RULES:

I am looking for a Psychiatrist for my husband He has suffered from Major Depressive Disorder since he was a small child. It's like a dark cloud that has followed him his whole life, even during happy moments when he does feel joy.

He has tried so much medication. The latest two are Auvelity and Lamotrigine for depression and Propranolol and Alprazolam for anxiety. He does feel like his depression makes his anxiety worse and vice versa, but the depression is the bigger problem. His depression needs the most immediate attention (no suicidal ideation).

It just feels like these Drs are just throwing darts in the dark at this point. Does anyone have a Psychiatrist they Like/Love? We haven't had much luck with psychiatric nurse practitioners, but it could be just the ones we've been to. I really need to help him. I know many of you know what he's going through.

We are currently trying to find him the right therapist that he connects with. If anyone happens to also have a therapist that they reccomend, I would love to hear your thoughts as well.

We are in Cedar park but are more than willing to travel to find the right Doctor. Any advice would be appreciated.

Seems like Halloween is dead this year. Not as many houses decorated like before. I been to the trunk or treat and stuff other years. Anyone know a good place to take the kiddos to go house to house?

I'm a 24 year year old Mexican, I recently graduated from mechatronics engineering but I've always wanted to study in the states at least a semester, a master degree is not an option for now because of the expenses. I currently work for my family businesses in Mexico as design engineer but I have my own web development small business that I created a few months ago and it's starting to get clients. I've always wanted to study in the us but couldn't afford it till now. I'm looking for a 1-2 semester course or certification before entering with full time and energy to laboral life. It could be in UX design or CAD design or something related to one of my two jobs. I would like it to be in Round Rock or north Austin because I have friends in that area who I could stay with. Do you have any recommendations of schools or training centers?

I went last night as we had out of town guests. We sat from 7:00-7:30 waiting and they never came out. We could hear them and smell them! A man crossing the road yelled "if you are waiting for the bats, they don't come out no more- haven't come out in over a year!"

Is this still a good place to view the bats? Did I just get unlucky last night?

My wife and I voted early at separate times (same location) in Williamson County on Oct. 21, the first day of early voting in Texas for the upcoming general election.

The Secretary of State's website has a function where you can check to see if your vote (in-person or mail-in) was collected. I have checked the daily lists of collected votes from every day from October 21 through October 28 inclusive, and our names do not appear among the thousands on any of them.

I have received various explanations, including that if the information is sent to the state before my vote is accepted, it won't be on the site for that date, but will be reuploaded daily to correct it. We voted 7 days ago (and my wife voted first thing in the morning). Again, subsequent re-uploads have not caused our votes to be confirmed.

I have been told, "Don't worry, your vote will be counted", but the fact that they can't even produce a record that I voted does not inspire confidence.

The RRISD Hartfield Performing Arts Center at McNeil High is listed as an early voting location on both the Travis and Williamson county maps. I'm a UT student registered in Williamson planning on taking some friends with me registered in Travis to vote as well. Would we both be able to vote in the same area if both are listed on the county sites? The obvious answer feels like yes but I haven't heard of a polling station for two different counties before

Here is my petty vengeance for the month. I went to downtown Round Rock yesterday during the Diwali festival when there was absolutely no parking available anywhere. We drove around for 20 minutes looking for parking, finally found a lot. There were no signs or any no parking cones or anything, nothing to indicate that we couldn't park there. There were 2 other cars parked in this small lot, so we assumed it was okay since people were parking anywhere with available, legal, non prohibited parking. We get done with our night and find some asshole double parked all 3 cars in, i.e. perpendicular to our car. We couldn't get out, called the police to see if they could move it or tow it but they couldn't do anything since they said it was a private lot. We take an uber home and had to go pick up the car the next day. I see the business owner inside setting up shop the next day, apparently she is going to open the store this weekend. She tells us we can't park our car over night there, I told her we had no choice because someone double parked us. She goes, "oh yeah that was my husband. This is a private lot we just haven't put up signs yet" ....Kay, then don't complain when people park there? I guess since they're the business owners they think they can inconvenience others when they haven't done the due diligence to secure their own parking spots. So, fuck em. I won't be supporting the crystal shop on Main st and Mays and neither should you since the owners are assholes who think they can just do whatever they want even if it inconveniences others.

She has a car and is working. Got kicked out of her parents place, is with a friend right now. But she needs a place ASAP

Anyone know of a place in the area? Can be in Austin/etc

They did construction back in August/September and have been done with construction in that area for a while now.

To anyone who live next to 79 or may have some insights, is there a railroad crossing that’s still not a quiet zone between 35 and 130? RR established the quiet zone between 35 and Redbud a year or two ago. I’m not 100% sure about the Hutto side but it seems they also have the gates and lights at crossings as well. I moved to RR earlier this year and didn’t hear horns at all until I started getting woken up by them frequently since August. It seems that most train operators are sounding the horn around the Redbud ln area or a bit east of it. I know operators can still use horn in quite zone if they need to but is there crossings along 79 that’re still not quite zones? And why did they start using the horns since a few months ago?

Are there any laws stating I can’t have my horse chill in my front yard dressed as a my little pony for say, 5 hours on Halloween night? Also how can I find out if my HOA cares about this? Also yes I am already aware that horses are unpredictable and could bite a kid, etc, so I am strictly inquiring about the legality of the presence of the horse and not the consequences of any of the horse’s following actions.

I need to find a good OBGYN to replace my IUD and discuss hormones because I am perimenopausal. I'm in Cedar Park but I'm willing to travel. Anyone have any suggestions for someone you really like, who is gentle? Having my IUD replaced has been so extremely painful I almost passed out both times.

Also, the OBGYN's I've seen have been so dismissive about hormone replacement for perimenopause and it is so frustrating. Any suggestions would be so very appreciated. 🙏🏻❤️ I feel lost, overly emotional, exhausted, extremely anxious, depressed. Hot all the time etc.

Hi, this isn't really THAT important but I was wondering if there was a way to take action. I live in an okay neighborhood, not saying which one unless I need to clarify in the replies if someone asks. My neighbors are nice people as far as I know but their cars are LOUD. They constantly start up their cars and let the engine run, which would be fine if it wasn't so loud that it shakes the house. It scares my dog and sometimes they even do it late enough that it will wake me up when I'm trying to fall asleep. They also constantly drive the cars up and down the street, which I think is because someone living there fixes up cars for a living, because there's always at least 3 or more cars in their driveway. I feel terrible complaining about it but it is very annoying to hear and sometimes they even blast music from their cars that on its own shakes the house, and honestly probably kills their hearing. Think of the sound as standing right next to a loud speaker at a dance. It's annoying but I'm not sure there's anything we can do but just hope that they stop doing it, but I wanted to come on here and ask in case there is something because my dog is very very nervous about noises and she will run to hide under my bed or in the bathroom and in the case of the last time they blasted music insanely loud, she got so frightened she peed. Is there a way to stop this or should I just like. Get over it.

Edit: god i feel like it's gotten louder... 😰 they had their engine running very loudly around 11-12 last night and it kept me up.. and this morning while I was doing schoolwork they had their music blasting so loud that it rattled everything on the first floor... in all seriousness it was loud enough that I thought there was a thunderstorm starting. 😭 we just heard it happen again but thankfully not as strong but still strong enough to startle me as bad. They're blasting music right now, I think...
