Hi everyone,
I recently applied for a graduate program at SIUE and got admitted (MS in Civil Engineering). I’ve been researching funding opportunities and came across the Competitive Graduate Award (CGA).
I’m wondering when SIUE typically sends out invitations to apply for the CGA, especially for international students. Are all admitted students automatically considered, or is there a separate process?
I’d really appreciate any insights from those who’ve gone through this process or have more information.
Thanks in advance for your help!
I applied for the meridian scholarships for fall 2025 . I was just curious when will I hear from the university about the desicion . Do any of you guys have idea regarding this ?
Hi there, currently finishing my first semester at SIUE. Have noticed that there is a huge lack of awareness at SIUE around eating disorders/body image in the school setting. I'd like to see if anyone would be interested in helping me start a support group, and I will talk to the proper people about a place to meet.
I feel as though having a space where might help raise awareness around such a prominent issue not only in school, but society in general. I believe having an open place to discuss struggles, gain coping skills and support, and not keep food/body issues to ourselves, would help cultivate a better environment for our college experience.
If you are interested, please send me a PM and I will give you my school email/phone number to talk further.
Thanks a million, hope you are all enjoying break. :)
Does anyone have a syllabus for either of these classes? Considering one of them for Spring 2025 but hoping to preview the syllabus. How about FIN545 (Rakesh Bharait) or MKTG545 (Katherine Robberson)??
hello everyone~ i'm an incoming student starting school at SIUE in January 2025. i was wondering what was the best housing option? i currently live in the northern suburbs in illinois. i'm not sure if i'm going to have a roommate or not, live on campus, or off of campus. i live 4 1/2 hours away from campus so visiting siue multiple times is going to be hard especially bc im finishing up prereqs. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. also, i have a few questions about the nursing program. are there any health requirements besides the vaccinations (e.g cpr, drug/background check)? also, i got an email from financial aid saying that there's a hold in my account bc i didn't include one of the school's I attended as i withdrew from their nursing program due to academic and personal reasons. i wrote them a statement and they needed evidence which i sent my transcripts but they wanted another piece of reasoning which i don't really have one besides me dealing with a family passing and other personal issues. will there be a chance that i get dropped from siue's nursing program? i'm really worried that advising would say so... any help would be awesome~ thank you for reading my post!
Hey, anyone here has taken CS 438 Eren Gultepe Artificial Intelligence class?
I applied to SIUE in Mid October but I have received nothing. I applied through common app and only recieved a confirmation from them. I have recieved nothing from SIUE yet, and I have no idea on howcto check my application status.
Update: I got an answer a while ago but just got to doing this. Everything was figured out and is OK now. Thanks for all the help
I submitted an online application to prepare for the on-site admissions at my high school where i could apply for free and the school provided my official transcript. I was told I was accepted with my unweighted 3.789 GPA and then received an informal acceptance letter that said I would receive an official admit packet at a later date and my admission documents would take 10-15 business days to process. The problem is that it has no been just over 3 weeks since then and I have received no response, no invitation to apply for the meridian scholarship which is due in 6 days, the place where I submitted my online application still says I haven't submitted my transcript, and my email I made on November 5th to admissions@siue.edu that I was told to contact if I had any questions has gotten no response. Am I stressing out over nothing? Do I just need to wait longer? What should I do?
Good morning every one! I’m currently enrolled in the online MBA program at SIUE. I was wondering if any one on this page has graduated from this program and could report on their experience finding jobs post-grad, salary expectations, etc.! If not, does any one know of good ways to get in touch with alumni from the program?
So, I am an international student from Nepal and I submitted my application for undergrad to SIUE through Common App. I submitted my application on 4th November, and it has been 5 day but I have had no response from SIUE regarding my submission. No follow up mail, no mail for student id and all. But they are sending promotional mail (like wtf).
Would love to gain insight from someone who has already applied or who has idea about it.
PS: I submitted Fee Waiver from Common App!!
What is the case of intramural soccer tournament? Do the students participate in this game and is it fun? If you have any experience or idea about it then please do not hesitate to share. Thank you

Hi I went to school here graduated almost 30 yrs ago. I came back in January to work for the university and wanted to say “ Thanks” to the SIUE students who exemplify the spirit of this campus and school! They are polite, courteous and a good group of “ kids” ( I’m old btw) Although the college has changed in size, enrollment, culture it hasn’t changed in spirit that makes it unique.
I've been considering transferring to SIUE/C next year and the thought hit me: "I'll be on my own if I transfer to either of these schools and I'd have no way to deal with this debilitating fear if I had to face it."
