I have a tendency to do very dark roleplay so keep that in mind before DM me. Most people really haven't had a problem, but I've had some people say that I'm messed up for the stuff that I roleplay. For example if we are doing anything crime related there will probably be an interrogation or torture scene. If we are doing a plot that is heavily bared of romance then I will probably make my character almost die somehow. LONG STORY SHORT, I'm a drama queen with roleplay and some people don't like it. Isobel smiled widely as she watched the jester Arthur had gotten just for her. He was supposedly the finest in all the kingdoms so naturally Arthur had of course gotten the very best for his wife to be. Not that Isobel wanted or needed it. She’d only mentioned in passing that the jester was supposed to be the best and Arthur had booked him. Isobel held Arthur’s hand tightly all the way through the speech and looked at him with a look of the deepest love on her face. She was absolutely in love with him. She caught the look of the man named Lancelot and checked the look she was giving Arthur blushing as she did.

Sometimes Arthur infuriated her and drove her wild often driving her into the comforting arms of Merlin or Lancelot and belle knew it was wrong to do so. When her heart was so clearly taken by Arthur. Everyone in all the kingdoms could see it and many of them envied the love the two had Isobel suddenly felt a chill run through her and she intertwined her hold on Arthur something she always did when frightened. She gave Arthur one look with wide eyes not showing anything on her face. No emotion. Just a look in her eyes she knew he would understand. Isobel took a small sip of her drink but the poison wasn’t effective until she drank the entire thing. Before she could finish drinking from her beautiful golden cup she took Arthur’s hand and pulled him up for the first dance which the hosts always opened. “Come my love let us start the dancing.” she said as the jester sat and Isobel pulled Arthur up not seeing the figure in the dark.

But then the moonlight shone on Cendred’s face. Isobel was horrified. Terrified as she gripped Arthur’s hand tightly but she did not show any emotion on her face except a small smile for the crowd. She gently reached up and pressed a kiss to his cheek as a chance to whisper too him. “Somethings wrong. I know not what yet but I can feel it. Something is wrong here.”

Only once she was absolutely sure he was awake did Maki leave the room, humming cheerily as she began to prepare breakfast. Today would be eggs with veggies and rice.

Themes of Interest: I tend to like to mingle sci-fi with fantasy themes because I find it a fascinating for some ancient, powerful being to be introduced into a world where technology makes their strength and supernatural abilities obsolete. Or vice versa, a highly advanced civilization unlocking an ancient force that completely overthrows their way of life and reduces them to mere servants under an oppressive rule. Normal sci-fi and fantasy themes are fine as well. Medieval themes, modern themes, tribal themes, apocalyptic themes… All good too. So long as there is a hint of fantasy and nothing becomes too overly realistic and ordinary, menial and a slice of life role-play tends to bore me. I would like to explore horror and although I prefer psychological torment, some gore and physical harm is fine too. I do not mind anything NSFW and have no limits to such acts. However, vanilla acts do tend to bore me quickly… it’s just not my speed. Plus, I like a build-up. The chase. Moreso than the actual act of romance/sex. I enjoy a back and forth that might not even come to fruition or is stopped short. Dark, intense, and adult themes are more than welcome because I enjoy putting my characters under such strains. It’s just fun. However, that doesn’t mean things should be horrible for them all the time, I like variety and a varied pace within the story so it doesn’t become dull. I like to role-play for the long haul.

Theme Blacklist and/or limits: Slice of life, unless it starts out as an ordinary life that gets thrown into drastic circumstances, I want nothing to do with it. Immediate and illogical romance, either build it up naturally with characters that have chemistry or don’t bring it up. No fandom role-play unless I’m a huge fan of it. That’s unlikely though because I am only a hardcore fan of a few things. Using elements from a world you like as inspiration and implementing it within the story is fine. No furry-like characters unless it’s an established mythical race like a werewolf or something of that nature. Though even werewolves can get kind of cringe if not done right. Please, no one under the age of 21, it’s just weird for me.

Misc: I am a nerd, especially when it comes to art, space, aliens, Mass Effect, androids, Elder Scrolls, or Fallout. I enjoy video games and watching various things on YouTube. I am an artist whose roots in drawing started from anime styles and yes, I do like anime. I like the style of it and the aesthetic if it’s done with quality. I do tend to watch cartoons over live-action but enjoy Marvel and DC live-action series like Daredevil, Ironfist, or Arrow. The readings had been promising for the first time in months, revealing a sudden spike in energy so distinct that there was little question as to what it was. A pulsing emission line that mimicked the wavelengths of a star and yet the chemical fingerprint was... off. It was as if its mass was far, far smaller than anything possible within the celestial bodies. It had to be one of them, it just had to be, and once the scanners had established its location she knew it in her gut. A star-like emission line settling in the exact location of a life-sustaining planet without news of its destruction? There was little else it could be... but a being known as a Celestial. And so, with the signature saved into the navigational systems, the oddly lean and agile research vessel named the Beholder had set its course for Earth.

