Bear with me - there's a Scandinavian interior in this post :)
I am updating a home an old 1970s brownstone - and trying to keep the bones true to its time period (crown molding, tall baseboard, wainscoting, etc.) The exception is i'm putting in an ultra-modern, Scandi kitchen; something like this.
The upper cabinets throughout the kitchen are full height, meaning they will go all the way up (no air gap between the top and the ceiling).
Im can't decide if I should:
I also have a small "butler pantry" off the kitchen; one wall has lower/upper cabs, the other just lower, and the two ends of the pantry have passages (open passage and a pocket door). While a separate room, i think i'd do the same treatment here as it's an extension of the kitchen of sorts.
It’s a long shot, but does anyone have an ID on this up light? I just purchased it from a Danish auction house because I like the colour and form
Do the floor and wall paint fit in a scandinavian interior?
Picked this beauty up and restored it .
Appears to be real - smoked glass low profile and slim bookshelf / media unit ? Top is smoked glass ..
Trying to understand what its purpose was originally.
Hi! Title kinda says it all. I’m wondering if anyone here actually bought a Hastens and what their experience is like… was it worth it?
I’m in the process of updating my kitchen and wondered if anyone had a recommendation for a ceiling light fixture?
I'm hoping to find a nicer looking replacement for the black ceiling canopy and cord set that comes with the Akari pendant in white to better suit my new place. I've looked on connox.de (I'm in Berlin) and Tala, and see mixed reviews.
Also looking on this site, seeing some options that look nice: https://www.lampemesteren.com/pendant-suspension/
Just curious if any other Akari light sculpture owners have tried this :)
Had a discussion with my friend early on if this Poster from the website Dawnies.de counts as a Scandinavian Design, what's your guys opinion?
Bought this Poster on the Website Dawnies.de . I wanted to give my living room a Scandinavian touch but I`m not sure if this looks like Scandinavian Interior. What do you guys think?
Hey everyone! We’re a group of university students working on a project focused on sustainable furniture practices. Our concept is a take-back system for sofas from a brand like Bolia (a modern furniture company). Instead of throwing away old sofas, the idea is that customers could return them to be disassembled and transformed into new products—like acoustic panels, art pieces, or other redesigned home items—rather than ending up in a landfill.
We’d love your feedback on whether you’d be interested in something like this. For example:
Your insights will help us understand the practical appeal of such a service. If you have a minute to share your thoughts or experiences, we’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance for helping out students trying to make furniture more sustainable.
My dining area is not every relaxing and this feeds into the living area. (You can see the edge of my sofa where the living area ends) What am I missing? What can I improve? All ideas welcome.