I haven't been diagnosed with molluscophobia or anything but I can't stand even the thought of those soft-bodied little shits. I haven't seen one irl since I went on a trip to a zoo a decade+ ago but even thinking about them makes me feel itchy and on edge and hyper aware of what's touching my body.
If I had to deal with one I'd probably abandon my whole room tbh. 😩 I'd take spiders over mollusks and stinkbugs any day.
Does anyone know of any easy Interdisciplinary Studies classes I can take because I am lost for what to do.
Hey guys, does anyone know about any party around? I am kinda new here and still not able to find good friend community to do something with, I just want to know if there is any place to spend good time and have fun today.
Heya! I’m an undergrad student currently enrolled at STLCC and have to do at least two more semesters before I can transfer.
I’ve had a really hard time finding a good art therapy program (and heard rumors today the one at Webster may be going away entirely, womp womp.) but a friend who is also going to be transferring to your lovely lovely little school suggested this program to me, so I have to ask - has anyone here taken it? What did you think?
For students who aren’t enrolled in that program but may know someone who is - pleeeeease get their opinion or tell me loosely quoted what they’ve told you. I’m of course going to look more into it before deciding, but I really want some different art therapy programs to choose from and the pickings (at least if I stay at home) are scarce. Thanks!
Any advice on taking this? What level would you say it's like. How difficult/how much studying should I do? Any example from taking it?
i live in bluff hall & it’s becoming pretty well known that something is making the kids on the 2nd and 3rd floor sick. my friend found black mold & the school said there was nothing they could do about it, which is crazy because what if it spreads—had it not spread already? i’m fighting sinus and congestion issues as well as small dry patches on my body & excessive ache outbreaks.
i am paying to live here but at the cost of my health?? is it like this at cougar and evergreen too? i refuse to put my health on the line when i could easily find a off campus apartment next year.
Can go fuck yourself.
I recently got accepted to the SIUE and was invited to apply for meridian schlorship. The email I received from the uni told me to put my email and enter forget password after which I will receive a email with the link. I did what I was told but I didn't receive any email . What should I do now need genuine suggestions help me guys 🙏
I submitted my application for a graduate program at SIUE for the Spring 2025 intake about a month and a half ago. As an international student, I understand that they receive a large volume of applications, but the wait for a decision feels excessively long. I know this might not be the ideal platform to share this, but I just needed to express my frustration. With only a few months left before the intake, I’m worried that if the decision comes too late, I won’t have enough time to schedule my visa interview and complete all the required preparations.
Normally, spiders are more of a minor nuisance to me (other than being helpful with dealing with other bugs, obviously. I mean nuisance in the sense of they’re kinda creepy and get into everything, sort of like a baby lol) and I was just wondering if there was any way to keep them out of my room? I live in Cougar Village, and Im fine with them hanging out in the living room with their favorite windows and bugs, but I need my room to be off limits because it’s where I sleep. Like, I had a spider on the inside of my window (between the panes) that looked like a black widow (it wasn’t, because it didn’t have any of the markings, but it had the general shape) and I got too nervous to sleep in my room. He’s gone now (I don’t wanna know where he went) but the worrying about spiders has been a constant battle and I really don’t want to kill them, just repel them. I made a spray out of lemon essential oil, water, and dish soap to spray around the windows, bed, and corners of my room, and I have a eucalyptus wax melt going as well, but I’d really like to know if there’s anything else I can do to keep them out
Update: that dumb b** black spider was just trying to give me a heart attack. He’s still safe and sound inside the window lmao. Good luck buddy, I hope you catch all the gnats you want. Just stay in there lol
It’s been a while since i spoke on here so hey everyone! I got accepted into SIUE(southern Illinois university of edwardsville) and I’m so happy to finally further my knowledge and hopefully become a dentist at SIUE! but ( not saying I don’t have hope for myself) I’m scared of taking the college placement test. I’ve worked so hard throughout the years to just pass classes and I finally got my gpa up to a 3.0. It’s not the writing portion of the test but the math portions I’m scared about. Me and math are toxic lovers if that makes sense. I love it and enjoy it but sometimes I honestly hate it and it’s infuriates me and in order to be places in proper classes I have to pass that test and I’m scared that I won’t do well. I guess I’m just asking for some help on what you college grads did to do well on the test and I’m also open to hearing any college advice on how to succeed in college in general. Thank you for listening! ( also tell me what may be on the test because YouTube doesn’t help really well)!
Any Human Resources majors at siue?
has anyone else had problems with having lots of stink bugs lately? I have killed so many. I have nothing out that would attract them and keep my room clean. What have you guys done to keep them away permanently? I thought it might be from a crack in my window and got tape just now. Anything else?
