Does sketch up pro run better on windows than Mac?

I am trying to create multiple evenly spaced grooves (dadoes) in a board. For example, a 1/2" wide x 1/4" deep x 14" long dado across the board. I've tried making a single dado into a component, and then copying that, but that doesn't recreate the dado as it was originally drawn. I want to avoid having redraw each dado manually.

I am a professional using SketchUp several times a week. I have a Dropbox membership and I'm considering a Trimble Connect subscription, but it seems like the main use case for me, sharing files between my office and laptop, would be redundant with Dropbox. Is there something I'm missing here? Is Connect overkill for a single user with 3 devices to sync?

So, I‘ve worked on this project for my internship in sketchup for a week now and until recently I‘ve had no big complaints. At my workplace they have the 2017 version (which I‘ve been using) but when I wanted to continue working at home, I used the free 2024 version. The problem now is, that for some stupid reason I just cannot hide any of the new tags I make. There is no error or anything, I press the eye symbol, it closes, but the layer is still visible and everything. Also, when I press to hide all tags at the same time, the new tags just won‘t hide. I‘m getting really frustrated because I can‘t continue working like this and also, I can‘t really go back to the 2017 version because I can‘t convert the file (it‘s incompatible) and I have made quite some progress now…

Hey guys, I'm such a noob with this Sketchup tool, but I really need to achieve something for a personal project.
So as you can see, I got myself a city with its buildings, but no floor at all. I tried to draw under it a square to get a surface for the city, but because of the landscape height variations, that does not work.
Does anyone here know how to generate terrain for my city that automatically takes the landscape into account ?

Hello, I wanted to ask if anybody knows how much I can get for making 3d models in Sketchup for a company based in Chicago? I am based in Europe and I got 26$ per hour. I do 3d models of their products and upload them on the website.

I'd appreciate if anyone knows if this rate is fine ?

Models aren't very complicated, I have 8 years experience and this is part time job.

Hope I can ask this here. So I've been unemployed for a while and decided to bite the bullet and apply for a job not exactly my field. The job requires Maya, 3Ds Max, Blender (All of which I use professionally) and for some reason, SketchUp (Which I've never used) So can I learn SketchUp in about 1 or 2 weeks enough to make them think I know what I'm doing ? Hey all, trying to get JointPushPull installed via the Sketchucation extension manager thing within Sketchup and it won't work. I open the sketchucation extension, click search, type fredo6 and install LibFredo6 v14.6a and Joint Push Pull Interactive v4.8a which I believe comes with a 30 day free trial. Once both installed I X out of the sketchucation window and...see nothing. Nothing in extension warehouse, no new toolbars. If I exit and reopen Sketchup and go back to the extensionstore it acts like I never downloaded it. I've downloaded other plugins in the past like the entire Medeek suite which worked flawlessly, but I've never used sketchucation before so I'm not sure if I'm missing something

I have another skp file I created that I want to import into another model. I press the import button, select the model, and it shows up in my model. However the second I select another tool it vanishes! What am I doing wrong?!?!

I am trying to apply the png file of a logo to a cylinder but I cannot get it to work. I want to maintain the background color I already have but when I apply the logo as an image or texture it makes everything transparent or repeats the logo as a pattern which I do not want. So what should I try to do instead? Thank you!

Sorry if there is a totally obvious answer here, I searched around online and didn’t see anything.

I am in topdown view and have created the walls and doors openings, saved it as a group, and I am now trying to add the windows and door swings but it won’t let me draw on top of the existing plan?

I can’t see any lines while I am drawing, but if I move the entire room out of the way I can see the rectangle or whatever I drew there underneath it.

I don’t see and way to change how things are arranged, how do I fix this??

Hello everybody, i need to model this kind of "rattan tree" but i don't know how to do it.

I started modeling the main form of it and then i thought about giving it the texture (at the end i need to render it in enscape) but online i can't find any texture in rattan or wood like this. Because i thought that modeling something like this is more difficult (or impossible) than applying a texture to it.

But here comes another problem: i tried to exctrat the texture from a photo and mturn it into a PBR material but i can't make it seamless and i obtain an awful result when applying the texture in sketchup (i tried with sketchUV)

I'm looking to enclose the back porch (with roof) by adding 3 walls with windows/sliding door. I was wondering if there are any tutorials on how to get the model for my build. Is there another subreddit that offers such service for a price?

I am trying to get a logo to indented into a model. Is there a better way then just tracing the image and then hollowing it out because that way doesn't really look that good.