Despite the fact that she owned one of the fastest ships of the Effigy fleet, impatience and trepidation began to corrode away at the pit of her stomach with each second that passed by. It made the short trip there nearly unbearable.

The harsh hiss of the hydraulic door announced the arrival of the empyrean figure after the small rover shuttle touched ground. A female silhouette who seemed so untouched by the destruction and debris of this fallen city and so detached from this planet itself. Her attire reflected a taste that was not of this world; angular, black, and brushed copper-like metal armor all shaped into an outfit of functional refinement. A long-tailed coat made of fine black leather and gossamer fabric with whorling shapes cut into it at choice places, shaping its design to almost appear like a lace pattern. Granting a dark yet femininely noble style, as if she were some strange dark enchantress here to lay claim to a decimated land. Her legs were covered with near-black leggings and lean knee-high black leather boots that clearly matched her flowing coat.

From the shape of her facial features, it was apparent she was someone of considerable beauty but the lower half of her face was covered by a mask, sitting just beneath her nose and covering all of her mouth. It was clearly a piece of technology rather than ornamental due to the golden LEDs glowing from the audio transceiver seated before her mouth. The metal and silicone material was matte black and so thin that it nearly looked like the plates had been fused directly into her skin. This mask branched higher up her right cheek and haloed around the socket of her eye, it was a computer linked to the main hub of her ship.

As her gaze swept over the area, a holographic the same golden color as the face covering's LEDs popped up over her eye. It began scanning protocols over the surrounding area to deliver important data for her to read as she moved about. Her eyes were livid in contrast to the greys and browns of the ruined buildings surrounding her, the iris a stark icy blue and her pupils glowing with an ethereal white reflect that was nearly cat-like. There eyes were pale enough that at a distance she almost looked as if she were blind. Her waist-length, ochre hair held a faint hue of gold and reddish iridescence that was not natural in humans. It was tied loosely out of her face with a golden chain that had been woven into it. With her dark hair, warm sepia skin, softly angular features, and alien clothing, she looked as if she were an Egyptian goddess come to the mortal realms. Even the air about her seemed charged with confident aggression and seductive authority, like she would coax you into the comfort of her arms, only for her to then happily snap your neck.

A digital tone drew her attention from the horizon, peering at the indication icon that told her of where her query would be. To her surprise, it wasn't far from where she'd landed but she still felt the increase in her pulse from the anticipation, afflicted by the thrill of finally seeing a hunt draw to a close. Soon. So soon. Hopefully, it would be willing to converse with her. She wanted that so badly but there was a real risk that it would simply try to kill her... Which would certainly be exciting but equally disappointing all the same. With a soft, cleansing intake of breath, Rashida broke out into a sprint in its direction. Her footfalls were muffled by the leather soles of her boots as she slipped her way through the rubble and ruin in search of it. She prayed to the Prime that this was the being she was looking for. Could her heart take another failure to find one?

The pitter patter of raindrops fell down across the outside, with winds tearing through the branches as they echoed like Howlapes. He was pretty sure he heard thunder and lightning rain down upon the town many times over, and yet…

“Oh come now, it will be fine”.

“The water level on the street already seems to be up to my ankles, dad”.

Thirteen-year-old Rozu complained, but his father just shrugged, taking out a piece of paper, and saw words write themselves onto it. “Based on this, they didn’t delay the opening of the academy. Besides, you could always use a barrier to…”

Rozu gave his dad a deadpan stare, causing him to stop his words. Of course, his son could create barriers, as they both well knew. It was even one of his specialties, among a few others. However…

“Rain wont register against my barrier, and you know it”.

Even if barriers were his specialty, he was only a thirteen year old mage, and he had other specialties too. Alchemy, also known as the art of Potion Making, storm magic, and he was also decent in using Divinations. If anything, he could be said to be ahead of his class.

But maintaining a constant barrier for an hour straight that would keep out rain? That was hard, since it possessed less destructive power and force. General barriers protect one from high velocity attacks best. Furthermore, rather than total isolation, which could result in airflow issues and breathing issues, certain things often got through most barriers, such as water. There were barriers he could use, but maintaining them for however long he would be in the rain would be…tiring, to say the least. He would probably collapse from mana exhaustion.

