Hi so I am a Texas resident applying to SHU because they offered me a possible $62k-$82k total scholarship over 4 years aswell as a free application fee waiver . I was recently emailed that I would have to do a 250 word essay or an online interview with someone from SHU .I am marginally above their average stats but have pretty solid ECS .Am I cooked ?
Did anyone who submitted EA get their decisions today?
Hi Seton Hall students! I work for a NYC-based news outlet and I'm currently helping out on a story about university policies towards AI.
One angle we want to highlight is how imperfect AI detection tools can be used against honest students. I'm hoping to get in touch with a student whose work was falsely flagged by a detection software (Turnitin, GPTZero) and accused of using AI to cheat on an assignment.
If you have a story like that and are interested in sharing, please send me a message! Thanks!

I was hoping to get more information (first-person accounts) about the MHA program (hybrid version) at Seton Hall? How soon can you finish the program? What is it like taking it online?
I’m an incoming freshman and my roommate just told me that they will not be attending. Its really close to the start of term so does anyone know if I will be given another roommate or if I will just not have one for the time being?

Hey, did anyone ever find the admitted students chat? Also looking for a roommate in the Newark area
Im a potential incoming Freshmen! I recently visited SHU at their admitted students day and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the campus! However, I do still have some remaining questions. I would greatly appreciate if any former/current SHU students could respond!!
Hello, I'm reaching out to connect with someone who is currently enrolled in the program I've been admitted to for the Fall 2024 term. As an admitted student, I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice you could provide. Thank you in advance!
Does anyone understand what the pirate pathway program is? I am assuming I got put into it because of my lower GPA. Can you still graduate on time if you are accepted to it? Is it worth taking or should I go to a different college.
DOES ANYONE HAVE A SPARE TICKET FOR THE GAME ON WEDNESDAY 3/6???
Considering coming back to finish undergrad after a long layoff, how are virtual classes working? Are most classes offered virtually?

hi idk if anyone is active but i am currently a senior in high school trying to make my college decisions! i visited recently and love the campus (wasn’t a huge fan of the dining hall pizza, but whatever), its perfect for my future career as i want to work in sports and i like the NJD, but is the campus life fun?
Hey everyone, this is Joe, one of the co-founders of Coursicle. I wanted to let everyone know that we just launched Coursicle Chat, which is basically a group chat for every class. We launched at a handful of schools last semester and the response was solid so we decided to roll it out further. It's a very new product, so would love any feedback you have!

Here's a screenshot of our growth since after we launched at more schools if you're curious: https://imgur.com/a/s8IhVeZ
So I was recently talking to a new graduate and she was (like I’m sure many of you will be) surprised to learn that SHU actually made the top 10 party schools in the nation for multiple years in the early 1990s. Part of that was the close proximity to NYC but a big part was likely the very active bar scene in South Orange, Valisburg, and the surrounding areas. If memory serves me, there were about 20 bars that were common stomping grounds for SHU students. That said, I’ve only remembered the following:
Paulie’s Tavern (3 blocks to the right out front gate) The Hall (2 blocks to the right out front gate) Cryan’s Ryan’s Stuft shirt Toro Loco Old homestead The Straw Hat
In addition, there was the SHU Pub, an Asian restaurant downtown that offered certain drink night specials (and nifty cocktails in funky glasses) that I can’t remember the name for, and an after hours club that was back set (out the gate to the right a few blocks and then set into the suburban streets), which also had a name that eludes me….however, I am still missing a number of establishments. Does anyone have any info they can provide about the bars I left off the list? If anyone is interested, I started collecting pictures and hope to get photos for all the places and then create a post—if you have any you want to share, I’d greatly appreciate…
So I am looking into transferring into SHU from Fordham because of my financial situation. I plan on studying accounting or finance and have the option of going to Rutgers - New Brunswick or Seton Hall University. The problem is, I really think I love Seton Hall because it is a small Catholic university with what seems to be a gorgeous campus.
The problem is, people have always made it out to seem like the private Catholic version of Montclair State where anybody gets in for undergrad, has low rankings, and doesn't have a "renowned" or "prestigious" name as other schools like Rutgers. I am not at all saying it is a bad school, its just that it doesn't seem to be as respected or famous as a school like Rutgers.
I also plan on moving out of state, and have heard that the farther you go from NJ, the more respectable Rutgers will become, especially since people know more about Rutgers all over the country and the world as opposed to Seton Hall where mainly people from the northeast NJ know about it.
I really like Seton Hall and want to go, but feel like I do not want to turn down Rutgers just because it is a much more known and respected name. I should also note that I am a first-generation student, so the "prestige" of the degree means a lot to me and my family. What do you guys think?
Hi- I am a junior in high school looking at SHU for Fall ‘24. Is there a discord server with current students that I can talk with? Thanks
Seeing as all the dorms are currently booked, I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on seeking off-campus housing. From out of state but in my sophomore year, so Im familiar with campus and the surrounding SO area.
I've looked into roommate opportunities in the area but have mostly just found other students looking for housing.
Any help is appreciated!
I'm moving to a new state in a few weeks and looking to find home for an Ikea Kallax 2x4 bookcase, a gray love seat, a three piece kitchen table and chairs, and a lot of dishware/kitchen supplies. Message me if interested! must pick up
Hey guys! I have been accepted into Seton Hall Law School. While I am not 100% sure if I'll attended, I am interested to hear what the general opinion Seaton Law is?
Also, I am coming from the Midwest (Nebraska) and have never visited the area. Is there any general Newark/NJ/NYC advice especially apartment recommendations? Culture difference between the Midwest and Newark/NJ/NYC? Thanks a lot everyone!
