Marlow should have stayed for season 5

She was an interesting character, I would have liked to see more of her.

Cast on FBI

I've started watching FBI where Missy (aka Andy) is one of the leads. In the pilot episode, the actress who played Noelle has a small role and there's some great scenes between her and Missy's character.

For anyone here who watches, will there be more cast cameos? I love when shows do this!

Andy appreciation post

I bet Andy (Missy) was the girl everyone on the show had a little crush on. Anyone else agree? She is sporty, amazing figure, beautiful, seems kind and funny.

watched for the first time

As a Canadian who loves procedurals (Criminal Minds, Castle, recently "The Rookie"), I am surprised I'd never heard of Rookie Blue until I had an Andy/Sam video on my tiktok FYP.

I'm an easy viewer, give me a couple to ship, and I'm hooked lol. The chemistry between Ben and Missy is great.

I found myself slightly annoyed at the soap opera level of romance messiness right off the bat, but I feel like it was balanced out well with the banter, crimes, and day to day policing. I'm also just a sucker for a show in Toronto! I love my province (mostly) so that's nice.

There were obviously some storylines I didn't love. You can't do 50+ episodes and make someone happy the entire time. But overall, I really enjoyed the pacing and storytelling. It's fresh and fun in a way a lot of procedurals aren't without coming off too corny.

I've been going on for a while but I just wanted to say that the finale is one of my favorites I've ever seen. I find that when the will they-won't they couples finally have their happy ending, it's rushed or out of character, but that was not the case with Sam and Andy! The story stayed true to them and those vows were beautiful.

I know Missy is currently booked and busy with FBI, and that the show met it's natural conclusion, but it's been about eight years since the finale and I think a reboot would be so fun!

TL:DR - recently watched for the first time, i love sam and andy, love the balance of drama and comedy, great finale.

Just finished the whole series. Loved it but…

Whatever happened between Dov and the sister of the guy he shot? Thinking back it feels like they had an almost romance one episode than she was never heard from again.

Short Rant: “Best Man” episode…

I am just finishing this episode and it made me very very suddenly exasperated.

For the last few episodes I’ve noticed a slight change in the tenor of the show, cases are a little more convoluted, sudden character changes…all that I’m fine with.

But the thing that really snapped me right out of the show was when Mcnalley and Swarek catch up to Chris Klem and ask him who bought the house explosives and he says Oliver Shaw.

And then proceed NOT to ask him what Oliver Shaw looked like, didn’t show Klem a picture of Oliver to confirm it was who he sold the explosives to, just a thing they have done probably dozens of times on the show.

It was so obviously just done to build drama and stretch out the story. So ham-fisted and unsubtle!!

Okay…I feel better. It is a wonderful show and I can’t wait to see how it ends.

Chris Diaz flop era?

Watched the whole series on Netflix. Diaz’s arc disappointed me. While some stayed cops and didn’t “advance” to detectives, the initial 5 rookies all seemed respected except for him. When they do the “integrity test” near the end of the series, Diaz feels notably left out to me. Anyone else pick up on this?

Dove and Gail

In season 2 I think, Dove said he and Gail kissed which caused Gail and Chris to break up, but .. they didn't show them kissing, just talking.

Did they explain this further or I miss something? I feel like I'm going crazy, bugs me every rewatch. Usually would just write it off but Gail and Chris breaking up is a relationship point for YEARS of the show so always weird to me.

Loved the ending!

Loved the ending with them all finding out they can stay and Oliver is there handing out the orders as usual. I do wish Andy had made detective or something though, feel like she should and could have been more than just a beat copper!

The one thing I am really sad about is how Frank and Noelle never really got a great send off! They just disappeared until Noelle popped up a few years later for two episodes!

Poison Pill

Really does my head in when McNally and Marlo are meant to be decontaminating and the Hazmat guy hands them the gowns to change into and Marlow is holding against their clothes which are full of the anthrax spores!

They should have stripped down, been showered down and then got into the clean gowns! Hate when things are so inaccurate!

I am always so torn between Nick and Sam

I first found Rookie Blue when I was getting over a pretty bad relationship and I was immediately drawn in. On my first watch I was rooting for Sam from the beginning and never gave anyone else a chance, I also was really mad that they cut their relationship short early on. I know that eventually they got back together but, by that point he had gotten with Marlo and there was so much outside drama going on that it made a lot of the fun and learning about each other stuff from earlier on disappear. On my second watch through I feel like Nick got shafted. He and Andy really had something and it was Andy/Sam's inability to let go of the past that stopped it from going anywhere. I don't hate how it ended or that Sam and Andy ended together necessarily as much as HOW they got there. As a couple I think they are decent and have learned to work through things and actually represent how it isn't always easy. I just wish the writers hadn't devoted so many episodes/seasons to Andy moving on and being with someone else for her to get back with Sam. They both had very different lives by that point and I find that part incredibly frustrating, Nick fit better with where she was in her life at that point and the strides she had made.

Edit: P.S. I don't actually expect any replies or interest in this, I know this is an old show. It's just one of my comfort shows I fall back on and I was about to go into rewatch #3 and wanted to share my thoughts/feelings somewhere

I prefer McCollins to McSwarek

I didn't think that McSwarek was all that healthy and it made me cringe tbh because he was her TO for a point and the entire relationship just felt very inappropriate.

McCollins was better, they were pretty cute, had a better chemistry, and functioned really well with each other in a way that none of their other relationships ever did.

How does no one knows that Andy McNally is Tom McNally’s daughter? How didn’t Oliver put two and two together??

Duncan was the worst character in the series

They made him so incredibly ridiculous. The selfies he kept taking to choking on peanuts during a death notification. He makes me cringe on second watch

I wish the scene where Steve Peck confessed to being dirty was with Gail or Tracy instead of McNally

Loved the show but the further in I get, I felt it starts to revolve around McNally to a fault. Peck getting caught redhanded destroying evidence by his girlfriend or sister who looks up to him would have been more impactful imo. The scene was great imo both actors killed it. Just a weird gripe of mine

Love the show. Has anyone else noticed all the Men on the show look the same.

Love the show. Has anyone else noticed all the Men on the show look the same.

All the Men have dark hair, cut short, same height, weight and build. And other stuff.

When I 1st started watching the show I literally could tell or keep the men separated. I didn't know who was who.

Does this show have an ending?

Or was it cancelled on a cliffhanger? Thinking about starting it but if it doesn’t have a “final episode” that makes sense I won’t bother.
