Hey guys, does anyone know about any party around? I am kinda new here and still not able to find good friend community to do something with, I just want to know if there is any place to spend good time and have fun today.
Heya! I’m an undergrad student currently enrolled at STLCC and have to do at least two more semesters before I can transfer.
I’ve had a really hard time finding a good art therapy program (and heard rumors today the one at Webster may be going away entirely, womp womp.) but a friend who is also going to be transferring to your lovely lovely little school suggested this program to me, so I have to ask - has anyone here taken it? What did you think?
For students who aren’t enrolled in that program but may know someone who is - pleeeeease get their opinion or tell me loosely quoted what they’ve told you. I’m of course going to look more into it before deciding, but I really want some different art therapy programs to choose from and the pickings (at least if I stay at home) are scarce. Thanks!
Any advice on taking this? What level would you say it's like. How difficult/how much studying should I do? Any example from taking it?
i live in bluff hall & it’s becoming pretty well known that something is making the kids on the 2nd and 3rd floor sick. my friend found black mold & the school said there was nothing they could do about it, which is crazy because what if it spreads—had it not spread already? i’m fighting sinus and congestion issues as well as small dry patches on my body & excessive ache outbreaks.
i am paying to live here but at the cost of my health?? is it like this at cougar and evergreen too? i refuse to put my health on the line when i could easily find a off campus apartment next year.
Can go fuck yourself.
I recently got accepted to the SIUE and was invited to apply for meridian schlorship. The email I received from the uni told me to put my email and enter forget password after which I will receive a email with the link. I did what I was told but I didn't receive any email . What should I do now need genuine suggestions help me guys 🙏
I submitted my application for a graduate program at SIUE for the Spring 2025 intake about a month and a half ago. As an international student, I understand that they receive a large volume of applications, but the wait for a decision feels excessively long. I know this might not be the ideal platform to share this, but I just needed to express my frustration. With only a few months left before the intake, I’m worried that if the decision comes too late, I won’t have enough time to schedule my visa interview and complete all the required preparations.
Normally, spiders are more of a minor nuisance to me (other than being helpful with dealing with other bugs, obviously. I mean nuisance in the sense of they’re kinda creepy and get into everything, sort of like a baby lol) and I was just wondering if there was any way to keep them out of my room? I live in Cougar Village, and Im fine with them hanging out in the living room with their favorite windows and bugs, but I need my room to be off limits because it’s where I sleep. Like, I had a spider on the inside of my window (between the panes) that looked like a black widow (it wasn’t, because it didn’t have any of the markings, but it had the general shape) and I got too nervous to sleep in my room. He’s gone now (I don’t wanna know where he went) but the worrying about spiders has been a constant battle and I really don’t want to kill them, just repel them. I made a spray out of lemon essential oil, water, and dish soap to spray around the windows, bed, and corners of my room, and I have a eucalyptus wax melt going as well, but I’d really like to know if there’s anything else I can do to keep them out
Update: that dumb b** black spider was just trying to give me a heart attack. He’s still safe and sound inside the window lmao. Good luck buddy, I hope you catch all the gnats you want. Just stay in there lol
It’s been a while since i spoke on here so hey everyone! I got accepted into SIUE(southern Illinois university of edwardsville) and I’m so happy to finally further my knowledge and hopefully become a dentist at SIUE! but ( not saying I don’t have hope for myself) I’m scared of taking the college placement test. I’ve worked so hard throughout the years to just pass classes and I finally got my gpa up to a 3.0. It’s not the writing portion of the test but the math portions I’m scared about. Me and math are toxic lovers if that makes sense. I love it and enjoy it but sometimes I honestly hate it and it’s infuriates me and in order to be places in proper classes I have to pass that test and I’m scared that I won’t do well. I guess I’m just asking for some help on what you college grads did to do well on the test and I’m also open to hearing any college advice on how to succeed in college in general. Thank you for listening! ( also tell me what may be on the test because YouTube doesn’t help really well)!