Writing Samples: {{There were perks to living alone. None so petty or trivial as leaving the toilet seat up. His mother had trained that bad habit out of him before he'd even turned seven. But there were others. The sole resident of the all too large home in the woods west of New Salem enjoyed the freedoms of both a bachelor and a shut in, only taking company when it suited him. There was no one around to complain at the labyrinthine towers of books that were stacked in hallways, on the floors and furniture, wherever they could not be wedged into the massive shelves that lined the walls. No one barged into his downstairs workshop during the long afternoons or kept the grey cat that frequented the home from her daily business of rooting out the pests. There existed no one to badger him about his other less-than-neat collections of liquor bottles, beer down to the dregs, and overfilled ashtrays that cropped up at least once in every room like beacons of activity. To anyone else, they might have screamed 'help' or at very least 'look, someone lives here', but to the man that had put them there, they simply existed as yet more steps in the lengths he often went to in order to get some sleep.

The morning -- or was it evening? -- would have found Callan Roth in the same place his worst nightmares would usually put him: sat up in the tub and slouched in the corner, still in his clothes from the night before. The light was on, dispelling all shadows from the room and casting a sickly white glow over everything. It may have seemed almost sterile were it not for the semi-conscious warlock, soaked through to the bone, wincing awake under the stream of water that had grown bitterly cold after however many hours he'd spent under it. Wasteful, maybe, but effective in ridding himself of the abhorrent sensations just beneath his skin on the nights he would wake up in a cold sweat after dreaming of bones and blood. He groaned, stretched out a leg, and reached over the side to pick up what was now a heavily watered down beer and press it to his lips.

He'd taken maybe half a pull off the bottle when a light tapping reached his ear. At first, he assumed it was the pipes, finally sick of his shit and protesting the only way they knew how. Drowsily, Callan lifted a foot and kicked the lever into the off position with his heel, still nursing the drink in his hand as he did. But the noise persisted. It didn't fully occur to him that it was in fact the door until he heard the telltale thump of Little Miss jumping down off one of the shelves to go examine what intruder dared to come upon their doorstep. Swearing under his breath, he set the bottle aside and rose, weighted down by sopping clothes that he would discard on his way out, allowing them to drop wetly into the bottom of the hamper by the door in exchange for the dry pair of jeans that had been laying over the edge of the same bin. Really, it should have been fine. He was fairly certain he'd only worn them once.

Still zipping up his jeans as he dodged three more piles of books in the hallway, the voice reached him. He didn't need to see outside to know who it was. However, the 'urgently' bit he did find somewhat concerning. Though it mustn't have been that urgent, he told himself, as she hadn't simply stormed in as everyone and their gran liked to do. The door was almost never locked after all. Nonetheless, he hastened down the stairs, leaping the rail toward the lower landing so as to avoid another stack of leather bound compendiums on at least six different subjects, although the maneuver itself was lazy at best, and the cat turned her head from where she sat in the window to judge him as he landed heavily, a sharp pain shooting up through the ball of his foot. "Piss off" he hissed at the animal, eliciting no response.

Limping the first two steps toward the door, Callan paused only a moment to lift a flannel button down off the hook near the door where it had rested beside his jacket, smokes and lighter still tucked in the chest pocket. He made sure it was at least half buttoned before pulling the door open. There was an attempt to be presentable. All things considered, it couldn't be called bad for short notice.

"Grand Matron," he greeted her, not at all bothering to mask his surprise as a hand moved to sweep back his still dripping hair. She seemed...anxious, if not outright distressed. Blue eyes darted past her into the trees for all of a moment before he stepped aside. "Come in." The warlock would linger only to close the door behind her. "You know, you could have summoned me," he told her, more assurance than bitter comment. New management or no, Atrium Corvus was in Esme's care now. So long as he sided with them, his duty was to her wherever matters of the coven were concerned. "Can I get you anything?" came the automatic offer as he gestured vaguely to the whole of the book strewn den for her to make herself comfortable. Though it wasn't long before the more important question leapt off his tongue. "What's urgent?"}}

I like my stories grim, realistic, full of danger and uncertainty, but punctuated by very human moments of hope, humour and light-heartedness. Springing from that, while I'm happy to write smut, I don't like for it to be the main focus, and I prefer a long, slow burn leading up to it.

