I randomly stumbled upon this question and I'm too curious not to ask. I could only figure out that the letters at the start are a categorization based on object type, and the numbers before the first dash is further galaxy categorization. I couldn't figure out anything else but what I'm more curious about is how it decides what numbers are legal. Why can't I just increment the milky way's number by one and get a brand new object in a different galaxy? If anyone knows, please tell me.
So I want my two kids to try flying around the solar system in a spaceship with a joystick. I think it'll blow their minds. I've heard space engine is the go to (so sad it was delisted on GOG before I heard about it).
So... I'll need a cockpit mod. Any suggestions? Can they control a ship with a joystick? It has to be super simple as they are 4.
Or should I use another game?
Thanks!
