Here are some guidelines to posting
1) Questions:
No matter what your skill level, whether you are a beginner who can't register a single image to a blank sheet of paper or a print god who yawns and lays down a four-color halftone perfectly with no hinge clamps or registration marks, there are ALWAYS questions.
Please refrain from posts that ask across-the-board questions.
i.e. I'm new to SP, where should I begin???
Try to be more specific.
i.e. Hey I'm new to this, what type of ink do you guys suggest I start with and what are the differences in types of inks?
However, there's nothing wrong with general discussion...
2) Links:
Any links to videos, articles, websites, et. al. relating to screen printing. No advertisements or spam.
3) Tips&Tricks:
Share knowledge! Every screen printer does things a little differently; share your techniques
4) Shameless Self Promotion:
Show us your work! Be proud of what you do, showing off your work could easily influence and inspire others! Be warned: pics are fine, but if it's too "spammy" your post will be removed.
5) NO SPAM

We’ve had our transparency printer for about 4.5 years. Recently we received an error code with two lights that we can’t get through trouble shooting. Customer service wants us to bring it to the closest Epson center to check it out which is about 6 hours away.
Is it worth it to go in and have it looked at? Will the price of fixing it be worth it instead of just buying a new transparency printer? Ours ran with the all black conversion kit, but if we should just buy a new one does anyone have recommendations on what we should purchase next time around?
Doesn’t have to look identical, but I’m assuming it’ll have to be a simulated process. What would I have to do in photoshop to make this ready to print?
Peace printers. I’ve been at it for bout a year now. I’ve got some in shop experience as well.
I’m looking to purchase a good, affordable flash dryer. A conveyor would be more ideal, but not quite in the budget.
I know an adjustable dial is a must. Any recommendations?
Currently look at that one
Hey guys. I’m a photographer/ videographer for my 9 to 5 job and am just starting out trying to have a little side hustle where I go to weekend craft markets and sell some prints. But prints aren’t for everyone so I also wanted to also print them on tshirts and use my photos to design hats and other merch too.
After some googling I was pretty overwhelmed. There are a TON of companies that do that but I have no experience with any of them. Some look legit, some look scammy.
Ideally I would like a quality product like a fitted T not a regular old Hanes shirt that shrivels up in the dryer or becomes all warped and weird looking after a few washes. And of course a quality print that won’t fade or crack. By bulk I mean maybe 5 of each size and a couple hats to start with and go from there.
I was hoping someone here would maybe have a suggestion? Even if it’s a more appropriate sub to post in.
EDIT: I do intend to get an LLC. I think you need a tax ID for some of the bulk sites. Right now I’m just doing homework and getting all my ducks in a row before I announce/launch anything.
I was assuming that it was a screen print, but then I noticed the slight gradient on the green and I doubted myself. I did not know that was possible to do with screen printing (but I’m a complete beginner, so don’t really know anything).
Thank you for any info you can share!
So, I’ve started to screen print and I’m finding that after a few pulls, the design is losing detail and I’m having to jetwash the screen every few pulls just in order to keep the details crisp. Is there anything I can do to negate this? I’m using Daler-Rowney System 3 waterbased ink on a 62t mesh.
Thanks in advance
Water based white, liquidy
195 mesh, 40LPI
2 pulls with flood, 1 pull with no flood
I did not print, flash, print.
Just wondering if anyone knows if any such substance exists before I start trying stuff. I'm trying to salvage some bad prints so it would be very helpful! Thanks for your advice!
I am looking for someone who can screen print a 18.75” x 24” front print and 18.75” x 27” back print. One color design.
Hey guys. When doing a simulated process print, with let’s say 4 colors. Do you need a special type of ink, or do you just use regular old ink? Also, for yours colors, do you mix them or do you have to order them custom?
I got this design I want to print and I'm just not sure what mesh I should be using for each layer (using plastisol ink). What mesh would yall recommend for the base layer, as well as the red and black? I'm also trying to figure out if I can get away with putting the white layer on the same screen as the base, or if it's a safer move to just separate them. These designs are 15x18in and the other is 15x10in if that matters. Any advice or tips help!
New here. New in general. Would love to replicate the material used to make this logo. I keep searching but no definite answer. Thanks in advance.
These kind of shirts were popular back in the day. Were they just iron on letters? I want to make some simple shirts with band names/ artist names
Currently soaking (light spray with shower mode on nozzle) for 8 minutes before washing out with great results. Wondering if I can go longer.
Would soaking for 10-15 minutes degrade the emulsion?
HELP! Is it ok to put PVC inkjet transparency film in a laser printer? I know that sounds like a dumb question but I haven't been able to find anything online, and the transparency I can find is almost all for inkjet printers. I have found specific transparency film for laser printers but it was oddly obscure. And they seem to made out of the same material. If anyone can figure it out that'd be very helpful :)
Im new to screen printing btw
So I’ve tried around 10ish times to photo print on screen- 60w speedball blacklight- 7- 10-15 minutes- I try and rinse out and the Emulsion and the lines are never clean- always like this.. any advice for a newbie? Plz and thank you.
Help please, I'm using the water-based ink of green galaxy comet (good quality) but when I pass the ink there are those traces where it doesn't grab the ink well, I don't understand. The mesh I used a few times it was detightened but I tightened it again, but I cleaned it with ecotex remover emulsion although with another type of emulsion (speed ball) I now use a pwr ecotex. Any idea how to have better results?
