I feel like I’m missing something in there it can’t be that small it’s so easy to get to the crypt of dead gods
So my friend and i just beat a run of Salt and sanctuary, but my friend, became an NPC cleric instead of his character... he can log on and equip armor, but if he tries to un-equip his mace from the cleric (it does no damage) the game crashes...
the cause of the bug could have been, he died in the Nameless God fight, and i lived, went through the gate, and he got told to recall, WHILE he was dead. could have been it, i have no idea though about what really caused this. Thanks in advance if ya'll can help us, if you experienced this before too.
I’ve finished the game a few more times now, and my impressions of it have improved considerably.
I think juggling and knockback is something that is still annoying, but heavy armour and poise alleviates it somewhat. I still think some enemies fling you way too far for how much fall damage you take, but it’s mostly annoying (in that you waste a lot of healing items, and have to crawl all the way back up)
Boss movesets are generally quite alright in that you can learn them and avoid them. Most mages are really alright except for any bullet hell mage.
I also really appreciate the DLC bosses for being either creative (four divines) or tough but fun (Barix). Shirenna was… meh. At 50% health she goes absolutely nuts and attacks near constantly.
It helps that the main gameplay loop of hunting mages is dangerously addictive.
Ultimately, my main issue at the moment is the amount of damage that some bosses and their minions have, as well as the damage of some normal mobs.
Sanguimancer, Mechanomancer, Luminimancer, Thaumamancer, these guys and their summons are honestly unfun with how much damage they do.
Zombie highblades in Dreadstone Peak do more damage than Kraexanar and Two That Remain, while attacking up to three times in a row.
Ironically, I’ve ended up replaying the shit out of Sacrifice far more than I thought I would. As of right now, I think the damage of some enemies is really overtuned.
But there’s still a ton of plus points. Armour looks fantastic, and medium roll is actually good (One of the main problems in Sanctuary was definitely how weak armour is and how medium roll is really bad in that game)
So yeah! I honestly can say I actually enjoy both Sanctuary and Sacrifice now. Neither game is perfect, both have glaring flaws, but both are still very fun games.
Small edit: There is nothing I hate more in this game than the enemies with grabs and the hazeburnt goats. Those two types of enemies are the definition of antifun
Second edit: Honestly, now that I play it again, the biggest issue really feels to be the damage balance. Some of the mages do just too much damage, same with their summons, and its just not fun. Getting oneshot because a wandering Bibliomancer used that rune machinegun that homed in on me while I was trying to avoid him just sucked all the enjoyment
It adds magic but doesn't make it stronger..what should I be trying to do next for more power?(aside from obviously adding str)
thx for any help as always it's much appreciated
~Also: what determined the amount of gold lost upon death? Is it related to level or maybe just a % of how much you have? Don't see the pattern
EDIT: sorry I meant transmuting again, I did upgrade twice now for a little improvement, is there another sword to look out for or do I keep upgrading?
Is enhanced mode just not gonna be on the switch or is it in the works?
I see on the wiki that you can find a shimmering pearl in Mal's Floating Castle. It says to defeat Murdiella Mal and drop down to the left. I found a mimic and a chest with heavy armor down there, but no shimmering Pearl. Did I miss something?
I need more flasks of defilement, but am at max devotion. Is it possible for me to change the rewards I got from the leader
Honestly, I’ve finished the game a few times now, and at this point I think comparisons between Sanctuary and Sacrifice are meaningless with how different they are.
On its own though, I feel that I’m just not having fun with Sacrifice, especially when replaying it. I did have a lot of fun the first playthrough, but now it feels like tedium.
Personally, I hated the way mage hunts and cheaply hidden traps feel like time wasters.
I really dont like the knockback (even with heavy armour), or bouncing off the floor after getting knocked back from an attack.
Rolling feels really weird because I find myself rolling too far from an enemy, so I have to run back to them to hit them (and most weapons feel pretty short range)
Way too many enemies with grabs (I hated that in the first game too)
Stamina regen felt really bad because it halts at any action.
I really dislike most of the bosses. I learnt their movesets, but it really boiled down to dodging their attacks, and waiting for one or two specific attacks to punish. Mostly with how often they attack, and how a lot of their attacks have a followup that you need to memorise.
The mages with the ability to spawn orbs that shoot at you (thaumamancer, cryomancer, or any of those with spammy ranged attacks) felt like rng in that they arent difficult, its just that if they end up spamming certain attacks, you’re just running far away or spam rolling everywhere.
Overall, I just found Sacrifice to be too frustrating to be fun when replaying it.
I'm in ng+, son of devara with devotion at +2, why doesn't the stone leader have jobs for me anymore? I haven't played for a long time so I forgot some mechanics.
Video as most things related to this game is many years old, thx for any clarification
anyone happen to know the drop rate?
Seems I'm often having trouble finding it for some reason
I assume it's a req not met but I don't see any🤷🏻♂️ I do have class one sword
I'm a cleric
ok guys i had a crazy bug, i was doing the bat glitch to duplicate the salt and as soon as i got to 1.8 million i saw that the salt counter was starting to decrease. I killed the bat and it gave me -650765283 salts.what the f**k?
