do you think she knows? am I on your clothes?
listen to the second single from illinois shoegaze band flowersatherfeet
I just wanted to let everyone know about my band and our recent story. I play in neo boomer nostalgia core/dad rock/alt kntry band music that was originally from Vandalia Illinois(hence the old capital in the name) and relocated to Saint Louis. We hope to come to Carbondale soon and would love to see some people come out. Here’s a link to our story about being ripped off by grifters using some kind of Ai(or something adjacent)
I am trying to reach out and see if any redditors know/know of Richie Minton. If you're unfamiliar with the name, Google 'Molly Young Case' for the specific details.
If you were around or in carbondale at that point in time, you most likely heard about this awful tragedy.
If you knew Richie, back around the time Molly was murdered, what kind of person was he? Did he exhibit any odd behaviors before or after the murder? Was he ever known to be abusive towards women? If you hungout around or with Richie perhaps at parties or at the shows he "performed" at, did he ever mention anything about his father being a cop? Any potential red flags?
If you don't want to publicly leave a comment, feel free to shoot me a message privately. If you think your perspective won't help, you might be right. You also might be wrong. It could also help bring justice to Molly and those that love her dearly. With permission and the option to remain anonymous, I will be passing whatever information I can collect to the investigators who have reopened the case. Thank you in advance.

I've been wanting to see some extreme (black/death/core/prog/anything with breakdowns) bands locally but they just don't seem to exist that I've found.
Same for hip hop, like indie/jazzy hip hop. I wrote a lot of poetry that fit back in the day and wanted to find local artists to collaborate with but they just don't exist aside from some teens/early 20's who quit after a year.
Here's a recording of a live set I did this past Friday at Oogle House!
Available of Spotify and other streaming platforms as well. And the CD release party is tonight (11/27) at Route 51 Brewery in Elkville so come out!
We Are For Egypt is an album celebrating the history and identity of Southern Illinois, featuring traditional songs passed down through oral history and newly commissioned songs about the area to include rebellions, immigrating to new lands, love, natural disasters, unity, local landmarks, pirates, and a hero dog. Artists include Miss Jenny and the Howdy Boys, Banjo Joe and Danielle, Rip Lee Pryor, Mila Maring, John Reimbold, Regina Zavala and The Prairie du Rocher SIngers.
The album was produced by Jenny Pape, Executive Produced by Stacy Davidson, and supported by the Mellon/ACLS Community College Faculty Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies.