Any Human Resources majors at siue?
has anyone else had problems with having lots of stink bugs lately? I have killed so many. I have nothing out that would attract them and keep my room clean. What have you guys done to keep them away permanently? I thought it might be from a crack in my window and got tape just now. Anything else?
I recently got my visa and I will be attending Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I don't know how things are gonna be but I hope it's gonna be okay. I still have 2 month to go and I am from Nepal. I am not sure what other step I need to take, I don't have anyone I know there so I don't know how I will adjust.
I also what to know about the living expenses on and off campus and how that works as well. Looking for guidance.
I live in cougar village and I've had a letter sent to me, do they email you to know it's arrived? And do you just pick it up at the counter at the commons?
How is the human resources major at SIUE? What are the courses like? Are they time consuming...? Let me know everything I should know about this major!
Does anyone know how much it costs to replace a lost room key? My son lost his room key and key fob to his car last Sunday. No one has turned it in yet.

These dudes really never heard of seasoning before huh?
My fiancé and I recently got an apartment available for us through family housing at cougar village. I took a quick check on the price again (around 6,600 per semester.) is it worth it? am I making a mistake? I don’t have much debt with the rest of my tuition because luckily it got paid for through grants. Now we’re looking at taking a loan for just the family housing alone. What do yall think?
My son called this past weekend and said he had a brown recluse spider in his bathroom. I figured it was a wolf spider and he was just assuming it was a brown recluse. Well today he saw it again, caught it and took it outside and let it go (You just have to know my son. I would have stepped on any spider in my room! But he’s just a kind soul to every living creature!) He took a picture and I’m afraid he’s correct! Where should students report pests in their dorm room? For now I guess I’ll order him some glue traps?

The fries (when they weren’t raw) were all they had going for them. No way I’m gonna get a nasty hours-old patty if I can’t at least wash that slop down with fries. 0/10, can’t recommend.
Is there any bus stops from the Cougar Shuttle that is close to the Engineering Building or are they all near Peck?
has the house registered internet been slow for anyone else in cougar village today? specially on the 400 side?
Tomorrow marks the one week anniversary of my first time at the gym. Let me start with love. The facility is great. Nice machines, plenty of courts, and a good plethora of equipment. But some of the hospitalities is leaving a lot to be desired.
I usually bring my water bottle any time I hit the gym and fill it at a station. The first day I went on a hunt for a station. The most accessible one near the entrance has a yellow filter status. I don’t know about yall but I’d prefer not to drink that. So my search continued, I ended upstairs by the other set of cardio machines before I found another station. Luckily this one had a green filter status. Warm water but a good status at least.
Today I’m at the gym around 6pm to let off some steam only to be met by a young student TELLING me “past this point water only”. This hasn’t happened any other time I’ve been. As usual I have an empty bottle with me. Caught off guard I genuinely asked the question “we can’t have Gatorade”. We had a back and forth out of my confusion and his assertion. He never asked me “what’s me what was in my cup”. He thought I had Gatorade…it was empty.
So my tuition dollars are going towards a facility which:
Doesn’t have the decency to have fresh water filters in the stations AT THE GYM, AT THE START OF A NEW SEMESTER
A water only facility. Mind you they sell Gatorade at vending machines in the fitness center. SO YOULL TAKE MY MONEY, but I can’t replenish my electrolytes while working out???
Have a little twerp telling me it’s water only facility. Instead of simply asking me if anything is in my bottle.
I don’t mean to be a jerk but we’re paying for these facilities and I feel like our voices should be heard and acknowledged. 🤷🏾♂️
P.S. I asked someone behind the front desk if the filter can be swapped. She told me she would leave a message for whoever is above her.
I’m curious how long it will take to be replaced.
My friend and I have had a duo band for a few years, all acoustic folky stuff so it's not loud or anything, and I was wondering if it was allowed for us to perform in the quad if we don't have class. I figure if the whack job preacher can tell us we're all going to hell for 5 hours straight we can play some music for 45 minutes right?
