Hello! I'm looking to work for a NGO in Sao Tome for 1-2 years. I am looking up visa information and it only seems to be for about 2 months maximum. Would anyone have any information for a long term visa for me to use?
My family is looking to move to the Santo Antonio area or somewhere near and costal on Principe island. My SIL speaks fluent Portuguese but even she cannot find anything for sale in the area online, everything seems to be on the larger island. Would it be better to go there and ask? Is there a local real estate agent that anyone can point me to?
I'm working on a list of every country's most iconic cult film (list here: https://boxd.it/n5ZFs) and wondered if anyone could help me figure out São Tomé and Príncipe's entry. I'm looking for a film that might not be well-known outside the country's borders. Perhaps it's a film everyone knows, and is hugely popular only to São Tomé and Príncipe's audiences, even if it wasn't popular with critics. Or maybe it's a film that wasn't well-received by audiences or critics, but has gained a cult following in the years since its release. Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Hello, I have to do a project for Portuguese class based on the Auto de Floripes festival held in São Tomé and Príncipe. I tried looking online for details but it seems to not hold enough information on the festival. I would love as many details as anyone can give me please
Hi all! I collect postcards, but i don't have any from Sao Tome and Principe yet. Can someone send me a postcard from there? I can send you card from Russia. Thank you in advance :)
Hi, I’m looking into visiting São Tomé on Easter and the TAP flights are too expensive. The alternative is to fly via Angola. Does anyone have a reliable source on whether a transit visa/ PCR test is required for a stopover of <24h? The airport says no visa needed for a short stopover but that hasn’t been updated since 2018. Also, the airline says no test required for passengers going to São Tomé but I‘m not 100% sure if that’s true when going via Angola. It’s an expensive flight- I don’t wanna risk anything. Thanks
Hi all, my partner and I are visiting for two weeks in April. I'm a bit unclear on the current situation regarding electronic payments Vs cash and wondered if anyone here could help?
I understand that it used to be best to take cash with you in Euros but I've seen some info that there is more infrastructure now. Is it still recommend to take cash or is it reasonable to rely on ATMs while there?
Also, how widely are Visa and/or MasterCard accepted? Or are there other electronic payment options that are more widespread that we could use?
Keen to avoid carrying large amounts of cash if possible so many thanks for any info
Living in Accra, visited Sao Tome for a 5 day get away. We were looking for a chill 5 days with my wife and 2 kids (ages 13 and 11).
Would not hesitate to go back!
Hello everyone. I am an AP Human Geography teacher, the class is basically why things are where they are. I prompted my students to ask questions to people in other countries as that is a big part of our next unit on Culture and am now trying to find people to answer said questions. If you are outside of the U.S. and interested in this brief survey, any response is wonderful.
The link is here in a Google Form. No names or email addresses are collected.
Thank you!
Hi everyone,
I'm visiting São Tomé in November and would love to hear your suggestions about what to see, where to stay, what to eat. Anything!
Thanks :)
Good day Sao Tome & Pricipe, I am a Canadian who has decided to go on a journey of attempting to cook every countries national dish, and 150th on my list! I am just looking for an authentic as possible recipe for Calulu, any help would be greatly appreciated. I will be coming back to all subreddits after I have cooked said dish to post a final result as well.
The tiny island nation of Sao Tome and Principe in the Gulf of Guinea declares it's independence from Portugal in 1975. It remains one of the more stable, democractic countries in Africa, and is a tourist attraction due to it's beaches.
Hello everyone,
Could someone please tell me the cost of living in São Tomé and Principe? I want to know if it’s expensive or cheap over there as I have someone going there anytime soon.
Thank you for understanding
I was curious if anyone in Sao Tome and Principe refers to their country as, "STP."
I ask because I once called Prince Edward Island, "Prince Edward Island."
A Canadian corrected me and said, " No one calls it that. We just refer to it as, 'PEI'."
