Do any of the restaurants do like afternoon tea services with the little sandwiches and the scones (or maybe danish pastries)?
I know it’s a Danish town, but I just happened to find out that Rideau Winery used to be owned by a black woman (the first black woman to own a winery in the US actually). Just wondering if there were any other black owned businesses in the area that I could support.
Would anyone be able to recommend any restaurants with vegan options? I've seen a few on tripadvisor but when i got to the restaurants' website and look at their menus (like Mad and Vins) they actually don't have any listed!
Like the title said ^
Are there better places to stay?
Hello, looking to visit Solvang next month with our 2 pups. Any recommendations for hotels and dog-friendly activities? Thank you!
Me and my bf were going to visit tomorrow and I just wanted to make sure that at least a couple store would be open. Thanks
Lost this earning today 12/23 by the miniature store / old danish fudge kitchen. Hoping someone might have found it!
As the title says, my fiancé and I are heading down to Solvang for our honeymoon in January. We both have never been there before. We will be staying for 3 days/nights. We are big foodies, love to drink (beer, wine, cocktails etc.) do you guys have any recommendations for us? Any specific restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner? Any advice would be welcome! Thanks yall.
Is it worth traveling on weekday I.e. Wednesday for the makers market?
When is the best time to visit when there is snow? I know that Solvang doesn't necessarily receive a lot of snowfall. I live in southern California and want that whole small-town-Hallmark-movie vibe. Anyone who lives in or frequents the area, when is the best time to have something as close as possible to what I am looking for?
Planning to visit from LA the weekend of Dec 21. Staying at Hotel Corque,( it was between that and Vinland but Corque seems to have better reviews). I read some of the tips in the below post but I was wondering how bad is the traffic getting into Solvang? I expect it to be crowded but the reason I ask is, I was originally planning to get in early on Sat morning but my wife has a funeral that she has to drop by in the morning in LA, so we might not get there until noon or later. Is the highway getting into Solvang get traffic bad? Trying to plan this out.... also i'm also expecting restaurants to get busy so i'm looking at ones that take reservations...
Hi all, my wife and I are visiting this weekend and I want to set up a sort of vow renewal on Saturday afternoon. We got married in August with friends and family, but we wanted to do something just the two of us. Is there somewhere in town/nearby that’d be somewhat private (with a nice view would be a plus!) we could do this? It’d just be the two of us for less than 20 minutes.
Also, apologies if not the place for asking this, but if anyone would have time to take a few photos/help read that would be super cool and would pay for your time, but totally happy to have my tripod setup with just us. Thanks in advance y’all!
Hi Folks,
My husband, our 3-year-old, and I are planning to visit Solvang in December. We’re excited about exploring the Danish vibes during the holiday season!
A few questions for those who have been: • Is Christmas a good time to visit Solvang? Any special events or festive highlights we shouldn’t miss? • Recommendations for family-friendly places to stay? • Must-visit spots or activities for a family with a toddler? Bakeries / restaurants must tries?
Would love to hear your tips and experiences!
Thanks in advance!
A big part of my childhood was the remote-controlled boats at the waterwheel shopping center on 1st and Molle. I know they have long since gone away, but if anyone has any photos of them, I'd like to see them.
Hello so my girlfriends dad keeps taking about a spot that had a tall beer that held at least 4 beer in on mug. By chance would anyone know where he is talking about
Hi my dad just got a new job working in Solvang, so me and my family just moved out here. Wondering what there is to do for people my age around here?
I finally got a chance to eat at Bit O' Denmark., and it was not great...
•The cream for my coffee smelled really bad, like Bleu cheese, as if it had been sitting in the tin for ages. When I added it to my coffee, there were chunks floating in it. The server brought me a new one, but it was exactly the same, like he didn't even check first. •I asked for salad and got fries anyway, even after he repeated the dressing and everything back to me. •The whole place smells like a wet mop, and there were flies hanging around in the dining room. •The bathroom floor was sticky like a movie theater (?)
(Tbf, the Monte Cristo tasted amazing, though, and was crispy and perfect. The cook is doing great!)
Any recommendations for better places to eat?
Any other horror stories I should know about? lol
