Choosing barrel size

Complete begginer here, looking into a hi capa. Will the barrel length i choose effect the pistol's accuracy or range in any way, or if it is just asthetic? I heard online that 200-250mm is optimal but that is presumably for rifles

DSG for speedsoft or HPA

Hello, I have created a list of parts (I wont drop) and I am wondering if I should go with HPA or AEG. They are both around the same price, performance, and looks. Its just a HPA is a little bit quieter and you have to carry around a tank, if its not in your stock (which is not in consideration). Which should i go with?

New carbine for the wife

She wanted light and quick. Did an inferno with the MAC cannon. Topped with a vortex Venom in a REX. Body is G&G and stock is the Laylax mask compatible.

Looking for a beginner gun

I was looking for some input on what gun would be best for me to start with. I am newer to airsoft but have played a few games and I wanted to get a good gun without spending 1,000 dollars. I am currently considering getting either an ssg1 and modding the barrel and back stock, or an Arcturus karambit mod1. Are there any better guns, Ideally AEG, that I should consider that aren’t overpriced?

Hi capa hop up problems

Hop up goes down on its own. I also can't set it very high (the thingy just won't turn more than halfway), unless i manually press on the bucking.

Any ideas what's wrong? How can i fix it?

Best budget setup for speedsoft 2024.

24 years paintballing but with many local fields having better airsoft turnout and friends that play airsoft I'd like to get a setup to play some speedsoft/airsoft. I want something some what compact like nothing longer than a standard paintball setup. I have plenty of HPA tanks but I'm open to HPA or AEG.

Thank you all for the time and knowledge. Feel free to reply on here or send a PM.

rmr or micro t1/2 ?

Need some opinion about reddots.

Im on budget building on aap01 sbr build. Now Im considering a reddot for it since its have picatinny rail

whats on my mind is

  1. rmr looks more low profile and can fit with bare pistol.
  2. but t1 looks better on sbr 😂
  3. lens protector on t1 looks better than rmr protector
  4. both of is samesame on price
  5. but garandthumb supressed ruger t1 is not bad 😂

sooo whats your opinion or suggestion you can share and discuss please post it down

thanks.

For Non-HPA fields. Remote battery AEG

Figured I'd try this idea. Since some fields we visit don't allow HPA, did an Airtac build with a remote battery pack.

Arp 556 or Ssg1

Looking to get one or the other mainly for cqb and some speedsoft games. As a pistol player, one of these two my first aeg EVER. Currently running an hpa'd hicapa fed by EPM1S mags. Any advice is welcome. Thanx.

Could anyone answer some questions I have about getting into HPA for the first time?

Hello all,

I have a series of questions regarding getting into HPA in the UK, before I do get into what I’d like to know more about however I’d like to outline what it is I want to achieve. I’m open to feedback and any help is great but there are 3 specific things I want to do and I need advice on how best to approach these tasks/goals and I have never dabbled in HPA before so am after a great deal of general knowledge on it as well.

So my three “desires” are;

I am going to buy a pre built & pre tuned Daytona AKM.

I have a G&G MP5 etu AEG that I’d like to drop in a HPA engine (I’d like full auto as well but the Kethyra looks enticing).

I have a FABARMs gas STF12 which keeps leaking gas from the reservoir (this is Gas not Co2 so not sure if this would be HPA compatible).

After almost 8 years of Airsoft I own maybe 7 guns, I like my collection and haven’t bought anymore in the last year at least, the Daytona is possibly the last gun I’ll buy and I’ll be happy with my collection. Finally getting into HPA opens an opportunity for me to use my MP5 if I convert it as its front wired with a collapsible stock and I essentially stopped using it because it’s such a faff getting the battery into it. I have like 4 HPA style batteries for my MG42 magazine so that wouldn’t be an issue and the Kethyra being fully mechanical could be even a sweeter plug and play setup. The STF12 shotgun is great fun but I struggle to use it because the green gas reservoir in the grip (that is completely ejectable) only holds gas for a few months it seems, they’re £30 a piece and no matter what I’ve tried they always seem to fail after 3-4 months so wondering if that could be remedied.

So onto my questions;

Firstly it’s about tanks, lines, fittings and regulators:

  1. Daytona recommend a “quick refresh rate regulator” specifically Redline Mini SFRs, would this work with other HPA guns like what I’d like to do to my MP5 or would I need an alternative to swap out? If this is applicable to all my needs and you guys think it’s a good shout then that’s sorted.
  2. Tanks wise I think due to Daytona allegedly being quite air hungry I’m opting for a 48ci tank, the PSI I think looks to be around 3k to 4.5k but again, what’s good what’s bad? I’m quite adverse to the idea of carbon fibre and would prefer either steel or aluminium, leaning towards ally (makes me feel safer) but what are the good brands? DG recommends 4500psi, can you get ally tanks like that that are reliable?
  3. With the lines and fittings, my kit has a water bladder pouch covered in molle down my back, I have at least collums worth of space on my back right so I reckon a 90cm line would perfectly match my arms length with enough but not too little excess. What are good quality lines and what connectors are the standards, would I need a different line for each gun?
  4. I’ve ordered a round molle water bottle pouch roughly 26cm tall by 10cm wide from Military1st in the hopes of seeing if my chosen bottle size will fit snuggly inside it. My hope is to have a snug and secure fit pouch to keep the weight from shifting but also I want to protect my regulator, do you have any recommendations for pouches or barrel sock style gear that would close over the top to stop any direct hits hitting the gauge?
  5. My last question about the base HPA setup is about refill, I’m not far from shops and the sites I go to do typically do HPA refills but some don’t, I’m a little apprehensive about bringing home a “scuba tank” especially as I’m renting and not in my own destructible home 😂. What would you guys recommend? Rely on the refills or invest in a mid sized air tank to refill myself and get it revived every few years?

Now the fun stuff;

  1. To HPA my MP5 I’ve seen polar star kits on YouTube and Kethyra? Kathyra? And someone mentioned to me a wolverine, I believe none of these kits are cheap but some are more idiot proof in regards to installation than others. With a focus on ease of use and replacing the cumbersome 11.1v battery in the front hand-guard what would you all recommend?

  2. I’m beginning to realise that I may need to purchase the STF12 Co2 version if I want to HPA it as they literally sell a HPA install line that just screws in in place of the Co2 bulb. Do any of you have experience with this?

The majority of my Daytona questions have been answered hence my happiness to purchase that but any help is greatly appreciated because I am a HPA guppy. I’m thinking of my budget for all of this being around £2k with the Daytona taking half of that and the HPA gubbins taking maybe £300-£400 and then whatever the MP5 conversion would cost.

How do you protect down there when playing CQB or any type of airsoft?

I've played a few times now and the place I keep getting hit is VERY close to the private part and was wondering what you guys do or wear to help protect that area and reduce pain when getting hit there or near that area as well.

Thank you!

EDIT:

Thank you all for the recommendations I will definitely take them into account!

Trigger board and motor recommendations?

I got a specna arms mk18 that’s been ssg’d with a with a 12:1 gear ratio, a m130 and currently is using the t238 v2 etu and a little 18k motor. I just got a little thing I need to put in a brushless 37k warhead but it fried my battery and maybe the etu.

I was looking at some of gatees products but I don’t know which type and model I should get if I did buy a gatee. I was also looking at another brushless warhead but it’s only a 27k.

Article 1

Has anyone had any trouble trying to switch firing modes? I’ve followed the manual, hold for 5 seconds and it will cycle to next firing mode. It’s just when I do it, it clicks and doesn’t change firing modes and I’m stuck in safe/semi/binary. Any help is appreciated thank you!
