Enjoy the large lush world of Cyrodiil with the updated graphics and mechanics from Skyrim's engine.
What is Skyblivion?
Skyblivion is a volunteer-based project by the TESRenewal modding group. We aim to bring the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation of gamers and re-introduce it to long time fans of the series. We are currently in the process of porting and rebuilding Cyrodiil along with all of its quests, locations and characters into Skyrim and Skyrim: Special Edition.
No, we are currently at version 0.3 and this is for development alone. In order to go public we will need help from the community (you guys) to speed up development.

Ive played hundreds of hours of Skyrim and recently started my first Oblivion playthrough (honestly I prefer Oblivion in almost every way but that's besides the point) . The two games really aren't that far apart in a gameplay sense. What's the point of remastering a game from 2006 in the engine of a game from 2012, It makes very little sense to me. Especially concerning Bethesda, these games aren't that far apart technology wise either. Also Oblivion isn't very hard to access. Doing a remaster like this of a games like Daggerfall or Fallout 1 makes sense to me but in this case I really don't get it
Hi, question about charge bars on enchanted weapons, I am wondering if the Skyblivion devs are going to alter this system at all? Imo it is one of the least favorite parts of Oblivion, the charges run out too quickly on weapons(especially mellee weapons) and having to use soul gems to recharge all the time is tedious. I haven't seen much from the devs on this, just wondering if they have decided to make any changes here, something like decreasing number of charges consumed per use would be fantastic. Overall though Skyblivion is looking really amazing and so hyped for 2025 release! Thanks. :)
Will I be able to buy the horse armor DLC on game release?
Hey guys! I just wanted to let the devs involved in this sub know that out of a year that's looking to be inundated with high quality games and releases out of everything nothing has me more excited then what you all have managed to create thus far. Perhaps this is oversharing, but I've always been someone who has struggled with depression, and I don't have a whole lot going on in my life materially. Often I find myself struggling to will myself to wake up and take things on. Your game and your work has been a thought that has kept me going. I've often said to myself, man, it would be a shame if I didn't get to play this game. That might sound weird, but thoughts like that keep me going. You guys are working on a source of joy for many people including myself. Oblivion was a formative game for me. It is something I look back on with fondness at the joy I felt playing it for the first time. Being able to experience it again with a fresh perspective and new hopes and desires from a skilled community is a blessing.
I wish I could give you all a hug. Thank you from this person to all of you wonderful passionate people.
Skyblivion may not need mods in many ways. The base game is shaping up to be extraordinary in the intended release state. However, mods will still be able to augment the experience, at the least, if not transform it. If you could have anyone on a hypothetical team bringing mods old and new to Skyblivion, post-release, who would you want involved?
(Thank you to all the great people who have and are working on Skyblivion. In the past, present.. and future.)
Personally, Wintersun faiths, Valhalla combat, and the multi directional movement mod, which i dont remember the name of, are all mods i really like and hope to see em work out the gate. What mods do you guys hope will function with Skyblivion?
There is a Steam sale going on and Oblivion is on sale. Should I get the GOTY edition or the deluxe edition? Are there also any mods I need installed in Oblivion in order for Skyblivion to be installed?
Also, if I install this mod, does Skyrim have to be in a vanilla state with no mods installed, like a Fallout's A Tale of Two Wastelands?
I know there's some rudimentary followers in OG Oblivion, but will we see characters added as followers or brand new characters to take their place?
Will this be a mod for oblivion or a mod for skyrim? I am not a tech person what so ever. If its one for skyrim, would I be able to open skyrim and go to creations, find it and then install it? or would I need to download a launcher from your website? if that is the case, how would that look? Just install the launcher from your website and press play??
I don't know to what extent are you changing level design of dungeons, but it's such a QoL improvement compared to just retracing your steps through all the dungeon. So I just wondered.
