Long lunch?

Meeting a friend in Saginaw and hoping to find a cozy/beautiful (and tasty) spot for lunch. We will both be driving more than 90 min to get there. Or just a great meal and then a recommendation for somewhere else we can hang for a while. Doesn’t have to be right in Saginaw - could be a neighboring town.

Thank you!!

Split hardwood firewood

I'm looking for a face cord of split hardwood, seasoned. I see stuff on Facebook marketplace, but am apprehensive about ordering for delivery from someone I don't know and having them dump a load of wood that was split a month ago. Does anyone have recommendations?

Closed business

okay so this is really random but does anybody remember a store that used to be in the plaza on Bay road with Golden Corral and Chili’s I believe it was behind Speedway where I think there’s axe throwing now.. I remember the store from when I was a child, I think the name of it was Tuesdays.. or Wednesdays something like that? It was kind of like a Five Below or dollar store.. they sold just a bunch of random things there but the store closed I believe not too shortly after it was there.

Saginaw petition signing probe goes to AG's office as new city council meets Monday

So to get this straight... re-elected incumbant councilmember Monique Lamar-Silvia allegedly forges signatures for another candidate who then didn't qualify to run. Newly elected council member Carly Hammond may or may not have witnessed the alleged forging as she is present on camera and seen signing the petitions. Now its revealed that one of the allegedly forged signatures belongs to ANOTHER newly elected councilmember, Heidi Wiggins. What on earth is going on here?? Wiggins has no comment?? Why would she not want to distance herself from the alleged illegal activity...

https://www.abc12.com/news/saginaw-petition-signing-probe-goes-to-ags-office-as-new-city-council-meets-monday/article_b019f8e2-a39d-11ef-9911-ebf0f67a4ce2.html

SAGINAW, MI. (WJRT) - Saginaw City Council has a big meeting Monday, as four new members will join the council.

A Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem will also be selected.

The meeting will occur as an investigation has wrapped up involving one of the sitting council members.

The investigation is now at the Attorney General's office.

There is an allegation that Saginaw City Councilwoman Monique-Lamar Silvia forged signatures on a nominating petition for another candidate.

We have confirmed one of those signatures was indeed forged.

This is the surveillance video from July outside of Saginaw City Hall that is part of the investigation into whether signatures on nominating petitions for a potential city council candidate were forged.

The petitions were that of Eric Eggleston, who was informed by city officials that he was six signatures short of the minimum 50 he needed to get on the ballot.

Eggleston is seen outside city hall attempting to get those signatures. Also in the video, city councilwoman Monique Lamar-Silvia, who can be seen in the video appearing to write on the petitions.

Eggleston would eventually submit the petitions, but City Clerk Kristine Bolzman believed some of the resident's signatures were not their own.

Eggleston failed to make the ballot.

ABC 12 News has learned one of the signatures called into question was that of Heidi Wiggins, who just won a seat on city council in last week's election.

Wiggins name and signature appear on Eggleston's petition, but we have learned that it's not Wiggins' signature.

Who signed her name is not clear.

Wiggins says she did not want to comment on the situation until a decision is made on whether there will be any criminal charges.

A person who signs a petition with multiple names could face a felony.

The decision will be up to the Attorney General's office, which has the investigation and is reviewing the complaint.

Eggleston has declined to comment, but in the past told us he supports Lamar-Silvia. Lamar-Silvia easily won re-election.

We contacted Monique Lamar-Silvia for comment but did not hear back.

Council members will select a mayor Monday night.

We did speak with Saginaw Mayor Brenda Moore. She says she hopes to remain mayor but says,"its in God's hands."

Coming to Saginaw tomorrow for Yngwie Malmsteen at the vault.

Looking for some pinball close to the venue. With good food, or geographically close to good food a plus.

Anyone here grow dahlias?

I'm itching to add to my collection. If anybody has too many splits and not enough room... Which is unlikely.

For trade I have thousands of zinnia seeds, sunflower seeds, and Cosmo seeds. This was my first year and a few varieties didn't really produce the tubers that would make it easy to split in spring.

Or shoot if you're tired of them, I'll come dig them up for you and haul them away. 😬🤞

Jo Koy @ The Event Center

Holy moly this dudes crowd work is absolutely incredible. He was so amazing!

Unfortunately took longer than it should’ve to remove the loud abrasive interrupting lady in the upper orchestra section. But if you could drown her out, it was even better when he called her out for being weird and annoying. “All 1000 people in the town are in here tonight. ‘Oh that’s Nancy from Mrs Fields cookies.’”

Craving a Ruiz Taco in the worst way.

Does anyone remember La Placita? Used to eat there all the time in my younger years and my hankering for a Ruiz Taco has never been stronger than it is today. Anyone know where one could get a taco that might scratch that itch?

What was going on at Tommy's Carwash 10/26 in the evening?

Just curious. I drove by there around 8pm and the place was packed. Probably could not have fit one more car anywhere in that parking lot or in the lines.

Looking to move to the area

Hi all, my family and I are looking to move the area from out of state. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or information they'd be willing to share. We've visited a couple times and have been doing online research and we're getting mixed feelings. We have school aged kids so any info on the school systems would be great. The houses we've looked at are closer Spalding/Bridgeport TWP I think but those schools don't seem great and we're trying to understand the Choice programs.

Thanks in advance for any help.

TLDR should we move to Saginaw.
