Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢(セイントセイヤ) Seinto Seiya), also known as Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac or simply Knights of the Zodiac, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masami Kurumada and serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1986 to 1991. Even after an animation of the entire manga, five movies, and three non-canon side mangas the series is still loved and continues to this day.
Saint Seiya: Next Dimension is the canonical sequel to the original manga and is currently ongoing. The story is said to lead into an Olympus Arc and following a Titanomachy arc against the Titan Kronos.
Please note: The SS series has had a far better reception in Japan and Latin America than in the US. As such, do expect most of the links to direct you to a Spanish site.

Where can I find the anime?
The majority of Saint Seiya anime may be found on Crunchyroll. We also recommend using websites like 9anime as not all anime streaming services have the entirety of the Classic series.
What if I wanted to read the manga?
Unfortunately for our English-only redditters, there are certain chapters in the series that cannot be found online to read. We will provide you with whatever websites we find that have the most chapters for each canon & non-canon series. Provided below are links to both an English and Spanish version of the Mangahere website.
Mangahere Español up-to-date on all series except Saintia Sho
Mangahere English up-to-date on the Lost Canvas series but contains early Saintia Sho chapters and most Next Dimension chapters

Do tenma alone and sasha die?
If Hilda sent Asgard's bravest and most powerful God Warrior to defeat the Gold Saints, Mu would be trembling like this.
(Repost because original had a manga panel).
Let's be honest, the original anime from 1986 did a nasty job adapting the manga. Sure, Shingo Araki's redesigns were totally a hit for everyone except Kurumada, but it was the excessive amount of changes that made the anime a mess. A beautiful series, but still a mess.
Characters like Docrates and the extended sagas such as the Silver Saints only make the story confusing as it goes on. They introduced the Crystal Saint to give Hyoga a master (while in the manga it was Aquarius Camus), only for the Crystal Saint to be retconned out of the series in Hades Chapter Sanctuary. Even in the classic 12 Houses they tried to fix it up by stating Camus is "the master of his master", thus indirectly making him Hyoga's master, but don't you think it's just a crude way from Toei to say "Yeah, we screwed up"? Much earlier in the series, they introduced the Steel Saints, and for what? For selling toys. These characters always felt out of place for me, their technological "Cloths" were a striking contrast to the mysticism of the actual Cloths, and they disappeared from the anime as soon as they reached the Sanctuary. I know there are people who love the Steel Saints, but I think they just don't fit.
Next, we have Asgard. Yeah, as much as we all love this arc, it breaks things from the manga continuity such as Siegfried deafening himself instead of Taurus Aldebaran, which was the reason he later died to Hades' Specters. I've always thought that changing key elements such as Virgo Shaka repairing the Andromeda Cloth (replaced by Aldebaran repairing it in the anime) "kills" the overall flow of the story, as it served as foreshadowing for Shun inheriting the Virgo Cloth. These small details make the story feel more natural, more well-thought, but Toei back in the day didn't care about this.
Now I'll explain what I mean by 98% faithful to the manga. This 98% of faithfulness are the actual events of the manga, everything from the Bronze Saints being half-brothers to the detailed gore of its pages. Scenes such as Ikki performing the Phantom Fist (Genma Ken) on Wolf Nachi just don't hit as hard when there is heavy censorship. As some of you may already know, in the manga, Nachi hallucinates with a giant fist tearing his body apart in extreme detail, which perfectly depicts just how fearsome this technique is. In the anime, however, said giant fist just breaks the Wolf Cloth. As a kid, I never understood why was it so horrible in receiving the Phantom Fist until Hyoga hallucinated with the corpse of her mother. It's supposed to be a shocking technique, and in this case, gore for shock value is fully justified.
The 2% that I don't want to be faithful is the character's and the Cloths' colors. Be honest, you can't imagine Shion without pink hair, can you? Or Shun without green hair and that beautiful reddish hot pink hue of his evolved Cloth. They could also re-use Shingo Araki's redesigns of the Gold Cloths, just compare the original Virgo Cloth design to Shingo Araki's redesign and tell me which one looks cleaner/more recognizable to you. As for the Bronze Cloths, this fanart perfectly represents how I would like the V1 Cloths to be adapted.

