Hey, my fellow short and strong friends! Thanks for the support on my last post!
I've created a video outlining a beginner workout that you all can do at home! Hope you like it!
Hey, guys! I just began my new YouTube channel and am seeking requests for content or any critiques! I would really appreciate your help! Take care and be well 🙏
I ask because, I sorta have a thing for really tall girls and I was curious if being smaller in stature makes women seem more attractive because they look taller and bigger comparatively.
Anybody interested in bringing the discussion back to life?
Does anyone have any good tips for places to buy clothes for short men. I'm 5'-7" but with broad shoulders so I'm always having a hard time finding pants and shirts that fit me right. Has anybody found the right place yet???
So Im posting this because I honestly don't know what to do at this point. i'm 5'3" and 14 sure i have "time to grow" but realistically i don't think i will. I was born premature which by itself knocks off an inch, then at seven months i reacted bad to a surgery and went into a coma which im not sure could stunt growth but it seems like it would cause trauma. I also have to take steroids for asthma which knocks off another inch. To top it off my father is only 5'5" that being due to malnutrition because all his brothers and very tall and my grandfather was tall but then from my mothers side all my uncles and grandfathers are short but all my male cousins are 5'8+ and even my female cousins are about average to above average female height. I do have a brother who is 5'8 and i wouldn't mind being that tall but problem is he's a half brother and could have gotten the tall gene from his mother. Although i am 14 and have time to grow it seems unlikely and i've even looked into surgery and human growth hormones anything you can think of. Truth to be I do want to be tall and every day i am constantly reminded of how I am short and it really affects my mental health. So I guess i'm asking for advice or something that could give me hope. Thanks for reading.
Hi /r/shortmen!
I just want to post a quick update on the research recruitment study that we posted here!
Since posting the study, we've had over 600 men participate in the survey, some of them from this sub! That is an amazing turnout! It truly brings me great happiness that men and parenting is getting a huge amount of attention!
We are still short of our target number in our attempts to study how to support fathers and their children and spouse. If you or if you know any dads that fit the criteria, please consider taking or forwarding the study!

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or comment below. I'll try my best to get back to you!
Hello!
My name is David Nguyen and I am a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at Lehigh University, completing my dissertation on men and parenting, under the guidance of Dr. Christopher Liang. This online survey should take approximately 20 to 25 minutes to complete and has been approved by Lehigh University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB Protocol #1005276-3).
You are eligible to participate in this study if:
(1) You are at least 18 years of age or older.
(2) You identify as a heterosexual male.
(3) Your oldest child is between the ages of 5 to 12 years of age.
(4) You are living with your oldest child
(5) You are not single or widowed
It is our hope that participating in this study will allow you to reflect on your experiences as a father for your children. This study may help us understand what motivates men to be a parent and what services can be provided to help men be a parent.
If you agree to participate in this study, you will be routed to an online survey consisting of several measures varying in length. Total expected completion time is approximately 20-25 minutes. Additionally, you will be able to designate one dollar ($1) to one of selected charities that help children or support men in parenting their children.
Should you choose to participate, please click the link below to begin the survey (alternatively, you can copy and paste the following web address into your browser):

Feel free to forward this call to other eligible individuals.
I would like to thank you again for your time and consideration. Please direct any questions or concerns you may have to me at dan313@lehigh.edu, or Dr. Christopher Liang at ctl212@lehigh.edu, or Lehigh University’s Institutional Review Board.
So over at a popular radio show subreddit their top post with over 100 votes in a few hours is just degrading short people:
Is this acceptable?
17yo 5'3 guy here with average looks here. Let me start off by saying that in no means is this post trying to get pity from anyone; I'm not the type of guy to ask out a ton of girls who are taller/way out of my league.
The reason I'm posting is because I want to get back in the game. I've only had one serious relationship, the end of which, although discouraging, had little to do with my height. A whole year after that break-up, I was fully emotionally recovered and living my life in the same spontaneous, adventurous way I did before. I've never been the type to absolutely need a girl in my life, as my time single has yielded some of my best years yet.
Now, though, it has been a while I want to get back in the game. That being said, I realize that height is something that I can't change. I do plan on losing some weight in the coming months, but I'm not too sure how to proceed after that. Since the relationship, I've forgotten how to make myself appealing to girls on an emotional/relationship level, as the beginning of said relationship was completely organic. I'm looking for advice on how to make myself appeal more to girls for the purposes of new relationships, despite my short stature.
Does anyone of you have experience being short (about 5 ft 6” – 5 ft 9”), fat and a little bit scruffy, later undergoing transformation to being quite ripped, good looking and well dressed. How girls attention to you changed. How much action did you have before and afterwards?
I know short men have a disadvantage compared to taller men when it comes to dating or just simple attraction with women. I've also read that they have a disadvantage in society, for example, jobs, bars, etc. I'm 5"5-5"6, and I don't see much of a disadvantage in society, only with women but then again I'm young so Idk. Anyways, I work out and you could say I'm "buff" and I noticed that since I'm muscular, I get more respect than when i didn't. So what do you guys think? Do muscles make up for height? at least some?
Why is life so cruel?
Well, today is yet another day I've been rejected by a girl due to my short height. I've been hanging around this girl the past few weeks, we've been having a great time being around each other, and I thought it was leading to something, so I asked her if she wanted to be my girlfriend, and her reply was "You're really sweet, funny, and cute, and I've really enjoyed being around you, but I'm not sure that I could really get over the height difference to be honest". So here's the kicker, I'm a 6'0 tall guy. She is around 5'9, 5'10, but she loves to wear really high heels all the time, like 4-6 inch heels, and so with her heels, she's taller than me. I don't know, I feel this is really unfair, as women can artificially accentuate their height, yet like to judge men on their height which they can't change. I read a recent study in which only 4% of women from a large sample size said they would date a guy shorter than them. So is 6'2 the new "normal" height for guys? I never really thought of myself as "short" but apparently 6'0 is now too short for a guy to be. Any thoughts on the subject? Are women's standards for a man's height completely ridiculous now? What percentage of guys are really 6'2 or taller? Sorry if this sounds like a bit of a rant, I'm just kind of pissed off for being rejected again due to my height.
