Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢(セイントセイヤ) Seinto Seiya), also known as Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac or simply Knights of the Zodiac, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masami Kurumada and serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1986 to 1991. Even after an animation of the entire manga, five movies, and three non-canon side mangas the series is still loved and continues to this day.
Saint Seiya: Next Dimension is the canonical sequel to the original manga and is currently ongoing. The story is said to lead into an Olympus Arc and following a Titanomachy arc against the Titan Kronos.
Please note: The SS series has had a far better reception in Japan and Latin America than in the US. As such, do expect most of the links to direct you to a Spanish site.

Where can I find the anime?
The majority of Saint Seiya anime may be found on Crunchyroll. We also recommend using websites like 9anime as not all anime streaming services have the entirety of the Classic series.
What if I wanted to read the manga?
Unfortunately for our English-only redditters, there are certain chapters in the series that cannot be found online to read. We will provide you with whatever websites we find that have the most chapters for each canon & non-canon series. Provided below are links to both an English and Spanish version of the Mangahere website.
Mangahere Español up-to-date on all series except Saintia Sho
Mangahere English up-to-date on the Lost Canvas series but contains early Saintia Sho chapters and most Next Dimension chapters

Did the author just try to paint them in a romantic light???
Without any lead up to it???
Wtf???
Shes always been a bitch to all of them and NOW SHE EXPECTS THEM TO FIGHT FOR HER???
MAN IM NEAR DROPPING THIS MANGA!
Why the hell are they such scums???
And "Athena" is a spoiled unlikeable brat too!
I dont remember any of this decades ago in the anime lol
Who is the strongest ever because they are many both the manga and the anime don't specify who is the strongest ????
Spoilers for Next Dimension's end. If you read, you know all gold saints were revived and apparently was to begin the true Holy War against Hades.
We had a few war against Hades at this point, so if we were to have a new one, what could be different to make it stand out?
Kurumada planted a seed for Asclepius to return and mentions Tartarus, we don't know if there's other evil beings like the former 13 gold saint, but the possibility is there. And Odysseus paid Charon, we have tha loose end as well.
I think saint seiya has everything setup from lore to character design in order to have one of the best action combat games. Looking through their game's catalog, it seems like all their AAA titles are just 1v1 games trying to copy Street Fighter or early Budokai Tenkaichi versions.
I've been playing DGB kakarot and Granblue Fantasy Relink for the past few weeks and cannot stop thinking those could be seiya games fml.
who would be the golden saint representing you and how much is your chance to survive?
Shaka Virgo is one of the most fascinating characters in Saint Seiya for me, and it’s not just because of his power but because of his unique presence. As the “Man Closest to God,” he has this serene, almost otherworldly aura that immediately sets him apart. He’s calm, introspective, and incredibly powerful, but there’s also a spiritual depth to him that you don’t often see in characters with his level of strength.
His connection to Buddhist philosophy really adds another dimension—his battles aren’t just about physical force but about inner peace and enlightenment. Shaka’s Tenbu Horin, for example, feels symbolic, reflecting his balance of body, mind, and spirit, which makes his fights feel like more than just displays of strength. Watching him meditate in the heat of battle or act with unwavering calm is mesmerizing; it’s like he’s a force of nature.
I also love that beneath his calm exterior, he’s a character who struggles with his beliefs and his role, which makes him feel more human. Shaka isn’t just strong; he’s wise, self-aware, and committed to his principles in a way that’s really inspiring. For me, he shows that true strength isn’t just physical but comes from understanding oneself on a deeper level.
Anyone else find Shaka just as captivating?
I saw this in Undertale sub reddit and I want to do it here, so day 1, a character that is Both meant to be a fan favorite and ended up being a fan favorite, I am thinking Shiryu but wby
So we know that most of the spin-offs are ‘canon’ as a form of alternative universe.
For example ‘lost canvas’
(Those spin-off I’m mentioning does not consider anime versions)
—
So I’m going to use these two words
PU: prime universe(original manga, ND). AU: alternative universe(other manga spin-off)
—
So that being said, Im going to talk about ‘Time Odyssey’ which is a spin-off of french production.
Interveiw of the writer of ‘Time odyssey’: https://imgur.com/H3qL10S
With this link as proof.. I personally think ‘Time Odyssey’ is part of the PU.
But it is fair to think it’s not PU at all but even if you think that way I still think it is part of canon as a form of AU.
—
Anyway in this manga it states about ND-chronos.
Which you can see it in the link: https://imgur.com/ShNvQAw
In the same manga(Time odyssey) it states that that chronos is a titan.
Which you can see it in the link: https://imgur.com/hXgMn1H
So with this I think ND chronos is titan.
Where do we see a titan named chonos that manipulate time??? We see him in episode G.
Yep episode G Cronus and ND chronos is the same god!!!
—
About there being two chronos, I think it’s full of shit..
I know there is actually two gods with similar name as farming god-titan-father of zeus and time god.
Farming god Cronus as titan, and primordial time god chronos.
But even the people of ancient Greece who worshiped them got confused and later they started to worship them as a same god in a figure called ‘father-time’
Anyway back to the point.. there is not a single statement saying ND chronos as a primordial god.
And Cronus from episode G explicitly use time power and also have a hourglass that controls the time of the universe.

..please don’t unvote me.. I really tried to make saint seiya some sense as a connecter multiverse..
If you disagree I totally get it, the strong and bad word that I used is to express that I am confident.. I’m sorry if any of those word offended you guys.
A Brazilian emocore rock band has recently launched a new tour in support of their latest album. One of the standout tracks, a love song, features references to Saint Seiya. During the live performance, Seiya appears in diverse scenes in the background. Additionally, the band's singer proudly sports a tattoo of Seiya.
You can check out the performance here: link.
The part of the lyrics that reference Saint Seiya are:
Layer by layer,
Broken cloth,
Layer by layer,
Rebuild the house.
