what's next, only an hour of listening time? i just don't see the need for making everything premium- isn't it just going to put people off more? my prediction is that eventually everyone's going to drift to youtube music or something
I remember when I met my first close friend quite a while back. Her family immigrated from Russia and therefore very few of them spoke English. I remember sitting at their house bonding over music instead of stories. The most prominent group we listened to was Lyube, a well known folk group in Russia. Through this group I made many fond memories with these people. I went onto Spotify last night to listen to them as I usually do, I found that this Russian folk group and all their songs have been completely wiped from Spotify. Unlike the whole National Radio incident a while back, you won't even be able to view any music by them, no heads up or anything. Some say it was licensing issues, some say it was Ukrainian hackers, actually quite a lot are saying it was hackers. Me personally, I believe it was targeted. Either way, if there is a disagreement on politics or religion I don't believe that getting rid of music is our answer. Music should be all of our zones of freedom, unrestricted. I just want my music back and honestly, I'm seriously considering canceling my premium for this...
So the what's new option should give you all the new releases from your favourite artists on Friday at 12 midnight which it did in past , now 8hrs later it still has not been updated with releases, this only occurring in the last 2 weeks , anyone with a fix ? It's the same on both my phones so not a cache problem
We all know Smart Shuffle and DJ suck, but ever since the Smart Shuffle feature was added, it breaks my Playlists. I normally go to my Liked Songs, pick something and free ball it from there. Everything I do this, the Smart shuffle option is ALWAYS enabled. If I keep it on, songs keep playing. If I change it to anything else, it stops playing.
Does anyone else have this problem or is it a me problem? I've attached the video below showing my problem.

i suck at recognizing genres, im thinking tech/house (tech house?) but just wanted to hear others opinions !
little western romance playlist, with a sprinkle of just fun ones to dance to, dance with someone to, & maybe a melancholy unrequited song or two, enjoy!❤️
Also off topic but if anyone knows songs with a beat/vibe like scorpio by moneybagg please drop em for me
Hey all,
Has anyone else noticed that the What's New tab on mobile AND desktop is not working properly? I have asked a few friends and they all have had the same experience the last few weeks. Seems to be happening on iPhone, Android, and Windows. Frustrating...
Seems to only show releases from a few days before, and then 1-3 new songs for the week.
Is there any news on this?
I dont listen to a ton of music, so i made a playlist to use and it is about 350 songs. I’m trying to find the goldielocks zone, were its enough tracks that it doesn’t feel like the same songs are being played every week, but not so many that is feels bloated with crap i don’t like. How many tracks should it be
An Amazing playlist Made for all the Franch Music lovers. Enjoy it!
Just for general curiosity and conversation, I have 53 playlists, the shortest one being 45 minutes and the longest one being almost 11 hours
...I wish there was a way to weight it to favor more new songs versus more of my songs. Sometimes, I'm just looking to find new music, and Smart Shuffle is one of the best ways to do it.

What do others look like?
to sum it up, Spotify on iphone is worse than hell. in fact, it is hell ❤️
I love discovering new types of music. I love hearing a sound I've never heard before that moves me. For the past two years I've created 40+ playlists to collect my favorites from each genre, but I am always looking for more!
Here are the genres I've explored so far:
Lo-Fi House, Tech House, Disco House, Big Beat, Liquid Drum n Bass, Midtempo Bass, Bass House, Dubstep
Trip-Hop, Dreampop, Wave, Synthwave, Lo-Fi Hip Hop
Alt/Prog Metal, Thrash/Groove Metal, Pop Punk/Emo, Blues Rock, Riot Girl Punk
Boom Bap, Melodic Rap, Southern Rap, Hyphy, G-Funk, Cloud Rap/Pluggnb, Horror/Trap Phonk
Post Rock, Post Punk Revival, Indie Pop, Indie Folk, Lone Wanderer Folk
City Pop, Afrobeats, Anime J-Pop, 80s New Wave, Hyperpop
50s-60s Jazz/Pop, Disco, 60s-70s Soul, Jazz, Reggae
If you love any of the genres above please send me recommendations. Or if there's a niche subgenre of music I haven't listed, please tell me where to start! I'll listen to everything!
Edit: Since I was asked, here are my playlists! Each playlist is dedicated to a movie/tv character that I think fits the vibe of the genre.
So in the 2023 rap up I had a weird surprise in store. In my top genres that I listen to... It says reggae.. now I have no problem with reggae as a whole, but I definitely don't listen to reggae AT ALL. I'm a Metalhead by trade, and Like the closest I've listened to was that collab with Jr Gong Marley and Mick Jagger but that was years ago
My only assumption is that I listen to a lot of folk music, cultural music, dark acoustic stuff. Think Heilung, A Tergo Lupi, Danheim, Myrkur, etc.. and Spotify categorized reggae under "folk".
What can I do about this, i really don't vibe with reggae much
