Hey guys. First time posting here. I got hit and run on Saturday night and I could use help trying to track down the license plate and car model. The photos and videos I have won't do much justice, but it's all I have. This was in Santa Clara on the intersection of Pruneridge and Winchester around 7:10 pm. If anyone can could help identify alphanumerics under low lighting conditions, I would be extremely grateful. I contacted my insurance and went to the SC police station and they said there's nothing they can do unless they get at least a license plate.
My group is ready to renew our membership but we currently have 3 open spots for Bay Club Santa Clara (with access to Fremont and Pleasanton). We're doing the annual membership so that we don't have to deal with the seasonal price increase. Message me if you're interested!
Hey everyone,
I’m planning an Express Marriage in Santa Clara. The website says it’ll take 10 business days to get the marriage certificate (after the ceremony), but I’m wondering how long it actually took for you.
Any data points would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks!
Hi- I am in need of a cpa to help me with the innocent spouse. Please anyone recommend a good cpa in the area? TIA
I've lived in Santa Clara for 8 years, but don't recognize all 5 images in this subreddit's banner. Does anyone recognize them all? My guesses below.
Hey, I don’t have family here and I’m not doing anything for Thanksgiving. If you are in the same boat and don’t want to be lonely today just lmk!
According to the bills: For 9/12 to 10/10 we used 12 HCF, For 10/10 to 11/12 we used 11 HCF.
Problem is, we travelled for 3 whole weeks during the 10/10 to 11/12 period. For those 3 weeks no one was home.
How is that possible, that we travelled 3 weeks but our water usage only went down 1/12 compared to the last month?
Irrigation system was left on but it’s every other day for 6 or 8 minutes (couldn’t remember exactly) to keep the grass alive.
I wanted to share a frustrating experience I recently had with Irvine Company Apartment Communities to warn others who might be considering applying with them.
They heavily advertise their Corporate Loyalty Program, promising waived application fees and a $0 security deposit. However, what they don’t make clear is that these fees are charged upfront and applied as credits, not refunded. This critical detail is buried in the fine print and was never adequately communicated during the leasing process.
After discovering this and deciding to cancel my application, they refused to refund my $600 deposit, citing that a 72-hour non-refundable policy (also not disclosed) had lapsed during the course of the dispute. Their customer service showed no willingness to negotiate, even though the terms were misleading, and I had acted in good faith based on their marketing.
If you’re considering renting with Irvine, I urge you to proceed cautiously and thoroughly review their terms before committing. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I’d hate for anyone else to go through the same.
Hey guys, me and my friend are looking for a 2B/1b temporary stay for the month of January near Santa Clara university. We don’t want to spend much and want to be close to the public transports. Do you have any affordable leads ?

Hi, I’m currently a student enrolled in a research methods class and am in no way affiliated with Kaiser Permanente. I’m working on a project to understand the current user experience of the Kaiser Permanente app on mobile devices. I'll be conducting another survey for a competitive app and I'll compare results using statistical analysis. The open-ended will just be used to identify common themes.
The survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete. I’d appreciate it if you could help out!
This survey is confidential. I am not collecting any personally identifiable information, and all responses will be used solely for this class and won’t be shared outside of it.
Hi, I got a job at Google MTV as a new grad. I am looking to rent a 1B1B/2B2B apartment in Mountain View/Sunnyvale/Santa Clara/San Jose. My budget is ~$3k. I don’t have a car.
I would like to stay in a place that has people around my age, has things to do (fitness classes, pottery, painting, bars, restaurants etc).
I know it would take 45mins-1hr to travel from MTV to downtown San Jose but I also read on Reddit that it could be unsafe for females.
Could anyone share suggestions on places to live, would really appreciate the help!
Hi everyone! My sister-in-law and I are opening a Korean-inspired cat cafe in Santa Clara near SCU (projected to open January 2025).
This was driven by our desire to help more rescue cats get adopted and to spread the beauty of Korean cafe culture in a meaningful way. We've spent the last two years developing our concept, finding the perfect place to lease, having extensive conversations with the city of Santa Clara for approvals, and now we are in the middle of renovations for our space.
It's our first time becoming small business owners, and we would love any support in spreading the word or pledging in our Kickstarter campaign (which ends Dec 12th). The start-up costs have been significant, especially with Bay Area costs of materials, labor, permitting fees, etc.
Living in an environment full of high pressure tech companies, we'd love to create a third place to build community and give people the opportunity to destress and enjoy companionship with cats.
Thanks so much for reading this, and we're excited to be a part of the Santa Clara community!
Hi Neighbors, I am moving out from a 1-bedroom apartment (lightly furnished) on the 3rd floor without elevators to SoCal since I lost my job for which I moved here (so I am trying to move inexpensively if possible). I am looking for ideas on how to do the following:
Moving helps move stuff to the car or truck. Are there any local moving companies or teams you would recommend?
Get a truck (like UHAUL) or U-box (which is more expensive) to move stuff to the new location ~6.5 h drive south. Any recommendations?
I am deciding whether to get a storage unit, keep furniture, or sell some things (Ikea dining table, coffee table, TV stand, 55-inch LG TV, a desk, a comfy living spaces sofa and two dining chairs). Any suggestions for storage units? If you are interested in any of the following, reach out. Only used lightly for ~3 months.
Thanks for your help, I enjoy living in Santa Clara but for financial reasons I have to move. Maybe I come back again someday!
