Not sure if I can do anything. Apparently not affected anything and I’m not at a stage of earning anyways. But still a concern to effect the performance of the video.

Deciding to tell a lil story while it’s still fresh in my memory, tho i’ve only been playing this game for 3 days.

I was at an outpost, concidering logging off for the 4th time cuz i made some damn good hauls that day, when a crewmate (i’ll just call him Cash) logs on and proposes we take on the old Brinestone fortress as Reaper emissaries for a big bonus.

(The old Brinestone fortress will appear several times in this story as my anchor, my prison and my tormentor.)

A couple of ships attack us on the way, but we take one out, leaving other to loot it instead of pursuing. We took out a skeleton ship on the way too. Good loot.

Me and Cash get there with a slightly bruised boat, and absolutely demolish the ghosts there. The combined loot we have on hand from the fortress is massive, so we rushed to the nearest outpost.

We went there, got attacked, Cash somehow fought them off by himself, and the loot was safe.

All that matters is that the loot is safe.

He brought it With the sovreign-tower grappling hook and simply logged off. Good man.

But my exitement to redeem the loot was cut short by the island’s wonky roads. It would take way too long to bring every chest back and forth from Sovreign tower to the Gold Hoarders tent. Time i did not have as a Reaper emissary (i’m on the map).

I grappled it on the boat, sailed closer to the market, but as If they were waiting for me to start moving the chests, a cruel bunch turned me and my boat to swizz cheese in no-time, taking my beloved loot away from me.

I respawned on a relatively nearby island with a new cremate i’ll call ‘’Grumbo’’ and thought: ‘’I might be able to redeem one or two chests If i Get there in time, or get some payback on those ruffians’’, so i set sail…

But Grumbo had other plans. He kept turning the wheel south. To the old Brinestone fortress.

Grumbo didn’t talk back much at all, so i just agreed, thinking i’d left the old treasure behind.

The second siege of Brinestone Fortress went less smooth than last time. I crashed it straight into the walls, and patched up all the holes (i saw).

I was on death’s door quite often during the fighting, yet was victorious once again. But i had no help. I looked outside for my crewmate, and what i saw…

Grumbo died and the boat was sinking. How?! I patched all the holes. How could Grumbo die in the water? Unless he blew it up somehow? Yes, an agent of chaos, on MY ship, here to ruin me!

With no ship, and no rowboat, i now knew the treasure would despawn If i left with the mermaid to start over. My hard work, gone, again.

I decided to support the community by signalling for help, giving whoever found me my loot in exchange for safe passage away from that place.

All that matteres was that the loot was safe.

But no one came. I was stuck in the old Brinestone fortress for so long… I spent every flare, yelled at passing ships for like an hour… the mermaid’s song mocking me with an easy way out… no one noticed.

Until i begged one crewmate that logged on to come pick me up in their boat.

I’ll call him Fleem.

Fleem asked many questions. ‘’How did you Get stuck’’, ‘’Where Are you’’ and ‘’how many stacks of treasure do you have’’.

He said he wouldn’t come If there were less than 2 stacks, and i had no idea what a ‘’stack’’ Even was.

I and the treasure was at Fleem’s mercy, and I had little to no control over the situation. Even my own keyboard gave out on me.

But he arrived. Fleem, my hero, who humored my ramblings. But he asked… strange questions.

He kept asking how many stacks i had, but Also If i was… lying. And as i was grappling the treasure onboard, as my isolation was finally about to bring some fruit…

Out of nowhere, my ark, here to take me and my treasure away, was burning and sinking, like before.

I pleaded to him. ‘’IT’S YOURS, TAKE IT.’’

He said it wasn’t his, and i begged him to take it, so that it was not lost after all the time i spent to preserve it.

Fleem answered my begging with: ‘’Davy Jones’ Locker’’, and ended my life. I was about to ask why he would do this to me, but my question went unanswerd. He left the game.

He took nothing. I told him my plight in great detail. He sailed for 20 minutes to Get there. He arrived. He burnt it all down, and he left.

Never in my short time playing had i felt more insulted, and it stuck with me as i respawned on another unknown Island.

I was once again nearby, and decided. I would have what was rightfully mine. The old treasure of Brinestone fortress and the new.

My treasure was there, behind the gate, on the platform, right where i left it. I just had to conquer old Brinestone one more time, and my effort would be rewarded twinfold.

I rammed the ship next to the gate, patching up what few holes that were there… that i saw…

Alone this time, no ‘’team players’’ to rip my dream away from my cold, dead hands. It was a cakewalk once again. I was gathering the new loot, when i heard…

Signing…

The mermaid i kept hearing before, after Grumbo crashed my…

My boat… it was, once again, sunk. Did i not patch all the holes? Did i ever? Was Grumbo ever at fault?

The treasure of old Brimestone fortress, ripped away from me for a third time. Twice, by my own hand.

The sieges kept getting harder…

My crew, more deranged…

Me, Even more so?

I left With the mermaid, utterly defeated.

I hate this community. But i love this community. But i hate this community.

