I always thought of slowdives as been one if the central shoegaze bands with dream pop influences, but lately I’ve been thinking that it is more dream pop than shoegaze, would you agree ?
Was lucky enough to see Slowdive twice this past tour, and both times were glorious. Does anyone know of any soundboard recordings from latest tour?
Hey is there any arab slowdive lovers? anyone here who can’t stop listening to their dreamy music? I’d love to chat about your favorite songs or albums lets bond over this!
This will be my seventh time seeing Slowdive - I have traveled to see them before, and have made some incredible friends along the way. I am going to be traveling alone, and would love to meet up with some other fans to maybe check out some record stores/food spots if you’re also solo tripping it or live in the area and want to hang out!
I'll go first
everything is alive: chained to a cloud slowdive: star roving pygmalion: miranda souvlaki: 40 days just for a day:slowdive
what are all the other bands related slowdive such as mojave 3 i need anything i know they collab edwith brian eno a lot too
I found black hearted brother by accident when snooping around slowdive side projects. But all I really cared to read about is that it is exactly that, a side project. Anyone know why it was made, if it’s still active, etc? It’s not very popular so I couldn’t really find any social media presence to look at. Also did they ever tour?
For all I know this could be google-able and I’m making a fool out of myself but I’m curious
I was in public in an Everything is Alive tee on and a woman commented and said they’re her favorite band. Then she asked me if I’d listened to their “dead oceans” album. I said no and never heard of it and she said it’s the album before Everything is Alive. I didn’t feel like continuing the conversation (and correct her) but now I’m wondering if she knows something I don’t or what band she confused the EIA cover art with.
And where do I get it? (Digital only)
Hello!
I'm the designer of the Spring and Fall US tour posters. The fall design is a continuation of the story and vibe of the spring design.

Hope you enjoy, and if you decided to snag one at the merch table, thank you for supporting the art of the gig poster!
Cheers!

hola, fellow adult virgins. I go to music college and am writing a dissertation on the development and evolution of shoegaze and need people to fill in this form as part of my primary research. you help me and I'll make sure that virginity situation switches up xxx
I'm a newer slowdive fan, but Don't Know Why is slowly becoming one of my favorite songs. I love souvlaki but I'm partial to modern shoegaze, I think it might be my personal slowdive #1. I'm curious of how it's generally though of among fans.
So i have been doing some research and I cannot find disk 2 of just for a day on vinyl at all. What is the reason for this? Did they never get around to it because of time?
I was completely blown away by what I heard last night in Royal Oak. I thought I was getting myself into a fun little 90s nostalgia act, but my God if that wasn't one of the most incredible musical experiences I've ever had. I had previously only heard Souvlaki, and I really like that album, but hearing their post reunion material for the first time live was something special. It was mixed PERFECTLY, totally enveloping, cacophonous walls of sound. I had my eyes closed for >90% of the concert, it was THAT good. They clearly care a lot about how the sound is received for their audience. I fully get why people say shoegaze is best experienced live now, you just cant recreate that magnitude of bliss any way else. They are true professionals and they have really perfected their niche, and a lovely niche it is. I hope you all have an experience as great as mine was. Go see them!
I assumed it would be a cool crowd going in, but I was so wrong. People not shutting the fuck up, aggressive drunk-dancing like they’re Bez at an EDM concert, no etiquette jumping in front of other people, usually with their phone in front of your face. Band’s solid performance being jacked by an awful bass heavy sound mix didn’t help the vibe either. Really a deflating experience.
The combination of the new tik tok fans having zero concert etiquette, and the older fans being drunk slobs was rough all the way through.
just went to the royal oak show, i had to leave early & couldn't get any merch. was just wondering if theres any left up for sale online. or if they might put leftovers up on something.
What a fucking show! That was truly unbelievable, beautiful set. Sounded so good too, they are incredible live.
