Warlander is now in open beta. The game has some savage vibes. Commanders, strategy, TPS seige weapons, interactive melee combat etc.

Hello everyone. I am making games for living and my goal for this year is to remake Savage 2 (It will be different enough to make it safe from any copyright claims). I would like to ask everyone here to write sentence or more about game (what you liked or disliked). One thing that will be different is options to add bots to game-play (with modern machine learning you can have good enough bots for even this game).
If it is ok to share my progress here I will update you all and try to deliver best possible game for all of us to enjoy.
PS: I do not feel like it is good to share games that I worked on (or made) here so there will be no reference to my skills.
I was hoping to fire up savage for a LAN night, but can't start a game. I can start a custom game Lobby, and my friends can join the lobby via steam invites, but hitting "start game" just gives the message "No lobby server available, try again later"
I've tried downloading the dedicated server, but that has it's own set of issues, it can't run while steam client is running for a start, and vice versa, but it looks like the dedicated server on a separate PC would have the same issues anyway?
Is anybody still able to set up a Savage game in 2019?
If not we should do some kind of petition to get them to crowd fund, the game may of killed the studio but I honestly think if they came back through crowd funding (like they should of done to begin with) the game would be successful and completed :(
This was actually one of the coolest and most fun games I’ve ever played. How do I find something like it.
When Savage Resurrection came out a few years ago my dad and I played it a ton. It was an amazing bonding experience and we had so much fun. He was battling cancer then and he is again now. He really wants to play with me again. Is it no longer possible to play the game at all? I have a copy of the game on my Steam account. I can't find the game for sale anywhere.
so NOOOOOOOOOO

Whats the default port for this game me and a friend are trying to setup a server using steam CMD and we cant get the port to change
I can't queue Advanced Mode because I have to play 5 standard matches but I can't play a standard match because theres no servers for this game.
Do I need to setup my own server for this game? or should i go back to Savage XR?
This is both a really cool concept and the few hours I got to play back when there was still at least 1 lobby running with players, the game was a lot of fun. Why did it die? Can we bring it back?
My friend group (8 of us) are looking for good asymmetrical games out there. We are all well versed in RTS like AoEII, Total War, etc. and have been playing a lot of 'Depth' lately. If we hopped on, are we going to be completely disappointed, or is there hope for fun game-play. I just don't want to waste everyone's time downloading the game and then hopping on to something that is not worth it.
Sadly it's just the VC 2015 redist =( https://steamdb.info/app/366440/history/
But I still believe...! This is an awesome base for a good game...
Game page on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/366440
It's not been said if S2 are going to support the game, they had only mentioned it going free-to-play.
So I saw this game some time ago when a friend showed me and I tought it looked great however I was unable to get the game at the time. So now a good while later im found this game on steam again and now I am wondering is there still a playerbase to play this game with?
You're going to release a map editor to save the game soon right? Not a port not a rehash, yeah? Everyone knows this game was made a hit through community... in fact the game wasn't even popular till you made it open source. Why don't you adapt to that? Make a gui map editor and be og
Hahaha, this game failed like the miserable piece of shit that it is. Ya'll got so butt hurt when I told it like it is a couple months ago. Not my fault the devs of this game are complete lying assholes, who never had any intention of making a "spiritual successor" to savage one.
Anyways, steam charts shows that peak players has been 39 for the past 30 days; so we can look forward to this piece of shit dying soon.
I've been playing for quite some time, and can honestly say there's no better test of character, will, and skill than Savage 2: A Tortured Soul. The game feels very fluid and smooth, with quite a few maps that keeps the game fresh.
The community is friendly and competitive as well. Everyone has their own neat trick to showcase and teach, you can sign up at Playsavage2
Come on Marc, it is long overdue.
I heard that this game has both Melee and Ranged combat, but is it actually balanced? Is it fun to fight a Melee fighter as a ranged fighter and vice versa?
I might get the game to see for myself, but it's $11 with what seems to be a nearly dead player base, so I'm not sure if it's worth for my tight budget. (If there's a solid NA pop tho, I'll prolly get it anyways).
General:
*Added a new map, Crossroads.
*This large classic map features numerous paths converging on a single crunch point in the center.
Balance:
*Fire ward and land mine slow is now countered by splash damage immunity, and has slightly reduced duration.
Fixes:
*Fixed some issues with repeater and blaze sounds.
*Fix for corpses standing up sometimes.
*Fix for occasional mesh falling through ground after being knocked back.
*Fixed an instance that could lead to an alive player being in ragdoll.

Great patch, or greatest patch? (Or just the last patch? ;p)
So, aside from the fact that a lot of people seem to agree that humans are stronger than beasts (I mean even in advanced mode the human team is the one that gets filled first and I've met a lot of people that just spam the 'join human' button until they get in), you gotta know how to play both sides and maybe beasts just take a lot more skill than humans.
The biggest problem that I have when I play beast in the early game is the block. I can use the terrain to easily get into range of average players (that don't really seem to give a crap to check whether there's 3 ppl camping behind a rock or smth) but then when I have to 1v1 them and have used most of my stamina to even get in range, the block just screws everything up. I've met groups of people that just permanently blocked. Or as soon as I jump into their range, they block. And they can just do it almost forever. When I hit them, I hope to trade hits, but they hit me once and before I am out of the stun, they can just block again.
What do I do against that? Especially when they can instantly turn around as I try to jump at them?
Or to phrase the question different: If the human player was a bot that just spammed block in my direction, how to break that up?
Ty folks for the help.
when savage 1 first came out i had a blast with 32 v 32 games. why are they going backwards. i even remember some fan made servers with amazing 64 v 64 battles.
Hello! So I recently found out about this game from watching Unit Lost play it with Total Biscuit along with War Owl's video of him playing it. It looked really cool but I have a few questions before buying
I don't have much experience with RTS games but I want to get into them. The closest experience I have to RTS games is a handful of hours playing supreme commander 2. I am interested in learning how to play the commander position. What do I need to know and should I stay away from this game if I don't have much experience with RTSs?
I've noticed that the player base is quite small. Why is that and is the player base showing signs of growth? This is more for my curiosity and won't have much about my decision to buy the game.
How long do matches typically last?
Are there any youtube channels or videos out there that focus on content related to this game?
What advice would you give to a new player? Any entry level tips/tricks?
Sorry this is lengthy
Game looks awesome but don't want to buy it if the population is poor? From the EU
