Hello Brethren, Was wondering if there are any Texas Shriners from the Khiva Temple in Amarillow, TX. My Grandfather is/was a Shriner there and was hoping to get some additional information. He's 87 and has Alzheimer's but know he was proud of it all.

Al Shamal Flyers

Good morning Nobles!

I wanted to pop in and introduce you to the newest member's unit at the Al Shamal Shriners in Edmonton Alberta - the Al Shamal Flyers. We formed in late 2017. We purchased a blueprint package online and had four parade units made up which is a hybrid of a go-kart and a Radio Flyers wagon that most of us all had when we were kids. We have four of these things built (from scratch).

We took delivery of these units in late February 2020 and, as you might recall, that was about 3.5 minutes before the world shut down for nearly two years. As a result, we've only had two move-outs - one at a 'stationary parade' (we set up our units on the side of the road and the community drove past us...) and one at a hockey game here in Edmonton, inside the arena on the concourse, no fuel and the motor didn't run. After that - there've been no parades and we have yet to roll these units! But cannot wait!

Please check us out on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/alshamalflyers/

If you follow us, we'll follow back as we like to be connected with what's happening out in Shrinedom.

Thanks!

This is a shot from the Stationary Parade held in Vegreville, Alberta in August, 2020.

Good morning Brother’s!

I just found this sub a few minutes ago. As of yesterday…I can now say …..I AM A SHRINER!…I can also say, that as my Fez was being placed on my head, I could not have been more proud. It’s my honor to be a part of such an outstanding fraternity.

Shriner's Fez When They've Died?

Hi. I hope this is the right place. My grandpa passed away this past August and he was a mason, Shriner, and shrine clown for a big part of his life. My grandma and I were trying to figure out if there's anything special we need to do with the fez, or anything like that. Do any of you know what others have done with it if there isn't anything special you should do with it?

Regional Shrine Convention and competition

I’m a member of Texas Shrine Assn and we recently held meetings and competitions in San Antonio. Our attendance has fallen off badly over the last few years with nothing happening last year due to COVID. Our motorized competition was over by 11:00am. Are there any other Associations that this is happening to? It has become more than one off event. Turning into a trend and I’m very concerned. Thanks.

Ritual/degree

What can you share with out breaking obligation ? Is it in your opinion as deeply meaningful in ceremony as Blue Lodge degrees. Is there hazing or is that a rumors ? How did you feel after your initiation into the Shrine?

Just a brother 3° MM and 32° SPRS here following in my Grandfather's steps, and the last step would be the Shrine.

Share your love for the Shrine brothers !

1995 I was 10, my dad (adopted) was 45. I was born with left side mild spastic hemiplegia cerebral palsy. This was after the surgery(Shriner's Hospital) to allow me to walk flat footed. Dad is and will always will be my champion!

How much did you pay for care at Shriners Hospital?

So does Shriners cover the cost of your bill? My referring ped said it should be free. But on the Shriners site it says anything not covered by insurance will be billed to the patient. I had a consultation visit last year and it was billed to my insurance but I never received a bill from Shriners. I’m really confused. Anyone able to clear it up for me?!
