Does anyone know if those jackasses are actually going to hold a book burning, or is it a publicity stunt?

I'm not from this area, but is anybody familiar with a Facebook group called "Spotsy 4 1 1"? Apparently, they are planning a book burning event, using books from the local schools' libraries, on Monday, December 13, in the parking lot of the school board meeting location.

This group got absolutely dragged in the Facebook comments today, to the point where whoever is running this little profile in courage removed or hid the event, and locked down the page, preventing any new comments.

I just wanted to see if anybody had the 411 about "Spotsy 4 1 1." One random nutjob who's talking loud and saying nothing? Or does anybody know if there's going to be an actual, old-fashioned book burning in the United States of America next month? Thanks.

We are heading to Spotsylvania in about a week and a half. One of the goals is to locate the gravesites of some of my wife's ancestors. We have learned that many of them were born and died in the area. I have been unable to identify some pre 1800 cemeteries in the area. Can you help us narrow our search?

I am hosting a Holiday Market at Revatone Farm November 13th 2021 10am-5pm, in Spotsylvania VA

I have 106 spaces for vendors. There are indoor and outdoor spaces.

Food trucks will also be on site.

The event will be advertised on Facebook, Nextdoor, yard signs, a large banner, and currently working on a radio spot.

Records tell me my family came from Spotsylvania during colonial / revolutionary times, but I'm having trouble finding resources regarding what they were doing, where they lived, etc. I don't live in Virginia, so (free) state-specific histories are more difficult to come by.

I remember something about this, I grew up in the area in the 90s. I sing it all the time, but just the part below: Not sure if the "doots" are words I can't remember ... or just a tune.

"Do do DOOT! ... (high pitch singing) At the Spots-ill-vain-uh Mall! ...do-do-DOOT-do-do, doo-doo-do do do do do"

And I thought it was a local TV commercial, not a radio spot. Anyone else remember anything?

My brother and I are from VA, we were reminiscing about an old radio jingle from the 90's for Spotsylvania Mall that our parents have no memory of, does anyone remember it? We came up with:

And thats all we could remember. We were trying to find it online, did we make this up, or was it a real thing? If it does exist, any bright ideas for how to go about finding it? Gotta go the extra mile to win the sib/parent debate, ya know?

So I started this sub recently, after moving hear about a year ago. Much of Spotsy tends to blend into F'Burg, so just curious what people who have lived here longer think....which places are distinctly Spotsy?
