I'm working with a family that's coming in from out of town, and wants to do a family portrait session. They want to keep it mainly within the main Seattle area(downtown up through the UW campus, possibly Fremont), however the husband wants some of the mountains in the background.
While this time of year doesn't reliably offer the mountains in the background (between the rain and overcast), I have 2 questions:
What are some good options just in case the weather does turn out to be optimal?
What are some good options as backup areas? Specifically nature based areas, so far I have:
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
A print I made as a gift for a friend. Chocolati in Greenwood, absolutely delicious if you have are a chocolate lover.
Hello everyone, I plan on visiting Seattle in December and I was wondering if anyone can lead me into the direction of photographers that do engagement photography or just portrait in general, but I will not be letting my significant other know so it’d be definitely a surprise thing for her And if anyone would know any nice scenery areas to do such engagement photos.
Looking for a FEMALE shoe for my OM2 by TONIGHT!! it’s kind of important that I can get my hands on one if possible. Anyone have any idea of where I can get one or if you happen to have a spare? Checked omega and shot on film, no dice. Any help is appreciated !!!
Picture I took at that lil beach on the waterfront during opening day 😊
Hi all! I'm a portrait photographer in the Chicagoland area. I shoot mostly proposals, engagement sessions, small weddings and events. I'm doing pretty well here with consistent work, but I would like a change of scenery, and I have been considering either Seattle or Denver as options. I'm nervous to relocate my business because I'm unsure how much demand there would be somewhere else. Does anyone have any input on this? If you're a photographer and you live in Seattle or Denver, have you been financially successful? Any downsides to living there? Thank you!
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a professional film photographer in Seattle to help me with a photoshoot. Specifically, I’m looking for someone experienced in 35mm film photography who knows how to shoot and light effectively for a professional result.
I’ll be using a Nikon N90s with a 35-80mm f/4-5.6D lens and Kodak 400 film. All I need is someone who can photograph me with a solid understanding of film photography techniques.
If you have the expertise and are interested, please reach out!
For over 80 years, images taken by renowned Pacific Northwest photographer Asahel Curtis in the late 19th and early 20th centuries were collecting dust in boxes. Curtis photographed Mount Rainier, railroads and everyday people doing everyday things.
Now, these negatives are finally coming to light as the Washington State Historical Society undertakes a massive project: Digitizing 60,000 of Curtis's photos and making them freely accessible to the public.
In a new 30-minute Cascade PBS documentary, we explore the Pacific Northwest from the 1890s to the 1940s through Curtis’s eyes.
"Photography is just a window to the past," said Jennifer Kilmer, director of the Washington State Historical Society. "I think the further we get from these moments in the past, the harder it is to envision what it was like. And when you have original photos, you have the ability to step into that world and to focus on the tiniest things."
Let us know what you think. Have you heard of Asahel Curtis before? Will you browse through the photo archive once it’s publicly available?
Hi!! I’m looking to go to Seattle sometime next year with my fiancé and do an elopement type photo session, we will already be married so we wouldn’t need any paperwork just an hour of two of a location shoot! Looking to spend around 1500 at maximum!
Greetings Seattle and surrounding area! I'm going to be touring through the Pacific North West next month, June 7th-10th, and would love to offer a unique opportunity for the local residents.
My photography business offers amazing experiences while creating your vision and you have all the photo memories of the adventure! I have over 300 costumes and accessories to use for dress up for photo sessions in many sizes, styles, and gender. The online Costume Closet is constantly being updated with more and new items. I might be done adding everything online by the time I'm 60.
I am open to any questions, please feel free to contact me or discuss below.
Found a gorgeous view around Bonney Lake
Hello, Reddit community,
My fiancé and I are embarking on the beautiful journey of marriage and are eagerly searching for a talented wedding photographer to capture our special day. We believe that love is the most precious thing in the world, and we are hoping to find a photographer who shares our passion for documenting moments filled with love, joy, and authenticity.
As much as we value photography, we also have to be mindful of our budget. We understand the value of your craft and are willing to negotiate a fair price that works for both parties. We are not looking for anything extravagant, just someone who can capture the essence of our love story meaningfully and artfully.
Our wedding will be a romantic, intimate affair with our closest family and friends. We are getting married in Federal Way, WA on 8/3/24 and would love to have someone who can be there to capture every heartfelt moment, from the exchanging of vows to the joyous celebration afterward.
If you are a talented wedding photographer who is passionate about capturing love stories and are willing to work within a smaller budget, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us with your portfolio and pricing information. We are excited to find someone who can help us preserve these precious memories for a lifetime.
Thank you for considering being a part of our special day.
Hello All, would you be able to recommend a rooftop parking lot which would give a good view of the city and will be a good spot for an offbeat couple's photoshoot? Any help would be appreciated.
