Whether it was a movie, or a 1 season, 8 episode mini series. I think that the finale left a lot of people disappointed, so a sequel set a few years down the line, just focusing on the main characters that we all love. It just feels weirdly like there’s no closure. I know that Ncuti and Emma (Eric and Maeve’s actors) wanted to leave after season 4 anyway, if it wasn’t the final season, but surely they’d come back for one last thing.
I’m rewatching through the show, but it’s my first time watching season 4. I had heard about how many people didn’t like it when it released a year ago so I just didn’t bother watching it then. Finally catching up, and I don’t know, it’s just such a slog to get through. With the first 3 seasons, I found it so easy to just binge watch, and have episode after episode play. With season 4 it’s just kinda difficult to keep watching. I think a big thing has to be with Otis, he’s the main character but it’s just weirdly depressing watching him this season. His sex clinic competition with O, his embarrassing moments, him and Eric drifting apart, him and Maeve being unable to get through one conversation without fighting. I’ve just started episode 4 and it’s just kinda weird.
I mean, Jakob, Ola, Lily, Rahim are all gone. Even characters like Mr Hendricks and Ms Sands are only in 1 episode. Why in the final season of your show, would you cut so many characters that had so much devoted to them during the first 3 seasons?
I’m rewatching the show, and I swear at least once an episode I have to look away from the screen. Obviously it’s all intentional, but my god do I want to sometimes fast forward through the awkward stuff.
Heyy I made a top 10 best moments from the show! Lmk your favorites :)
Okay, I have no idea how (un)popular this opinion is, I just want to state some things and people can correct me.
During the entire show (specially the second half) Jean basically forgot Otis wasn't an adult. When she was with Jakob, she put herself first, at the expense od her son. In the fourth season, she's paying attention to someone other than herself, Joy and Jo in exactly one scene - the one when she gives advice to Meave to leave Moordale. She also basically kept O's chances alive after everything she did, when she absolutely didn't deserve to come out on top in that debate.
Although I see the parallel with Jean always somehow messing with Otis' plans (Jakob and Ola first, O and debate, Meave and the scholarship), it feels like it all could have been avoided by just talking to her son. He tried to talk her out of interfering with his life and, when she finally listened, she told Meave to leave. The last part was also poor writing, but I feel like Jean really didn't do enough for her son and eventually let him down completely.
Someone please give feedback, I really wanna see if I'm the only one thinking in this direction.
Does anybody know about a show that talk about the sexuality like this one make it
i'm sorry if someone's already talked about this.. but i'm rewatching the show for like the third time and i actually love maeve and jackson. like actually. i just wanted to see if anyone felt the same way, like i wanna hear opinions about them as a couple. that's it. don't attack me please..
It took them 4 seasons to include a scouser! Shame on you. I kmow the accent is a lot but I expected more of you!
I finally put up my real prop from the show. My friend bought it at the auction in London for me.
It's one of the shame signs from season 3. And it's all protected and nice now!
So I am just recently 15 and I am abit confused as to why season 1 is 18 and the rest are 15..? doesnt that make it impossible for me to watch it? I still wanna watch so if can answer my question, what sorta stuff would I need to look out for that makes it more explicity 18 or the rest of the seasons, and whether I should still be fine to watch it? thanks!
So i just finished rewatching sex ed for the third time, and every time i finish (pun intended) i always get this empty feeling because i have nothing else to Watch That’s similar to this show, i relate to otis so much and every new show i Watch i have no one i relate as much, tried to Watch heartstopper and going royals but didnt like them, im currently watching heartbreak high and while its alright its just not as relatable and fun and dramatic as sex ed.
So that being said any show recommendations that you think would be similar to sex ed and would finally feel this empty void?
Can someone pleaseeee talk with me about how fucking sweet Adam’s character is and his growth??? I fucking loved him so muchhhhh. And then his on screen dad officiating his wedding recently 😭😭 like I told my gf every single episode but they casted Adam and his father FLAWLESSLY. Ugh I feel like I knew this characters personally and im so sad we finished last night!!!
We all know the writers ruined sex education…
Given that season 4 was going to be the last of sex education, it could have been so good if the writers actually cared for the characters, instead of half-arsing it. The amount of parallels they could have added, stories that would’ve ended the best way for characters and just give there all for the last season. We saw the potential the writers had with Adam, Michael and Aimee’s storyline. If they just wrote all characters like that season 4 wouldn’t have been so bad. Season 4 just had so much potential to be as good as season 1.
And yes I’m still mad about season 4 🙃
honestly I didn't hate it as much as others but you can really tell it needed a season 5 especially due to the amount of new characters they introduce in the final season
It went up to $2k! And to such a lovely cause ❤️ Congrats! I’d love to know your plan to display it as a conversation piece lol. My friends and I got a bunch of Jean’s other office penis decor from the first in person sale in London so hit me up if you want to add some complementing pieces! My husband doesn’t love them displayed in our living room 😂 I placed a bid at the last second but it didn’t go through for some reason so knowing your plans for it lets me vicariously live through you hahaha.
What other fun stuff did ya guys get from the Netflix pop up sales? There were some beautiful pieces so I’m curious! Everyone behind the set decorating of Sex Ed deserve their due. I love the look of the show and the sets! I’m glad the show is still living on in our hearts over a year later as much as when it first premiered 🫶🏻
Missed seeing them all together
Fair to assume he has the same opinion as the rest of us. I feel bad for him knowing how much he cared about his character and this show to have it end like that. Dissapointing.
They really just like to use Otis as some sort of catalyst that needs to spark drama, even when it’s absolutely unnecessary and contradicts Otis’s character development from the previous seasons!
All he had to do was tell Ruby where he was or say he couldn’t make it to work on the campaign, yet treats it like it’s the hardest thing in the world to do. Yet has the audacity to act like everything is cool, and doesn’t think about how inconsiderate he’s being where he’s making Ruby feel like she’s wasting her time with helping him win.
Even before this scene, Otis couldn’t even send back a compliment to Maeve about the tits pic she sent him or if he wasn’t comfortable sending a picture of his dick he just needed to say so!
I really wish if not for the actors’ and writers’ strike that was happening during the time this season released, that Otis’s behaviour could’ve been explained better! Even if he is just being asshole regardless.
WHY WHY WHY was he so cruel to ruby in s3 after meeting her dad and not saying I love you back to her. God it’s just soo annoying i stg
If Otis Milburn truly wanted to 'be with' Maeve Wiley, he would have at least 'kept in touch' with her after SE S1. Or at least he would have dumped Ola Nyman during SE S2 when he it was affirmed to him by Maeve that Maeve wanted to be his girlfriend.
Otis in SE 2.06 wouldn't have done what he did.
Otis was at least considerably more physically attracted to Ruby Matthews than he was to Maeve Wiley. And Otis was happy during Otis/Ruby. We even see the couple doing their homework together. And he cared about her family.
We see during SE S3 that Ruby is concerned about Otis/Maeve, but at-most we would have said Otis/Ruby should be on 'a break' instead of forever over.
For Maeve side, she had lived in SE S1-S3 as "a grotty, stinky, co(k biter". In America, she was effectively upper-middle class and still looked like Emma Mackey and still had Maeve's smarts and talents and such. She would have gotten a ton of male attention and easily would have 'found someone' in America.
POLL: Was it realistic that Otis/Ruby forever broke up?