Theme Blacklist and/or limits: I have never reached a point, in all my storytelling, where I've had to draw a line. Probably because the worlds I'm drawn to most are bleak or violent in some way, and because my partners have been respectful and realistic in their expectations. That's not an invitation to test me needlessly, however, or to say I won't respect the limits set by my partners. Open and frank communication is key.

Misc: I enjoy out of character chat and getting to know who I'm writing with, even if only on a superficial level. You never have to share more than you're comfortable with, of course, but I find having a rapport helps with the longevity of the story. Even if we just swap fan art, talk plots and flail over our story. If I get suitably invested, I like to make playlists, mood boards, even commission art, etc. Also, I'm ghost friendly. The darkness of the night had overtaken the mountains, and the grass took on it's blueish hue. The moon was high. If this had been happening at a different time in her life, perhaps she would sit down and admire the view. She would point to the constellations and hear her mother praise her for remembering. She would feel the wind on her cheek and the grass and dirt and roots of their family tree entangle itself around her body and keep her snug and warm. She would watch her father, smile beneath his beard, and watch his red-brown hair fly back in the wind and all she could think of was how lucky she was that he was her father.

But all she can see now is red. Red hair. Red skin. Red eyes. Red blood. Her mother, bathed in red. Her brother, hanged by red. Her father, made up burning shades of red.

And now red that poured out of her wound like water. The arrow had stabbed right through to the other side. She had tried multiple times to heal the wound, to take the arrow out. But she was so weak. She hated it. She could barely conjure anything. She was so tired. She had been running for days. Her hair was matted. Her skin was so pale, but it was red from the running. More red.

She managed to lose them miles ago, but she just wouldn't stop running. She hadn't the peace of mind anymore. She walked out of the forest and into a clearing, panting and looking around. Blood dripped down her arm like petals. Her eyes were bright violet.

A shining, rich violet.

She notices a figure in the distance and begins to drag herself more towards it. A male figure. She whimpers. "S-sir...? Sir..." She can't even speak. Her eyes widen. The figure turns around and all she sees is the image of her father, staring back at her. He smiles honey-slow, and she blinks.

It isn't her father, but someone else. "S... sir...! P-please...!" It was all she said before she fell into the arms of unconsciousness. She was seeing too much red. Now all she sees is black.

A small passage from "The War of the 12", though the words were very obscure in comparison to the rest of the accounts of the ancient wars. She had hoped to gain some greater understanding of her own doom within them, but no such luck. Aelwyd was only part Alsporian, so surely she didn't bear this so called curse? And this "thing" she carried, did it make her any more of an Alsporian than she already was? She didn't know and had no way of knowing yet. 
The young Cangen closed the book, spouting vulgarities at herself for not asking Ilwar during her visit. The old Fox had told her all she wished to know yet not once did she perceive to ask whether Adbreran's were held to the same fate...whatever that fate was. Regardless, she would soon have her time to learn.
Arrangements had already been made. Two more days and she would slip away into the East to meet Jameu Arey. There Aelwyd hoped to rid herself of her burdens and hopefully leave all this nonsense behind. Still, she wasn't eager to leave. The farthest she had ever been from home was a short voyage south into the land of Jutreh, but that country wasn't too different from her own. Alla was another story. The peoples of Alla still unfairly held some bitterness against the Norelt peoples and tensions were always high. Not to mention the uncertainty as to whether or not Jameu would help her at all.

Original Universes: It depends! If I am using something like my Yautja oc, I’ll use an already created universe. Sometimes it’s one I’ve created. I tend to not do fandom rps very often (I’m not familiar with many fandoms.)

Misc.: A surefire way to make me angry is it you control my oc. Do NOT control my oc. I’ll just stop the role play right then and there. I can rant on and on about this. I’m not going to though. Also, just don’t be creepy. I hate when someone I don’t know says things like “you’re probably cute.” I will just straight up block you. I don’t tolerate creepiness like that... it makes me feel very unsafe.

Writing sample: This is one of my shorter responses to a previous role play (they’re usually not this short anymore). It’s just to give you an idea of my writing style. I originally wanted to post a reply that was 5 paragraphs, but didn’t want to bore you... (Butu is a dog btw)

Zai’sath and Butu were more than confused. Zai got up and looked around the surrounding area. This wasn’t familiar to her. Butu sniffed around, but stayed close to Zai as she didn’t give him permission to go anywhere, and he was too lazy to anyways.

