Rules for r/Skincare_Addiction
1. Please stay on topic!
We cover skincare from head to toe and everything in-between, including dandruff and ingrown hairs.
If you don't know what's wrong with your skin, i.e. you don't have a diagnosis, then don't post here. We're here to discuss products and common concerns like dryness, oiliness, wrinkles, discoloration, and other superficial things.
No fishing for compliments posts. (Examples: How does my skin look? Are my wrinkles that bad?)
Please see the wiki for more information.
2. Be kind to others, and to yourself.
Post titles, descriptions, and comments must not be self-deprecating, self-disparaging, or otherwise unkind in tone. Content implying requests for sympathy may also be removed.
Bigotry, personal attacks, racism, homophobia, and transphobia will not be tolerated and will result in a ban.
This rule is not to be confused with opinions you don't agree with. As long as it’s done in a respectful manner, we will allow it. No negative comments about the size of a collection or about finances.
3. No spam, self-promotion or referral codes.
No spamming your blog, website, business or social media. No surveys. Exceptions can be arranged prior for active members in our community if your blog/website/social relates to the topic at hand.
Absolutely NO referral/affiliate links or codes.
Do not repost removed or self-deleted content. This is a form of spam and is not allowed.
No AI/ChatGPT.
4. No playing doctor or requesting acne/medical advice.
Do not ask for a diagnosis/treatment advice for acne or other medical conditions. Do not diagnose acne/medical conditions. (Yes, asking "What is this?" is asking for a diagnosis!)
Do not go against what someone's doctor has told them and give your 2 cents. Do not ask us to second-guess your dermatologist's advice.
NO unsafe/dangerous recommendations or advice.
Please see the wiki for more information regarding this rule.
5. No MLM's. Period.
No promoting, shilling or recommending MLM products in this sub.
MLM (multi-level marketing) is a predatory practice that often targets women and those in vulnerable situations. r/Skincare_Addiction will not be a place for promoting such products/practices.
6. No NSFW.
Do not post photos of bare private parts, bare bottoms, bare anything that you wouldn't show your grandmother. This is not a NSFW sub and what you have probably needs medical attention, which we are not qualified to provide.
7. Moderator discretion.
Moderators reserve the right to make decisions in the best interests of the sub and its users, including removing posts that are overly dramatic or are deemed likely to cause undue drama or controversy. Posts that are low effort or have insufficient detail (i.e., just a photo) may be removed. If you won't make the effort to tell us what your question is, we won't make the effort to try to guess.
Attempting to evade filters for any reason is a bannable offense.

Hey guys. Am struggling to stick to one face cleanser as i have oily skin. Tea tree and African black soap really suited me well but now unfortunately they are not available anymore cause of their bankruptcy but they were super good and good price ….
Any recommendations for Face cleanser Organic for oily skin. Men
Looking for a moisturizer/lotion/oil that genuinely moisturizes super body dry skin. I had eczema when I was young and now I have extremely dry skin, even when I moisturize in the morning my skin will absorb it by mid day and I’ll be dry and itchy again. I typically moisturize right after I shower on damp skin.
Currently I use Dr. Teals body oil and then Eucerin original healing lotion after. It does ok with keeping me moisturized but I’ll still get dry. Also if I wear shorts or tight clothes, it feels like the lotion rubs off faster. I’ve used Palmers cocoa butter, Nivea cocoa butter, Nivea original cream in the past but nothing seems to work. Any recommendations are appreciated!
Hi, I recently went overseas and forgotten to bring my own face wash so I bought a packet of facial cleansing wipes. Now that I am heading back, I would like to know how can I use it. I am someone who doesn't put on make up except for sun screen, I do have a small facial routines. If I were to use cleansing wipes, how does it work? Facial cleanser > cleansing wipes > facial routine(toner pad, serum, eye cream, moisturizer)? Or can I skip using my own facial cleanser if I were to use cleansing wipes?
I recently found out that my cleanser that has SA has been giving my dry scaly patches on my skin. I switched to the serum incase it wasn’t the salicylic acid face wash but something else… nope I now have eczema on my forehead, eyelids and under my eyes. What is a gentle exfoliant that I can use? my skin recently changed from oily to really dry so any help is appreciated! I switched to cerave hydrating cleanser and use the hydrating ointment. Im still having pimples on my chin, cheeks and nose though so I need some sort of exfoliant

Is it okay to use a 2% salicylic acid face wash at night and follow it with a vitamin C serum and moisturizer, or will the salicylic acid interfere with the effectiveness of the vitamin C? Is this combination safe, or should I avoid using them together?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I actually don't mind the crows feet/ laughter lines, they are from a happy life! Under the eyes on the other hand makes me look so tired. Can a product help or should I be looking at lifestyle more, or do I just need to accept them?! Thank you!
A pharmacist recommended this cause I was breaking out a bit. My routine after cleansing is Birch 70% Moisture Boosting Toner followed by CeraVe lotion.

I’m a 37F and have had noticeable lines around my mouth since my late 20s, which made me look older early on. I’ve never been too bothered, but recently I’ve noticed that my mouth area looks even older, and my neck is starting to crepe. I’m open to non-invasive suggestions as I’m not keen on filler due to the over-puffed look I’ve seen in friends a few years older.
Here’s my current routine:
I did PRP about a year ago, which refreshed my skin, and Fotona laser last January, which helped but had short-lived results. I haven’t done Botox in a year.
Are there any other effective treatments or products you’d recommend to soften these lines and firm up my neck? Would love to hear what’s worked for others in similar situations!
Hello, I am looking for a good simple moisturizer that doesn't clog pores or causes break outs since my face is sensitive and oily:)
Hi! I’ve been trying to find some good Korean skincare products, but shops in my area (I live in a suburban European town) don’t offer many options. However, one market sells Beauty of Joseon skincare items, such as the glow serum and the viral sunscreen (in both normal and stick packages). The prices are also rather low ($16-17 / €15-16). I have quite dry skin and I have dermatitis/eczema, so I was wondering if this brand is really worth it and, most importantly, if it is recommended for my skin type.
I’ve recently been using the humble deodorant and just felt some bumps under the skin of my arm pits. Has anyone else had this issue? Is this irritation from my deodorant or something worse? 😩
I am hesitant to use tretinoin which i have been prescribed because i heard it can make broken capillaries worse and i may have very mild rosacea. Have been using rx musely with no success and my nose seems to have gotten worse- clogged pores, bumpy spots! Please help
Do red light masks actually work? How helpful are they?
I’ve had skin like this since I was 13 and it still being like this is annoying