Keep seeing this pop up, but nothing in the emporium. Also, the message makes me think it’s an error. Idk. Maybe I missed something. Sorry if it’s already been asked, but anyone else seeing this? Any idea what’s going on?

Played SoT before with my buddys, but never more than just sailing around finding shipwrecks too loot. Anyways, we hopped back on today and did fortresses and shrines to get us up to 250k each for a ship. Bought it, threw on the gold hoarder incentive or whatever the flag thingie is and made some more cash!

Now, I’m curious. What would you guys recommend i aim for first? Any voyages or missions too look into? I found most guides online to be all about the money. I’m looking for some captivating gameplay, im not serious about GPH I just want to have some fun

I just tried to play the game for the first time again, I created the character a while ago already and now that I have time to play it, it's not letting me try it out on the safest choices, private game and 1 player but I can't even start it. Before the game even stated running I got the blue screen of death until I tried again without hamachi running. Anyone have an idea on what to do?

As per the title... I need to grind Hourglass (currently 41) I'd like to do that when there are bonuses.

Feel free to let me know if this has been posted about already. I got SOT three months ago after waiting for years for it to finally be released on PS5.

But everytime I play, especially when online with friends, the game crashes. I've tried everything and I really can't play it like this.

Has anyone else ever seen this bug? I just teleported from a mermaid to my ship and my cat named bingus just had this happen to them.

Hi, only commendation I'm missing from pirates of mischief is return to sender. Any idea how to get it? Couldn't find any guides online.

What I understand is I need to harpon and get on the enemt ship, then go back to my own but I need to do it by harpooning '' on '' the ship not the ladder.

Since the only ship can be harpooned is galleon, do I have have to be on a gally, hop on to an enemy gally with harpoon (from the back side) then go back to my own galley (from the back side again) ?

Can I unlock upgrades for my ship?

(e.g. Reinforced ship hull, metal spears on front for increased ramming damage, caltrops on ladders, stronger cannons, faster/better sails, etc.?)

If so: what’s the fastest, or most fun way to unlock upgrades?

If not: would the game be better or worse with ship upgrades?

What is everyone's favourite island and why?

Mine is Old Salts Atoll, I always love smaller islands. This one is so peaceful, along with the broken boat looking beautiful during sunset!

I've seen the "hourglass" mentioned multiple times but I don't know exactly what it is or how it works ?

Also, I've seen a lot of Emissary ships on the map - they scare me until I see it's just a sloop haha cause on the map the boat's pretty big and looks like a galleon - but, I know we can be an emissary for any order or for a Guild. Is there a way to recognize for which Order or Guild people fly the Emissary flag ? Or is the icon on the map always the same ?

Shoutout to whoever the person was that met me at the starting island. Plunder? The second I got into a real game I was met by someone, not gonna put his tag, who showed me the ropes. He started helping me with the only voyage I have unlocked currently. He showed me secret areas under this bar that opened with his instrument and helped me get some loot. Come to find out he was PC. I was unware this game was crossplay, I should of known. What isn't anymore? I probably will never meet him/her again as they recommended I turn off crossplay because PC players are sweaty in game. Players like this in any game are what make the community beautiful. There are some games where experienced players aren't the friendliest to us noobs.

I can't believe they released this on PS. I've been telling my wife I'm buying an Xbox just to play this game. It should have stayed an exclusive imho. I'm getting on when I get off work and want to play with other people. None of my friends/family have this game, is there anyway to get a crew from the home screen? or do I just have to meet a random person. What should I expect for the upcoming holiday season on the seas? It's my first "sea of thieves christmas" was wondering what events to expect and what not

So me and my three friends want to try and get back into playing a little Sea of Thieves, but we haven’t played since Tall Tales was first introduced, which I know was a few years ago or so!

We plan to play on the PvE only mode so we can just relax while still having fun.

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on what we should do and where we should go, for a group of friends who haven’t played this game in a few years.

I know there’s sites that have an update list which tells you what’s new etc. but for someone who hasn’t played in a few years, it all looks quite overwhelming. So I was just hoping for a simple list of some fun and interesting suggestions for things for us to do to

Literally outside flamhearts tent now what???

I’m close to reaching merchant alliance 50 for pirate legend and wondered if I become an emissary does the xp for the alliance go up if so by how much?

My friend and I had nothing but failure yesterday in our little sloop.

First we looted a stronghold then got robbed by a brigantine that pelted our pathetic little boat into the ocean.

Then we tried to attack a reaper ship of 3 ppl and we couldn’t even catch them so they would routinely jump off, burn us and board the ship. Can a sloop really not catch a bigger ship? What’s the point of being in the smaller boat if it’s slower?

Then the Burning Flame… we managed to do it with one cannon but that same reaper crew came back and stole the pledge to take the ship. Question on that: can one guy come up and pledge to steal it or do you need your whole crew to do it to take ownership?

TLDR: how do you get crafty and beat bigger player crews? 2v3 or 2v4.

Personally mines the eastern winds jade set as I love the dragon aesthetics and it’s also a decent price not to much but not cheap being around 311k a piece. Anyway I was just curious on what others liked. Have a good day or night ;D
