Here are some guidelines to posting
1) Questions:
No matter what your skill level, whether you are a beginner who can't register a single image to a blank sheet of paper or a print god who yawns and lays down a four-color halftone perfectly with no hinge clamps or registration marks, there are ALWAYS questions.
Please refrain from posts that ask across-the-board questions.
i.e. I'm new to SP, where should I begin???
Try to be more specific.
i.e. Hey I'm new to this, what type of ink do you guys suggest I start with and what are the differences in types of inks?
However, there's nothing wrong with general discussion...
2) Links:
Any links to videos, articles, websites, et. al. relating to screen printing. No advertisements or spam.
3) Tips&Tricks:
Share knowledge! Every screen printer does things a little differently; share your techniques
4) Shameless Self Promotion:
Show us your work! Be proud of what you do, showing off your work could easily influence and inspire others! Be warned: pics are fine, but if it's too "spammy" your post will be removed.
5) NO SPAM
If your post doesn't post, message a mod.

I'm going for a vintage look where the white ink looks faded or washed out a bit. The ink is super thick in the jar, so I'm wondering if thinning it out is possible, and if that will help achieve the look I want. TIA for any help!
Hi fellow Screenprinters!
I have the opportinity to buy a used Vastex V-2000HD 6/6 at a suspiciously low price.
I'm still a bit of a noob, so I was hoping you fine folks could enlighten me on what to be aware of and what to check when I get a chance to inspect the unit for wear and tear.
Any known weak spots? What to check specifically? Any reason to worry, when the price is less than 1/4th of its original retail price?
I grew up with the early learning that "anything that sounds too good to be true ...usually IS". ;) Then again, I feel like passing on the opportunity to grab it might be passing on a once in a lifetime deal? Please fill me in!
Also, am I correct in my conviction that this press is basically a "tank" and anything brokenn should be easy to fix?
I feel like this might be a chance to get a press I'd otherwise never be able to afford, at least not within the foreseeable future. Then again, I might just be blind to the obvious?
Any info on your experience working with and servicing this press might be helpful. So I'll be thankful for any input you might want to share.
Mike
For my first time screenprinting, I’m happy with how these turned out!
I got pink emulsion and an uv exposure unit i bought for cheap (one of those $60 amazon ones) I wanted to know if anyone knows if I should leave it for a long period of time or leave it for less than a minute or so before I try to burn it
1.What do I need to fix? 2. When I do a stretch test does the ink suppose to look like cracks on half tones?
been looking for blank gildan hoodies preferably hoodies and with no minimum required in la for the longest i’ve been in the fashion district but i need the stores that got it, SOMEONE SAVE ME
Haven’t touched a manual press in like 2 years. Been working the auto at the shop. Did this little number, I think it was a back order. Nice little one color halftone with solid spot color.
I’m having trouble finding a screen printing station thing! I really need one of these but I can’t find them anywhere?? I live in Australia, does anyone know a reliable place I can get one? Thank you so much!
I was so worried when exposing this. So glad it turned out okay!!
Hello all,
I am a beginner to screen printing. The issue I’m having is that even before exposing my screen, the emulsion washes out only with high pressure (jet setting on garden hose less than 1cm away from the screen). I coat my screens in nearly complete darkness and just have my phone flashlight on about 2 ft away from me pointing at the floor, not pointing near the emulsion/screens. I dried the screens overnight in my basement, with no light on, wrapped in 2 layers of black cloth. I attempted to make about 10 screens this way, and just now tried to wash a screen with no exposure, and it took the same amount of pressure to wash as when I cured it. There should be no way that these screens were exposed to light. I cleaned all the screens with dawn prior to coating them. I am using EcoTex PWR, that I bought less than a week ago. Does anyone have any ideas what the in world I could be doing wrong?
Thank you so much for any help in advance.
I was wondering what wholesale companies you’re using for ink and T-shirts/hats. Are you using separate wholesale companies?
Are you using an LLC?
This would be for the United States specifically Los Angeles
Thanks in advance This sub rules.
I’m running into a wall where my ideal hat with embroidery would cost what I had in mind for resale- bummer! Trying to keep prices low so broke traveling kids like myself can afford it. Exploring different avenues of styles and applications.
What are y’all’s experiences with creating a graphic on a hat that can take a beating?
Thank you for your input!
I understand that creating separate screens for each shirt size would be more expensive and time-consuming, so it's not always practical to adjust the design size. But in that case what’s the point of vectorizing an image if it doesn’t get resized anyway?

Hey so I know this is a screenprinting sub, but it had the most members and I'm thinking I'd get more responses / opinions here, with others doing DTF transfers than I would in other subs.
From a bunch of research I have found that the Next Level 6210 and Next Level 3600 shirts have been the most popular for athletic fit + quality shirts or their price point
I am going to be doing DTF transfers and I've also heard it's best to do them on 50/50 or 60/40 blend material, and i just received the 6210 samples today and I love em... but I am wondering if any of you have done DTF transfers on the 3600's and how the quality is after a few washes.
I've seen most people say don't do DTF on 100% cotton, but ive also seen people say it's fine. That makes me wonder if it's a certain type of cotton that does better than others, i.e. ringspun cotton etc. for DTF?
Thanks
Just wondering if anyone can recommend any screen printers locally here in Georgia for some business.
I'm trying to make screens for ceramics and I'm stumped.
EZScreens was recommended to me, so I started with their premade ones and attempted to expose them and transfer my image. No luck really, except for the thickest areas of the line work. The image burned, but I couldn't get the emulsion out of the thinner lines.
I also tried using my cricut on the screens. The non-HTV didn't stick well at the edges so the image was blurry and the HTV's adhesive oozed into the edges of the negative space, creating gaps in the prints where the screen was plugged.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've attached an image of the type of image I'm trying to work with.
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate sub but I am seeking a little bit of discourse on these two Frank Kozik posters.
Backstory: The poster on the left has hung in my parents home for nearly 30 years. My father grew up with Morphine's drummer Billy Conway in Owatonna, MN. He was the best man in my parent's wedding. I have a few memories with the band as a kid - my parents have many, many more! My sister and I have been arguing over who will inherit this stunning print for nearly a decade which is pretty amusing to our dad. Anyways - I have been on the hunt for another poster for a couple years as a surprise to my family and lessen the tension a little bit. Sentimentally I would love the one my father owns but for the sake of my relationship with my sister I am ok enjoying my own edition of the print. (Bonus I get to enjoy it right now!) After a couple years of searching I was able to purchase this poster recently in wonderful condition however it wasn't until after I purchased it that I realized the differences.
Left image is the poster my father owns. I am not certain how he acquired it but my best guess is that it came directly from the band as I'm almost certain my father did not attend this show. The shading is more simplified, line work is thinner and it is not numbered or signed.
Right image is the poster I recently purchased online. The seller was a Kozik collector and the poster was said to be purchased directly from the artist. It is numbered (edition of 1750) and signed by Kozik.
I don't have much knowledge in this space and my research into the matter hasn't been too fruitful. I'm planning to reveal the poster to my family over the holidays but I would love to be able to share with them any details on their differences. My best speculation is that the left poster is a test print of some sort? Any Kozik provenance nerds in this sub?
