect, there is a downward progression from Common to Epic (56 Common, 43 Rare, 34 Epic).
When I came to Legendaries, I was caught off guard. I counted 89. There are more Legendaries than Common cards, yet Legendaries are many times harder to collect. Why are there so many Legendaries?
I had an opponent use the special, retreat it, and bring back in a ship that does one extra damage with haste. What's the energy cost of that "free" ship the NX class gets?
First, I would do away with the turn timer completely. I'm playing against an AI. Why does it matter how long I take on my turn?
Second, I would really like a way to save a game and resume it later. Some of the games especially against Borg opponents can last pretty long. If I only have a few minutes to play, I'd love to be able to start a match, play for a few minutes, save it, and then return to it later.
I also play Ascension on my phone quite a bit. It's a deckbuilder instead of a CCG but I'd imagine similar to implement. Ascension has the ability to save an in-progress game and resume it later.
I know DarkHeraldMage that you can't say when precisely the update is coming out but it would be good if you could give us an approx. date, like will it be near Thanksgiving, near Hanukkah, near Christmas, near Kwanzaa, near New Year's, near Valentine's Day, or near St. Patrick's Day? I guess the players can also guess if no answer is available. We missed Halloween but maybe one of these other holidays will be lucky.
I've been playing with the Miranda lately. I think I'm doing pretty well, but I'm curious if I could do better.
I tried using Counselor Troi, but I needed a better heal so dropped her for Guinan. And I had Saru but dropped him for Kes because I wanted the benefits of the point discount and getting the cards before I retreated.
Are there any particular areas that could be improved?

Would be great if each day or couple days we could get a look at one of the new cards in the romulan update. The cards that are done and stats wont change before release. Then we could have something to look at, talk about, and look forward to. I know it would help me to stay excited and patient. You could even release them with a disclaimer saying that "these cards could still be subject to change."
We used to get a reset every week and now we go very long periods without a reset. What gives? Why can we not have a weekly or every other week reset or a reset schedule that is consistent? Inconsistency kills games. I wish for this game to continue for a long time. Can we get back to a schedule we can depend upon? The longer without reset the longer it takes to find matches and I am just playing the same 10 players over and over. Also, the longer it goes the harder it gets to climb in points. Jimwtfh who is in first place on leaderboard can go the whole week without playing a single pvp game and remain in first and get 20 free packs. Whereas if he plays pvp matches due to his high elo score any losses will drop him down significantly in elo. So his best move is to play no matches and collect his 20 packs. What kind of system is that? A system where people are rewarded for not playing is a poor system.
That way, you know what a character is going to say before you click on it.
I'm enjoying the game. I gotta say it is addictive. With that said, how about a cool instant tournament feature? Other than decks, you can give out various colored borders for your avatar or something. Thanks.
There was no October Romulan update. There has been no pvp leaderboard reset for weeks when we were told they would happen every two weeks. There is no information on when we can expect to see either. And the bug introduced in the ios update 1.6 which kicks me out of the game half of the time when a match is found so that I cannot choose my cards is still present. I really liked this game and it had a lot of promise but my frustration is increasing by the day. I have 111 packs and 9800 latinum saved up over the last two months while waiting for an update that does not come. And without the leaderboard resets I am having to wait longer and longer to find pvp matches. This would not be much of an issue if there was a casual multiplayer but none exists which baffles me. The code already exists for multiplayer. Can't they just copy the ranked pvp code and remove the lines about rank and create a casual multiplayer? We need more info, we need more communication, and we need more results.
