Hello everyone!
I’m a genealogist & I am trained in discovering local New York family lineages and stories through historical records.
LINK TO INTEREST FORM: Family History Interest Form
This is the interest form I put together for anyone interested in learning more about their New York family history. I research & create family trees, historical road trip itineraries, ancestral maps, etc! It’s a super cool way to connect with your own history and great knowledge pass down to future generations.
Here are some things you can discover from my research:
If you are interested, please view the interest form at the top with some examples. 🙂Instagram w/ reviews: heritage.hunters

Hey everyone, wanted to ask my soon-to-be neighbors how street parking is in South Wedge. Is it manageable, or should I expect to be circling a while and have my car a mile from my house? (going to be moving closer to the river than South Ave, fwiw). Appreciate any insight, thanks!!
who in the area can i go to to troubleshoot issues like set up wifi and home networks?
I'm curious if people think it will be successful with the arrival of Abundance.
Hello people on the Internets. This is a bit of shameless promotion but I have a blog i have set up that has some of my work on it. I am a freelance photographer and was wondering what you guys think. check it out love it or hate it. here is the link http://eyeofmindphoto.blogspot.com/
and yes I am available to setup a photo session if you are looking for a photographer. My rates vary but I keep them affordable and work with whatever budget you may have. Just email me and we can go from there.
I recently ordered a giant cardboard head of my friend and a banner to welcome her home, but accidentally got them delivered to 800 South. I tried to contact the owner, but it turns out she doesn't live there any more. The packages were delivered at 1:30 pm on Friday, but were gone by the time I got out of work and checked for them at 5:30 pm.
There were some small dog prints in the snow on the porch. I know it's unlikely, but I'm hoping a neighbor walking their dog picked up the packages. Any chance it's one of you?
Alternatively, someone just stole a giant cardboard head.
Was riding my bike toward Goodman and saw a pigeon that didn't fly away when I road my bike near it. Tried to catch it so I could call someone to help but it ended up hiding underneath a white van.
Any thoughts on what should be done?
Hey I had my Matte Black Torker, model U-District stolen off of Alexander St outside The Daily Refresher. The lettering of the model and name brand are yellow on the bike, larger framed, with blue rubber pieces on the handle bars, white peddles. If you see it being ridden around, please tackle the fool - it's such an uncommon bike and it's guaranteed to be mine. Need a picture of me and the bike, text me at 5859430333 to let me know of any leads.
I just moved here this week and am already curious where the best pizza is near by. I know Marks and Salvatores obviously but what small shops are there that I might not know (not necessarily in the wedge either. Just close by).
Also please let me know who delivers! (I'm on Clinton and Gregory).
Just wondering what progress, if any, is being made on this project. They've been working on building this foreverrrrrrr. Can't wait for it to be open though!
So long story short, my wife brought a chicken home from Dicky's last night because a drunk guy found it on his porch. It's currently hanging out in my apartment. Anybody know of houses around here that it might have escaped from? Poor thing is freaking the hell out.
There is a special place in hell for those of you who decide that at 230 in the morning you need to rev the engines of your motorcycle and wake up the whole neighborhood.
I just posted this in r/Rochester, but figured it was even more appropriate here:
I work with Harry G's Deli and Cafe and we'll be putting on an eating contest involving the "Best of Rochester" winning sandwich, The Pittsburgh this Saturday at 5pm.
If you're someone that likes to eat and likes to show off your eating skills, click this following link to sign up for your chance to participate in the competition (http://harrygsdeli.com/anniversary/). Winner will receive free food, some Harry G's merchandise and will forever have the glory of being our first ever Harry G's eating champion.
In case you are unfamiliar with The Pittsburgh, it consists of chopped steak, melted provolone, spicy fries, coleslaw, tomato, mayo and oil on a sub roll.
*Note: Please don't downvote this as being an advertisement or whatever, I think this will be a lot of fun and decided to share it with some fellow redditors :)
I want to make our neighborhood safer, i tried to submit to the south wedge planning committee, but the format was strange. I need volunteers, of course i will be available at night as well! Let's get together and make our streets better!
My cat Gunther needs a temporary (1.5 months or so until I could bring him to my sister in Seattle) OR permanent home. He's 13, healthy, and super cuddly. He is neutered but has claws. Can provide rabies vaccination certificate. Gets along well with people and other cats.
He's available because my dad sold our house (and can't keep him now) and I'd keep him but my roommate is allergic. Would still love to be able to visit him though :)
My neighbor was mugged and badly beaten at 2 PM Friday afternoon while walking down Hamilton. The cops were & have been utterly useless. He said that the attackers were behind him for a bit before they went for the money shot. Please stay aware and be safe out there.
Edit: Another acquaintance was jumped on Averill this past friday. No robbery, just beaten up. In both of these attacks there were three assailants who followed the victim for a short time. Please stay aware & don't walk alone if you can avoid it. Keep your phone handy. I've got 150 lb dog who would be happy to be your escort, no foolin'.
What's the deal with all the cops? They're on foot, they have dogs, they're on cars all near highland park. Who are they looking for?