“Who are you?” Zai’sath asked as she looked up at the stranger who rescued them. Because her ship was gone, she wasn’t able to give him a gift of gratitude for saving them

Gender: I am female. However, I have written male and female characters in the past. I have yet to write trans characters but I am open to it. I admit, these days, my female muse is strongest. Please don't let that discourage you though. I really don't care about your gender. Just be a nice person, understand the difference between in-character and out of character, and tell a compelling story. If you can do that, we'll craft a marvelous tale together.

Roleplay Background: Um. Another hard question. xD I grew up writing. It's always been a passion of mine alongside reading. A few years ago, I discovered an online forum and wrote there for a number of years. I jumped around a lot, from writing mostly in group stories to 1v1s. Both are enjoyable. As far as content, I don't mind modern stories, absent of magic and filled with the challenges of life. Other times, I will sprinkle magic into stories. Think Misfits. Full fantastical stories are fun as well. I also enjoy creating characters within existing worlds. I love the world of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and so forth. I swear, every time I see a new movie or television show, I start thinking of a character. Original worlds are welcome too.

Original Universes Y/N: Yes and no. I'm okay with both. I will not write original characters.

Themes of Interest: Modern, Fantasy, End of the world, Modern Mythology, Dystopians, and a lot more! I tend to enjoy a splash of romance in all of my stories.

Theme Blacklist and/or limits: Historicals are a weakness of mine. Hardcore science fiction is another one too; think stories which take place in space. I love reading them but struggle to write them.

Misc: Again, I am new to this writing anywhere other than on a forum. I would appreciate it if you were patient with my inexperience. Steamier scenes are fine with me. These scenes should be an added condiment, not the meat of the story. Smut, for me, becomes boring if there isn't a plot involved and if it happens all the time. I do like to talk with my partners. It just helps me feel more comfortable and less anxious. That said, we don't need to be best friends and I don't need to hear your life story. I'm flexible with post length. I can post a little or a lot. It all depends on where we are in the story. I value quality. One liners are not welcome though. :P Hard to respond to those.

English proficient! I’m not super fixated on grammar and spelling, but mostly proper use of those are preferred. I LOVE when accents are shown through writing, so if characters have a certain manner of speaking, then perfect grammar and spelling is not a must. Also, I understand if English isn’t your first language, so no worries there.Typos and awkward wording happen to some of the best English speakers, so I won't rip you a new one for being human.

Frequency: I work all week, so I will usually be busy throughout the day. I work an occasional weekend or evenings too. As much as I love to set some time aside just for roleplay (and will do so) I just can't dedicate a lot of time to it all the time. Original Universes Y/N: Yes. I prefer this, though I did get my start doing fandom RPs. I love world-building and character building. I miiiiight want to do fandom, but it's not very common for me anymore.

Themes of Interest: I can adapt to almost any setting. I’ve done (and really enjoy) realistic/ historically influenced, fantasy (modern or otherwise), cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, and sci-fi… and pretty much any amalgamation of 2 or more of these things. Fantasy is my specialty. Sci-fi is not a strong point, but I’m not bad at it.

As far as romantic relationship dynamics go, my primary character is often AFAB (assigned female at birth), woman or femme presenting. Could be ultra femme or someone that is more masculine with some femme qualities. I have no problem being the more masculine/dominant half of a pairing either. For some reference, two of my old partners and I would do doubling. They were hetero relationships. These tended to be closed relationships, but some were open. We would have other mains, edging towards supporting characters in some cases, but their relationship dynamics really varied in terms of gender, orientation, and monogamous/polyamorous. This is the type of dynamic I prefer if your mains are female only and hetero. I can't always play the more "dominant" or "masculine" role.

Theme Blacklist and/or limits: Excessive focus on romance or one particular couple tends to put me off (if the story has multiple couples to focus on, that is). Sometimes the story can shift to certain characters for longer than others, and that’s cool. I like some balance. In a similar vein, nothing totally revolving around sex. I won't roleplay smut, but I can get creative with some affection and then fading to black. My old partner was a friend for 12 years, so I really trusted them. I believe a lot of roleplayers place themselves in a vulnerable position by sharing their fantasies (SFW and NSFW) with others, so I think trust and good communication is absolutely valuable.

Misc: My expectation is to have a partner that is fairly laid-back but does like some structure, can be flexible, and is open-minded. I expect us both to respect boundaries-- coercion and manipulation has no place with me. I'd like my partner to understand that sometimes bad times happen, and RPing is not always desired. I'd like to be the same for you :). Always open to just listening or talking if something is troubling you.

