So I recently started praying 15 decades of the rosary, and while I have not been doing it everyday, I do try to commit to it. Now I have a question regarding the correct method to pray the 15 decades as I sometimes spread the 3 rosaries across my day. Do I pray the creed, our father and 3 hail marys before every rosary and the concluding prayers and litany after every rosary, or do I do the introductory prayers at the beginning of the first and the hail holy queen etc at the end of the third?
Also do these rules apply to the 6 decade carmelite rosary?
Its been almost a year I pray 54 days rosary novena everyday. All my intention always granted… be consistent in praying and have faith nothing is impossible.Until now I still praying these rosary novena sometimes due to tiredness ,laziness ,etc. I missed a day or two but I make it up the next day… 🙏 https://www.reddit.com/r/Catholicism/s/DKqgwE0qY8
I was recently gifted a rosary that has a center charm of St. Jude Thaddeus instead of the Our Lady charm. I was curious if praying a rosary that has a Saint instead should be done differently or the same as a rosary that had a Marian charm?? Should we only pray on that rosary whenever we feel a need for them to intercede or can it be used as an everyday rosary as well?
Does anyone know how we came to have so many variants re: style of physical rosary construction? For example, where did the style that has the Our Father bead tied off by knots from the Hail Mary beads, which are left free flowing come from? Who thought chain rosaries were a good idea?
I've made rosaries in the past but would like to make rosary bracelets and have a few questions.
1.Should I use a crucifix or can I use a "basic" cross?
3.Should the Our Father beads be roses or can I use other flowers? Daisies, perhaps?
Any other suggestions or "rules" would be appreciated. Thanks.
I just got confirmed and want a rosary but don’t know where to get one. I’ve always used my hands. Can you get them at mass/in the church, and if not where do I get one?
My father starts chemo tomorrow for a cancer around his throat. Probably can’t have surgery on it because of the location. Please include him in your daily prayers/rosary. His name is Tom if you pray by name. He has 5 children, one of which is still in high school. He is a true testimony of the Catholic faith. Please pray for him.
Hello there, I am hoping to start a Rosary meeting at our parish once a week. I am just wondering if anyone is part of one of these groups and has a template of how theirs is run and the different prayers that are said etc. Thank you!
Hi Rosary people. I discovered the power of praying the rosary last summer and I feel that it is extremely powerful to connect with God, meditate, focus, bring peace in my heart.
I would like to do it every day. Even if I know what it makes me super peaceful and gives me moments of beauty, often I just don't do that. For no reason.
I would like to do it more. Something that can work is to share the moment with someone, but I don't know anybody that prays the rosary.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you and bless you!
I am traveling to the Vatican tomorrow and need help deciding which rosaries to get for my friends and their families. I was not raised Catholic, so I am unfamiliar with what the appropriate rosaries are for gifting as well as what is considered good quality and reasonably affordable (I am a college student with summer money to spare, but still shouldn’t break the bank). Friend #1’s father is very ill and friend #2’s grandmother is recovering in the hospital. Is there a good rosary for those who are sick or injured? Friend #3 comes from an Italian-American family and friend #4 wants one for his father. Though there is no specific occasion I am gifting them a rosary for, I would appreciate general recommendations for bead types and colors! From my understanding, rosaries blessed by the Pope are considered especially nice. I am attending a papal audience tomorrow (Wednesday), and I don’t know if it’s better to bring rosaries to be blessed at the ceremony or to purchase pre-blessed ones at the Vatican. Would it be silly to bring four rosaries to be blessed at the audience? I am not trying to be an annoying religious tourist, but I know it would mean a lot for my friends and their families if I were able to bring rosaries back for them, especially blessed ones. I’m sorry if my understanding of rosaries is incorrect, as I am not intending to offend. I have done some research online but got mixed answers, so I wanted to seek out a community that would have people especially knowledgeable! Thank you for your patience with me!
Hi, peace be with you, I’ve felt a strong pull to the rosary as of late. I’ve been pretty depressed nowadays. Also stuck in sinful habits. There was a time when breakthrough was nearer and I was beginning to experience some seeming calm and I think even some joy. But here lately it’s like im walking through a fog. just bogged down man. A Protestant friend told me the rosary (the Hail Mary specifically) is akin to witchcraft. But I’ve prayed it occasionally and it’s one of the very few things that has given me any semblance of victory and peace sometimes even sanity. But like if he’s right then wouldn’t that mean it’s just another sin? But if he’s wrong wouldn’t that mean it’s a powerful means of hope? Idk but like I was saying I feel a pull toward praying the rosary along with deep meditation of the biblical verses about the mysteries. Someone even told me it can help with repentance. I just really wonder about fully comitting to this. Advice? Testimonies?
I'll start off by saying I never particularly cared for Rugged Rosaries. I think the paracord rosaries serve a purpose; from all I've heard they are indeed very durable. However, I never cared for the aesthetic and found them a bit too cumbersome.
I did buy their WWI rosary which, side by side with an original from the First World War, isn't too faithful of a reproduction (but I understand where they're coming from, and the rosary is still pretty awesome).
I didn't know Rugged had a line of Miniature Rosaries until somewhat recently, and I bought two:
Miniature is the right word, each fit easily in my pocket, the Simple variation probably weighs in the single ounces. It's very humble and makes me feel like a Medieval villager. The Onyx bead version is also quite light and very portable, and also has a subliminally historical quality. I don't think I'd use either as an emergency zip-line, but worrying about them coming apart in my pocket is far from my mind.
I'll also add a plug for Rugged's customer service. I originally ordered this one:

but it was sold out (which I was happy to hear). Communication was prompt, friendly, and helpful.
I'm still not a fan of paracord rosaries and I don't think I ever will be, which is simply my personal preference. I couldn't be more pleased with either of these and readily recommend someone looking for a rosary equal parts durable and portable.
