Why does every non-commercial paper shredder have such a tiny bin? Could someone make a shredder with a bin that fits some standard-sized clear garbage bag and that can shred more than 100 sheets before it needs to be emptied?

Lets develope an App where you can wish for things and rich people who have to much money can buy the stuff for you if they want
The website is a marketplace for purchasing mobile app templates, but it has an added feature that allows you to customize the template without coding. The app would allow users to preview the template they want to purchase - by running the mobile app live on the browser.
Once they purchase the template, they can connect the app to Supabase and add in their own custom data. For eg: A chef who is a creator, purchases a Recipes app template where they can upload their own recipes, links to their TikToks / IG videos for the recipe, upload a list of their affiliate products and deploy the app to play store / app store
I am opening up another location for my business and maybe more in the future but I was wondering how owners or business manage and gather insights from multiple locations of their businesses. Could this be a good idea to make an app out of?
A centralised app that shows you insights and management from branches of your business on Google, Apple and Bing e.g. restaurants, shops, etc. in terms of visibility, impressions, reviews, etc. What do you guys think? Could it be useful for businesses?
I have dumb questions about my small business in terms of marketing it, how to market it, how to get more sales. How should I do seo, etc... What do you think?
Solar technology has already been done but I think it could be used on a broader range of types of things where laptops, smart watches, tablets and other devices like portable gaming charge using a built-in solar panel. The battery then charges on the go and could be topped up via USB if light is low or usage is high.
Hi everyone! I’m working on designing products that optimize space on balconies, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions.
What are some creative ideas for furniture, accessories, or multifunctional designs that could make the most of small balcony spaces? For example, compact furniture, vertical gardening solutions, or modular designs that adapt to different needs.
If you’ve ever struggled with a small balcony or have ideas that you think would work well, I’d really appreciate your input. Bonus points for ideas that combine functionality with aesthetics!
Looking forward to your ideas. Thanks in advance!
I want to create a social service for people who are struggling with social isolation and loneliness due to job loss, significant others who died, divorce, or just struggling to be a part of a group.
Not sure if this is a good idea but as a single regular guy in his early 30s it’s tough. I just want to know if this is a good idea.
...So that we can continue the hope and possibility of reanimating these bodies back to life when medical science advances and finds cures to reverse whatever they died from?
Few weeks back I realized how much I started to spend on youtube. I used to be crazy busy with my life and work and did not open youtube at all for months. Suddenly, I find myself stuck in this swamp. I didn’t even know how many videos I have watched or shorts.
I realized that if there was a way to
1. Track my videos and shorts count daily.
2. Set a video and/or short limit.
3. A look on my weekly/monthly trend so that I can be conscious about how crazy I scroll.
4. Block youtube as a whole and a way to block shorts specifically. ( To never appear in my yt feed)
I will be able to become more aware of my habits. I build a chrome extension and shared with my friends. I found out my friends generally had 10 videos and 9 shorts a day while I had 40 videos and 30 shorts on average and I started setting limits which has helped me a lot.
I m thinking that it might be useful for other people as well.
In future, I want to add category wise overview. (You spend too much time in entertainment or games related content)
But for all that I cant make it free.
I might want a monthly, yearly and may be a lifetime plan as well.
Do you think you would buy this chrome extension if you were in a similar situation as I was ? And if so what would be the appropriate amount you would think it would cost?
I've been having such a hard time getting out of my warm, cozy bed in the morning. Putting on my fluffy robe does help a bit, but I feel like it would help a little more if it were warmer.
That's why I'm thinking, someone needs to invent a robe with a heater installed inside of it. It should even have a function where you can set the heater to be turned on before hand. Like, make it so that the heater turns on every day at 5:45 am. So, when you have to wake up at 6 am, the robe is already nice and warm for you.
I would even wear this heated robe when I'm not just getting out of bed. My house doesn't have central heating (we just use space heaters) so it's very often quite cold. A heated robe would use less energy and electricity than a space heater (because it just warms you, not the entire environment). So, good way to save money on your electricity bill.