Finally, the openings and endings need to be 1:1 to the original anime, you just can't think of Saint Seiya and immediately hum Pegasus Fantasy and Soldier Dream. Imagine these openings remade with modern 2D animation from a studio like Mappa or David Productions, we would have Pegasus Fantasy with designs such as the one I showed you. For the Hades saga, we would have Chikyuugi, Megami no Senshi, and at last, the unused opening for the cancelled Hades saga back in the '90s, chosen by Kurumada himself, Dead or Dead making its official debut on television for the final chapter, Elysium. Just imagine, hearing that classic J-rock theme for the final episodes of the series. I'd get goosegumps. It starts with hard rock, and it ends with hard rock.
What do you, fellow Saints of Athena, think of this? Would a remake like this revive the series and put it on the map again? I'd like to hear your thoughts. I personally think moments like Seiya, Shiryu, and Hyoga wearing the Gold Cloths to fight Poseidon would break the internet the same way Ultra Instinct did a few years ago, we just need more traction, and the only reasonable way to do this is by remaking the anime from scratch.
Are Kayou SS trading cards really “official”?
Han probado algun juego de rol (con dados)?? yo probe uno viejo con sistema de100 de los hermanos castro, pero estoy leyendo adaptaciones para Worls in Peril (pbta), para fate y para weapons of the God, q estan hiper alusinantes.

I really disliked this movie from all three movies I've watch I rank it the lowest ,while it has quite good graphics the storyline is horrible and the events and settings are also horrible (at least for me😞).I see this as a boycott to the base of the animes .The four other iconic characters were not given there usual screen time and none of them undergo any crucial event and how did the earth become like that. What annoyed me also was how Seiya told Saori my life is yours and he doesn't care about anything?!Is this a romance ?Your supposed to follow her cause she's a really good and generous person who protects man kind !! And the way
Shaina and the others became are so confusing. How did this happen ?Could people like them just leave Athena ?And what? Seriously!Seiya and Saori fighting naked !! Something like that would never had happened in the OG series. And then end !!No one knows what happened, this made all so unsatisfying I felt as if I wasted 1:30 min for nothing.Tell me what you think ?did you like it ?
I dislike that the series remains underdeveloped and that certain parts, like Elysion, weren't executed well. Aiacos and Hypnos, for example, had so little screen time when they clearly deserved much more development. There are many other examples like this. Instead of completing or improving the main story, numerous spin-offs have been produced. Regardless of whether they're good or bad, every spin-off reminds me that Seiya's story was poorly handled toward the end, with wasted potential for both ideas and characters.
I've been called a "purist" or a "closed-minded fanboy," but it’s not about that. I simply want Seiya's story to be given the treatment it deserves, with a proper and dignified conclusion. While some of the spin-offs are indeed well-crafted, they are ultimately separate stories that keep moving forward as the core of Seiya’s story remains fragmented and stagnant
I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way. Please don’t be quick to label me as a “purist” and take a moment to understand my perspective.
Ayuda? jajajaja
I like to think when he saw Seiya "die" in front of him that Koga was having thoughts of Aria dying too. In a way, the poor guy probably thought he was losing someone else he cared about. No wonder he called out Seiya's name is such a sad way....
I'll just come right out and say it, I love this scene so much. Koga literally jumps in front of an arrow that was meant for Seiya. He takes the pain of the sharp golden arrow in his arm drawing blood to protect Seiya! Who knows where the arrow would've affected Seiya otherwise, but this was still a nice scene to witness. I think Seiya might be holding Koga, but I'm not sure. Seiya looks so worried over Koga's wellbeing, especially since he took a powerful golden arrow to the arm like it was nothing! Imagine if that was in Koga's chest instead of his arm....it would be interesting.
If Europa hadn't planned for this to happen, he would probably be a dent on the ground by now. Although he got nerfed hard in this show by the writers, Seiya is still a Gold Saint by default and he would have wiped the floor with Europa had he actually wanted to hurt him. I guess the moral of the story is not to piss off a kind and heroic individual like Seiya, or you might end up in the ground.