How will DLC Player Homes Battlehorn Castle, Deepscorn Hollow, Dunbarrow Cove & Frostcrag Spire be implemented to Skyblivion? Keeping it Vanilla would be weird since you just get it at the start of the game randomly.
With each home having a connection to the Factions, I feel like they could be used as excellent Rewards to completing the Faction Guild Questline…or a Misc Quest to complete when the Faction Quest is done.
For example, completing the Fighters Guild results in a quest of defend the Castle which results in you getting the home as original quest had it where you kill 4 bandits and you get a Free Home or after completing the DB Questline.
Another example after completing The Dark Brotherhood: You are advised by The Night Mother that there is a note in Lucien’s Hideout (or maybe in Vincete’s Room) and that’s how you get the note for Deepscorn Hallow. It could also be given by Arquen after doing a few misc Quests for them after completing the Faction.
Just spitballing ideas but I’m curious to see what other people think or if this was a topic that has already been discussed in the past and given a heading.
IIRC Bethesda is pretty pro modding (in contrast to many other game studios). Given that, I really hope that their marketing department sees the opportunity and puts Skyrim and Oblivion on sale when Skyblivion launches. I am pretty sure that there are quite a few Oblivion fans who never transitioned to Skyrim for whom this might be the perfect opportunity and the other way around, there are probably lots of Skyrim fans who have not played Oblivion yet.
Since winter sales are coming and the official games will be required, which versions should we buy?
Skyrim SE VS Skyrim Anniversary Edition
Oblivion GOTY VS Oblivion GOTY Deluxe
I used to have a gaming PC 7+ years ago but ended up moving to PS5 and haven’t played on PC since. I am struggling to decide if I should just buy a steam deck to play skyblivion or if I should shell out on a decent rig. I really do not think I would use a PC that much other than to play Skyblivion. I have friends on PS5 and a large game library so I do not see a lot of value in a PC for myself. BUT… I desperately want to play Skyblivion. I have not used a steam deck before but I was hoping to get peoples opinions on how well Skyblivion would play on the steamdeck (Or if it is even possible to play mods on steamdeck). I appreciate any thoughts or feedback!
I just watched one of your latest showcases on YouTube and I'm beyond stoked now to play this next year! Oblivion was my introduction to the ES and I have fond memories getting the GOTY at Christmas and I remember playing the first 20 mins and thinking I've discovered something big here and now years later after thousands of hours in Oblivion, Skyrim, Morrowind etc I get to go back and relive the expeiance thanks to you amazing people! Thank you again and I'm so ready for 2025!
I wanted to understand how exactly will the game ge launched. Under the name of Skyrim in steam or in a completely seperate launcher itself?
Question for the creators and a topic of discussion for the players, which trading system will be in Skyblivion?
My take is that I prefer the system in Oblivion where the traders have unlimited gold but a max limit of what they could pay per item. I feel like in Skyrim you just cant unload everything you picked up without doing the reset glitch which makes trading a massive inconvenience, unlike in Oblivion where you can sell as much as you can carry at all times.
Which system do y'all want to see in the game?
I just got the quest 3s and am wondering if there will be anything stopping skyblivion from running with skyrim vr.
Will mods for Skyrim SE/AE that just ADDS equip or spells will be compatible? Will we be able to obtain them via the console commands?
I want to play the mod, but I'm worried that bugfix updates or eventually, the updates that would add DLC areas and quests, would cause in-progress saves to become incompatible and require a new character.
Is this a foreseeable issue which could occur to players?
Is endurance going to be retroactive leveling health wise?
I saw a line in the spooky update about the witch having additional cures. WIll vampirism be re-infectable post curing unlike base oblivion?
Will skyrim spells like transmute or wards be available in skyblivion?
So first off, im super stoked to see this come to fruition, i think no one will see me when this drops 😂 but i have a question for you guys. Will we see recreations of old hairstyles in skyblivion? I play argonians mainly and the female argonian "hair" that has the decorated spikes i really like, and was hoping to see it again.