I guess this would fall under parody a little moreso…
Bonus points if you can add En Vogue, Larry H Parker, Shaquille Oneil, Mike Tyson to the video somehow too
So I have ran across this a few times in various settings, but trying to get the same color as from 2 different objects at 2 different locations is always hard to get right. What I have considered is an app that has a baseline calibration card you can get, that would match lighting, temperature, and all the variables that might correctly match the color. Think the issue of the white/gold vs blue/black dress issue from early to mid 2010s. You would have a card in some form of protective casing in your wallet or purse, and take a picture in the app with the card next to it. Then go to the next item you are hoping matches and do the same. It would then adjust to the color card matches in both sides, and gives you a match percentage. So especially if you are looking for a suit and the top you like is at one place, but the pants are somewhere else, you can be sure they match. Otherwise matching furniture/ pillows to what you have at home. I have looked around and I am seeing nothing definitive show up similar. But I feel this would help for people who either do stuff like interior design or more crafty jobs, and even color blind people to help coordinate outfits. It could even give insights into how noticeable the difference would be at certain degrees off, and even complementary colors.
The Idea:
An app that generates searchable and customizable concordances from scanned or digital texts. Designed for researchers, writers, and bibliophiles, it’s a niche tool to facilitate deep engagement with documents and unlock new possibilities for text analysis.
Key Features:
Why It’s Useful:
Legal and Practical Considerations:
Challenges to Overcome:
By addressing these challenges and leveraging modern technologies, this app has the potential to transform how niche audiences interact with texts. Whether you’re a scholar, writer, or book enthusiast, this tool could unlock new opportunities for text exploration and analysis.
What features would you prioritize? Are there other challenges or considerations to keep in mind? Let’s refine this concept further!
Ever tried to use your phone while on a bumpy car ride, a shaky train, or even just walking down a busy street, only to struggle with focusing on the screen because it moves so much? Here's an idea for an app that could solve that problem:
The Concept:
A "Screen Stabilizer" app that uses your phone's existing hardware (gyroscope, accelerometer, and camera) to dynamically stabilize the content of your screen in real-time. Instead of the display moving with your hand or the environment, the app would counteract those movements to keep the screen steady and easier to read or interact with.
How It Could Work:
Potential Applications:
Why It’s Feasible:
Modern smartphones already have the sensors and processing power to achieve this. Apps like those for AR and gyroscope-based games already use similar techniques, so the technology exists—it just needs to be applied to screen stabilization.
Why It’s Useful:
This app would improve usability, reduce frustration, and make everyday tasks much easier in dynamic environments. Plus, it could be a game-changer for accessibility!
If you’re a developer (or know one), this could be a rewarding project to take on. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Here’s an idea: apps could use government ID numbers for verification without storing them. A secure government API would simply respond “Allowed” or “Not Allowed.”
This ensures:
• One person = One account
• No underage users
• Privacy stays protected
It could reduce fake accounts and improve safety online, but global implementation and costs are challenges.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the potential of bugs—yes, insects—and how they might be the closest thing we have to “aliens” here on Earth. Their biology is so different from ours, yet they thrive in nearly every environment. Could studying bugs lead to breakthroughs that feel almost alien in nature?
For example: • Immune Systems: Bugs have incredibly effective immune systems, using antimicrobial peptides to fend off infections. What if we could design antibodies based on these to protect not just humans, but other species and ecosystems? • Environmental Cleanup: Certain bugs can break down waste and even plastics. By enhancing these abilities, could we create natural “cleaners” to tackle pollution? • Agriculture: With declining bee populations, creating antibodies to protect pollinators could secure our food supply without relying on harmful pesticides. • Alien-Like Adaptability: Imagine bioengineering bugs that are resilient to extreme conditions, helping us explore harsh environments on Earth—or even other planets!
It makes me wonder if we’re approaching the search for aliens too narrowly. If aliens exist, they might look more like insects than humanoids. Bugs’ collective intelligence, adaptability, and efficiency could resemble traits of alien civilizations more than we realize.
What do you think? Are bugs the blueprint for alien-level innovation? Could enhancing their biology lead to a more sustainable future? Let’s discuss!
I would like someone to make a decent scale Chao Garden Mod for Minecraft.
Cater to the Sonic/Sega fans out there, and those that enjoyed the Chao Garden side of things.
