PBR fucking sucks

I went to PBR last night and the shit was so fucking dead. Everyone has been hyping PBR up and when I went there last night and I had the worst time. It was filled with a bunch of white bitches from east cobb wearing jean shorts and crop tops. I was trying to bend it over and buss it open and NO ONE else was even remotely as lit as I was. Pls give good club recommendations in northern atl/buckhead/smyrna NOT swinger places plz my god

Where to see the Northern Lights (Aurora)?

I tried to see it from the village green last night but it’s too bright.

Can you think of safe spots with total darkness? Preferably if they are slightly elevated.

Elden Galleria Apt. Opinions

I toured the Elden Galleria apartments this week and thought they looked really nice. Anyone have good/bag experiences there? The price seems kind of steep but if it’s good then I think it’ll be worth it.

Has anyone ever seen them run a promotion for signing your lease. That would be a nice bonus if we decided to sign.

I’m a little worried that the apartment is on the smaller size for price. Open to all suggestions. If you know of another updated apartment near the Battery I’d love the recs. We just want lots of natural light, updated appliances, clean and quiet environment. Dog spa and park are a big plus.

Best daycares?

A few weeks ago I asked about Nickajack because my family was considering moving to Smyrna. We've now fully decided to do so and are looking at trustworthy, high quality daycares near Nickajack (but open for a longer drive) that might have a spot for July. Please share costs if possible!

Lot between church and Campbell Middle on Atlanta Rd

Anyone know what is going to be built between the church and Campbell Middle school on Campbell Rd and Atlanta Rd? I’ve seen over the past few weeks them clearing the land but haven’t seen signs for what is going in.

Did the golf courses on windy hill formally belong to dobbins? Interest in the history of these strange 2 little courses.

Adult Summer Swim team in Smyrna!

We are coming up on the 3rd season of the Smyrna Grown-Ups swim team and we're hoping to continue to grow the team. We are a traditional swim team in the sense that we have practices every day in the summer and we also participate in swim meets. If it's been 10-20 years since your last swim meet (or less!) and you wan to check us out, get more info here: https://smyrna-gus.swimtopia.com/

We are part of Grown Up Swimming - find out more info about them here: https://www.grownupswimming.com/atlanta

We have tons of fun and cater to adults of all levels (though you need to know how to swim in order to join. This isn't swim lessons)

Stillfire Bankrupt, no longer coming to Smyrna?!

Heard this recently - Stillfire apparently is bankrupt and can no longer afford the cost to build their new brewery in the Smyrna Village. This has been known by the city and the mayor for 2-3 years now and yet no official announcement?! It’s incredibly disappointing to local residents, as it would have also brought in 3-4 more restaurants and a full dog park with an added parking structure.

Stillfire owns the land and because of this they can’t even begin to build, another investor would need to buy Stillfire out to move forward with the project….how did Smyrna allow this? Mayor is buds with the Stillfire family I believe…

Anyone else hear this as well?

Maybe Wild Leap or Arches or Monday want to jump in…..

Nickajack elementary & Griffin Middle?

Hi there! My family is looking to move to Smyrna with our toddler and in our school research we've found great reviews of King Springs Elementary and a few mentions of Nickajack Elementary. But the housing market is doing hotter near Nickajack, so I'm trying to get more info on that school as well as Griffin Middle School. Thanks!

Septic tank pumping recs?

Hey y’all

My house is on a septic tank and I need it pumped. The company I used last time is no more so I’m trying to seek out recommendations for a reputable company that won’t rip me off.

This is an older house so there’s no “access point” to the tank. It requires shovels and digging. According to the last guys who did it that’s not unheard of or uncommon and most companies are used to dealing with it but I figured it was worth mentioning.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Best Texas Style BBQ Brisket

Any recommendations on a good bbq brisket? Trying to get (somewhat) close to what I’ve had in Texas. Great smoke ring, juicy, etc. I’ve had Fox Bros and a few others in ATL. Open to recommendations for anywhere in the metro area. Bonus points for great wings.

Any adult clubs/group in the area to join for fun activities?

Work from home is super isolating so looking for some like minded (adult) group to join for any recreational activitiy. I'm (M42) open to playing pickup sports (soccer, basketball) just for fun (not competitive )or anything that's interesting.

Daycare recommendations

Hi,

My little one will need daycare in January 2025. Since my parents live in the area, I was hoping to find a good drop-in daycare to use Wednesdays and Fridays. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to begin looking?

Thanks!

City rebranding project

Curious if anyone has insight to the Smyrna rebranding project?

Filled out the survey they posted, so hopefully they get good feedback to really lean into this the right way and give out reputation boost.

My thoughts will be they redo brand identidy, including city logo, fonts/colors on signs etc. and then come up with some kind of slogan (besides the Jonquil City).