I've played this game off and on for a while over 2 saves and 2 years, but I'm still not very far (i.e. just beat Tree of Men and Untouched Inquisitor over the weekend). So forgive me for not understanding some of the mechanics still.
Is there a way to reset your devotion rewards for completing work with the leader? I just realized that I've only been taking the healing items (in my case, red grass for Stone Roots). I must have accidentally taken one blue grass and one mossy pessmud, but I had only picked red grass other than that because I didn't realize I could choose.
Honestly, that might be the best loadout for me anyway since I rarely use the other items, especially now that I have a scorpion tail whip that does poison damage anyway. And I can count the times on one hand I've even thought to use blue grass. Plus I get my ass handed to me enough to need extra healing anyway haha. I just wanted to know if I had the option to rebalance. Thanks in advance!
Struggling with that Witch lots of attempts, got close a couple of times but its driving me nuts. Any tips? Also is the other places to go at this stage?
I’m actually super glad I got to try Sacrifice!
Currently playing it and loving it because of how unique and different it is. Granted, I might just be burnt out from Souls games now and itching for something different
Been messing with a strength build using heavy armour, greatblades and greathammers (blade of teeth and earthsplitter) and having a blast just whacking the mages.
Love how varied the mages feel with different movesets, and I love the chaotic fights when another rival mage joins the field.
And I’m loving how the mages have different movesets that make them tough but still dodgeable with medium rolls (something I was slightly sad about in Sanctuary was that fast roll felt mandatory)
I absolutely love the traversal like the grappling hook.
I miss the gritter and darker vibe of Sanctuary, but I love the high fantasy feel of Sacrifice.
Any advice for my strength build though? Should I go for a secondary attribute like conviction or arcane?
Word
Hate you, Deep.
This game is so fun, it is one of my favorites.
I finished the game and u gotta say the game has some of the worst boss design in a souls game .
They nerfed the damage on Saira's Staff and added an HP Leech effect...but is it any good? Purgatory Scepter does more damage now and is cheaper to transmute.
Whats after Finishing the game in NG+ Dominion? I’m aiming for a platinum “PS5 trophy” and i missed 2-3 trophies that i need to get. Would it be NG? Or i need to a whole another class and everything?
I just have lost many characters. Is there anyone with a save file with a doped character I can use to finally get platinum?
So, I'm reading some S&S stuff around, and can't figure what this means... Example:
The bosses are bad , especially the mages i have fought so far were horrendous. Just spamming adds and then bouncing you around....
ads?
Honestly surprised this went under my radar for so long.
Happy to play and beat it, and go completionist as much as I could.
Really loved the world design and how connected everything felt, with many shortcuts.
Very generous runbacks that barely wasted much time (always been a significant weakness of DS1 and DS2 IMO, especially when DS3 had much better runbacks)
Weapons feel satisfying to wield, prayers and ranged weapons were fun to mess with
I mostly disliked some of the platforming (crypt of dead gods kinda blows), the fact that heavy armour feels pretty bad, and some of the enemies (Lepris fight like an elden ring boss, and i feel that theres too many enemies with grabs)
For bosses:
Bosses were often really cool, aesthetically and with unique gameplay mechanics (even Tree of Men was pretty unique, even if it was a pain)
Sodden Knight is an amazing tutorial boss for teaching the game, I really liked him.
I find Third Lamb was incredible, really tough because of how it mixes up its attacks.
Coveted was a really cool “duo but not actually” boss that looked great and left me really pleasantly surprised.
Unskinned and Architect were a genuinely good duo boss with the way they could work together.
I loved the Forgotten King for how the three of them didnt feel overbearing despite their numbers.
Nameless God is my favourite boss of course, music is great, his howls and his moveset was really cool.
Only bosses I disliked were:
Witch of the lake: I just dislike the orb that creates homing missiles, thats the only attack that always threw me off. I still didnt like how much damage she did no matter how much arcane defense I tried to stack.
Tree of Men: I liked the verticality, but hated the fatal falls. Just felt cheap to make one mistake and die by falling to your death.
Carsejaw; I actually liked this boss, I just hated his second phase where he could use the downwards stab three times, because one mistake caused my character to go flying and get hit by the second stab, killing him.
Overall, glad to have experienced this! However, I probably won’t go into salt and sacrifice since Im not a fan of the monster and boss aesthetic there (salt and sanctuary’s awful and twisted monsters were a big draw for me)
For example, if I use a crystal sphere in the woods at the Stone roots sanctuary, can I somehow then rejoin them?
Jokes aside, I spend 30mins trying to figure out why i couldnt climb this ladder, I record a video and all that. It turns out and I only figured this out as a zoomed in-to a 3rd part map and saw the ladder the fall way down. SO its event or boss lock.....
This is pretty fucking stupid, i am getting really sick of having no fucking idea where to go. That's been the hardest part of this game.