Dating apps like Tinder that work with images where you swipe left/right are based only on sexual attraction, and only work for very successful men and attractive women. And any messaging is supposed to be flirting or other ways of showing spontaneity and wit, which again only and most successful and dominant people would be able or allowed to do.
For most normal people who have partners, it is usually more or less arranged, through friends, family, or another social group.
The only place where low level professionals get to talk to anyone outside their group at the workplace is, when applying for jobs on LinkedIn. Because there you make a resume with your information, present youself formally, and are clear about what your goals are.
There should be dating apps that work in a similar way, where you make a profile with honest information such as your living situation, job, salary, life experience, problems, resources, expectations, etc. And you basically apply to a date with another person, the same way you would apply for a job interview.
I’m gen z, I know plenty of people who rely on their partner for emotional/mental support & are essentially inseparable. There has to be a way to profit off spending time together. A platform full of services that can only be or preferably be done by 2. Thoughts?
I’m working on launching a very complex roommate matching app right now but had the idea in the meantime push out a tinder clone for dogs that need to be adopted
I’m traveling for work all week so I thought it could be a fun side project in the evenings
I’m thinking the mechanics would work like swipe right to match but basically if you swipe right it goes to the dogs profile and gives you the info where you can adopt it
I also think the matching algorithm I can do based on breed characteristics
IE I am an active person help me match with an active breed or vice versa
Thoughts ?? I need to come up with a name too
Maybe this already exists, but I can’t find it anywhere. I want an auto typer which does what a typical one does, except with the added function of randomly cycling through a bunch of different messages instead of just repeating the same one. Anyone know if this exists?
I'm an app developer, and my team and I are working on creating a tool to help parents manage their children's smartphone usage in a positive way. We're looking for your feedback to see if this could be a valuable resource for families introducing smartphones to their kids for the first time.
To be clear, this is NOT an advertisement. I would like your thoughts on whether you think this would be a valuable tool at your disposal. Also, what if any additional features you'd like see in such an app.
Here is the concept in a nutshell: A parenting app that doesn’t entirely block, or monitor social media usage by a child. Instead, the app will time out apps after a certain amount of time, and require the child to complete certain short educational activities to unlock the apps that you restrict. Example: child spends 20minutes on TikTok, after which, the app becomes locked. The child will have to do 5 minutes of SAT words practice, to unlock the app they want access to. Wash-rinse-repeat. As the child goes through this process, the parents will get daily reports on their phones, showing how much time their child has been redirected away from the apps they want discouraged, and all the things they learned instead.
Our thinking with this app, is not to be yet another service that forces parents to “be the bad guy” and completely restrict and monitor their children’s phone usage. Our research shows that most of the time, apps that only serve to monitor and restrict children’s phone usage, tend to create a rift between parent and child. We also see a lot of anecdotal evidence of children being ostracized by their peers due to not wanting their private conversations to be monitored by their parents, effectively denying a child’s ability to have digital privacy. Our app will not be a monitoring app, we simply want to leverage the addictive nature of social media platforms and the internet at large to effect a positive outcome on a child’s attention span and education. The cat’s out of the bag, so to speak. TikTok is likely here to stay for good, so why not use it to do something positive?
As a final note. We have several subjects that we think would be valuable for instruction (not just SAT prep). If you have any requests for things you’d like your child to learn about in 5 minute lessons, I’d love to hear them. What do you think? Any positive or negative feedback is welcome!
TL;DR: We're developing an app that balances children's social media use by temporarily locking apps after a set time and requiring short educational activities to unlock them again. We're seeking feedback from parents on its usefulness, desired features, and educational content suggestions.
Hey guys,
I am currently trying to validate an idea that I came up with recently to help designers or other creative professionals who are just starting out with building their portfolios. Right now, I am trying to validate if the problem I am trying to solve is actually a problem that a lot of such users face.
But whenever I ask subreddits they automatically delete my post instantaneously and I am not sure where I can ask an open question.
If you happen to know any subreddits that I can ask such questions for problem validation purposes or maybe tips when posting, that would be very much appreciated.
Everyone know that a lot of the items on Amazon are the exact same as ones being sold cheaper on Chinese sites like AliExpress, but it can be really time-consuming to search both sites manually. Maybe something like this already exists, but I couldn't find one.
