Is it me or does this clip have Spensa and Cobb/Ironsides energy
Has anyone heard any updates on Skyward Legacy, like if the writing is done, a possible release date, etc?
When I read a book I’m always aware that it is a book. I can immerse myself in the story however, like I said, I can distinguish that it is in fact a story.
But fucking Winzik has me boiling inside. I want to rip this crab out of his suit and dismember him piece by piece.
I’m on Defiant, in the part that Winzik kills the slug Comfort in front of Spensa.
I’m still boiling.
Where can I listen to the British version for free.i was using atlanic audio books but it doesn't look like it has cytonic?
Did anyone else notice Brade saying Scrud instead of scud which was used by spensa and the detritus humans? Was it ever addressed where these curse words came from?
So I’m new to Skyward and it’s Novellas. But ever since reading Claim the stars, I’VE BEEN HOOKED!!! I’m wanting to make at least 5-7 new OC’s with their Taynix each. Problem is, I need a flight name first. Then I will start the characters. I want at least 1 from each cavern too. If you have any flight name ideas or OC concepts, please let me know!!! I want to post my art when it’s all finished too!
(Side question: who’s your favorite character from all the books? Mine is def Rig/Rodge)
Someone's running a similar poll in another place I'm in and I'm curious to compare the results.
Do pilots with hyperjump taniks cuddle them while sleeping? It's 4am and I can't get the idea out of my head. It just makes sense? If they're needed for whatever reason then they are right there together. Emergency defense? Can warp right to the hangar. Surprise attack that destroys their bunk? They've got their emergency escape already covered. There's already doomslug plushies, maybe those are used in cannon to help train pilots to get comfortable with sleeping with something the size of a slug? Imagine the safety they'd feel too knowing that they can rest because their slug will warp them away from any danger that happens to come for them.
Plus I feel like the slugs would also enjoy it?
Tldr: DDF pilots sleep while cuddling hyperjump slugs as a safety precaution and also cause they're just cute and huggable.
I have a question...maybe in the flow of excitement of the last few chapters of the Defiant, I did not quite grasp the connection between the delvers and the slugs...
First of all, why did Spensa say to the delvers that the slugs were helping them?
Secondly, why did the delvers say that they were the "LITTLE DELVERS" ?
And finally, why did the delvers who changed, not feel pain anymore?
I'll skudding show him what AGGRESSION is. I am pacing in pure, fulminated INDIGNATION at chapter 25. Holy smokes I haven't been this upset at a book character in a long, LONG time
I've always wondered why Sanderson called delvers "delvers". They are not actually delving into anything, are they? I haven't finished Defiant, if this is explained in the last 50 pages of Defiant, please bear with me.
This name finally made sense when I noticed the following intriguing coincidence:
So, the delvers are called delvers not because they actually delve into anything, but because they really like to use that particular word.
Of course, this is just a coincidence since the publication of Skyward predates >!ChatGPT!<, but it nevertheless helps me make sense of the name "delver".
Do atmospheric scoops on a Poco basically just create a fake vacuum around the Poco, so it can turn any way it wants without moving in that direction.
Hey y’all! I want to do a Spensa cosplay and saw that there was a DDF pin on the dragon steel store, but I procrastinated and now it’s out of stock. Would anyone be interested in selling theirs?
Everything is in the title, do we have any information about a release of the 4th book of the serie in french ?
If the delver maze/training facility and shipyards are actually dead delvers? If so how are they dead? If not what are they?

Spoiler .....
Okay, I finished Starsight and know Mbot has to transfer his memories else where. Does the superiority steal Mbots tech when they take him apart or just destroy him?
Hey. I've finished reading Defiant. I've also read Evershore, but I'm going to be talking mostly about Defiant. I found the darker tone to be a good touch. I enjoyed Spin struggling with the moral ramifications of fighting in a a populated area and how that got her thinking about how to go forward without civillian casualties. I enjoyed getting to learn more about Brade. Really loved the reveal that she was in charge of the Superiority and how it further reinforces the fact that despite the anti-human propaganda, humans and other races really aren't that different. Loved the usage of different POV characters in the climax and seeing Gran-Gran go into battle. When I started reading, I felt a bit sad that I didn't get to look forward to Defiant coming out, but with Skyward Legacy coming out in a few years, I can definitely look forward to that. I was hoping to pace the books out long enough that I would be able to follow Defiant up with Sunlit Man, the next book in Brandon's Cosmere, but I loved these books so much that I just couldn't do it. lol
Hey. I finished reading Cytonic. The Skyward series seems to getting even better and better as Cytonic has proven itself to be my favourite book in the series so far. I finished reading in six days, I was so tempted to find out what happens and find out more about Chet. So much for trying to pace myself. lol I'm loving the new setting of the Nowhere, which I find myself picturing look like a combination of Shadesmar and the Shattered Plains from the Stormlight Archive. Chet is now one of my favourite characters in the series and between his enthusiasm, his isolation and the reveal about his nature as Delver, I just loved everything about him. I also loved finding out more about Doomslug, especially after learning so much more about the Taynix in the short stories. I loved finding about the origins of Cytonics and Delvers, espscially the revelation that M-Bot has the potential to become one himself. I was also thrilled to learn of Hesho's survival after Starsight. Judging from the epilogue, I'm guessing quite a lot happened in Evershore, so I'm very looking forward to getting started on that and seeing where Spin as a half Delver goes in Defiant. I've also read the first two short stories recently as well. I loved the new Taynix, loved getting to know the real Alanik and her culture a bit better, but I found myself unsure as to whether I was reading Brandon's work or Janci's work. I'm starting Evershore next, and then I'm reading Defiant. No spoilers please. lol
So I am re reading straight again and read a line talking about how m-bots active camouflage is figment technology? I’m just curious to know if anyone actually knows what “figment technology” really is
So my furry ass wants to draw the cast of Skyward in an animalfied au so this is what I have so far
Humans: Dogs/Canines UrDail: Cats/Felines Kisten: Foxes
Other aliens like Krell, Dione, etc do not have animals yet bc I cannot find good stuff that'd fit although Tenasi in Cytonic will be reptiles.
!The delvers will be humans that ascended with their technology and are the ones who mutated the characters to be smarter than their earth counterparts before their disappearence, but they still don't understand human technology, language, etc.!<
!This leads into cytonic powers. My original idea here is that it makes animals' brains more efficient and enables them to imagine and think more abstractly and thus have better problem solving, self awareness, etc, essentially making them truely sapient as opposed to anthromomorphized, but then I'm like "Nah the powers are as good as they are"!<
Idk how animals would pilot ships though so this is likely an excuse for doodles with no real plot lmfao