Ice turned to snow, snow turned to water. When the fury of bitter white settled over the land, the storm within the Queen continued to rage on. Her slender fingers pressed to cold glass as they slowly traced the steady, streaming, haphazard paths of the rain droplets that fell. Eyes settled on the grounds below. 

How still…

Like a blade in her chest twisting, the blood burbling with every pulse from every steady turn as her heart tore in two… When would the pain end? He feared her. She could see it in him nearly every time their eyes locked. His gaze faltered. He was broken. She knew. She knew. The countless times she left him breathless, chest heaving, expression of abject horror… 

His smile touched her like nothing else could, warm and infectious. Her lover’s gaze like a deep green pool, she could swim in it, lose herself. But that had been no more for years. As the Darkness she worked hard to conceal a majority of her lifetime consumed her, those things about him began to fade. When he would smile, it was brief, as though his reality had dawned upon him. On occasion, she’d walk into their quarters, finding him ill and in tears. He’d drag his sleeve across his cheek and carry on. Her Flame had been dying.

The Dark Queen’s reflections took her to wandering out onto the fields beyond the castle’s fortified walls and cast-iron gates. When she realized where she'd been led, she looked down to the powdered ground and the trail she left behind her. The hem of her gown had clumped with snow. She turned her head up to the sky, grey and low, light, and drifting. A clean, damp breath filled her lungs.

• Availability: I have two regular roleplay going on, but I still have space for one or two more partners just to keep writing. I'm only interested in long-term and story-driven roleplay. I mentionned two partners above, I've been roleplaying with them for three years now, with only differences in timelines.

• Gender: Mainly play female, but I can play male side characters.

• Age: I'm 20+, I expect my partners to be around that too, just because I'd feel more comfortable.

• Seeking: First thing I'd like in a partner is commitment. It's been three years that I've been lurking at r/Roleplay and none of my partners had stayed long enough to create a real story. I understand that life can get in the way, or that things don't go as you expected, but the minimum is to talk about it rather than just disappear without a warning.

So discussing is also important. I don't mind OOC chat and I think it's even essential, so none of us gets bored in the story. If I just wanted to have things go the way I wanted, I would write my own stories. The whole magic of roleplaying is collaborating to shape something with more than one person. If a character annoys you, tell me, if you want more action, tell me. There's always a way to work things out.

And most of all, having fun. I love drama but it doesn't mean we can't have fun moments, inrp but also ooc. Like sending memes or images or YouTube videos, or pictures of your pets, that's the kind of thing I like. It's not mandatory but I think it would just be nice to have something else to talk about than just the story we make.

• Frequency: I'm doing an apprenticeship, which means I both study and work depending on the week. I'm usually available in the afternoon and throughout the night, and sometimes for rapid-fire roleplay I can answer during the day, depending of how much work I have. I've experienced many different settings, UA and originals, world building, D&D, Vampire Masquerade...

• Themes of Interest: I enjoy fantasy a lot, in a middle age or modern setting. Browny points if it can incude fairy tales (non Disney ones), legends, mythology...

I've poked around sci-fi but it's one of those cursed prompt where I never get a reply. I'd really like to at least have one roleplay with a setting like this. Slice of life can be boring to some people, but not to me. I don't understand how people can think a normal life is boring, tons of thing can happen without dragons or guns.

I'm a big fan of drama, angst, and all those feelings that comes with a well written story. The prompt and the setting don't even matter, drama can be anywhere. I want to feel like our character and possibly cry for them, or feel happy for them.

I love history so a historical prompt would be nice (think Renaissance) and I never got to play one either, but I would love too. Knights, nobles, peasants, kings and queens, poisons, politics, bring it all.

I'm neutral to survival/apocalypse kind of prompt because I've never tried them, not really a fan of zombies and all but if I find the right partner then maybe I'll actually enjoy it. Surprise me !

I understand if the scene doesn’t have alot going on and therefore requires less. I adore having long, thoughtful replies where we truly immerse ourselves in the world. I'm hoping to find a partner whose as enthusiastic and passionate about the plot and writing as I am. When I get invested in a story, it’s 100% dedication. I'm a big fan of romance and using face claims. I’m the type to make pinterest boards, spam you with gifs, headcanons, and send you songs that remind me of our characters and/or ship. Good morning, afternoon, and evening all you lovely people. You may call me Whimsy, Marshmallowmancer, or really anything you want as long as it's not some sort of slur or otherwise hurtful (be gentle, I am soft). I am a long-time RPer and I have recently renewed my search for that perfect partner who might be interested in dealing with my bi-polar ADD bullshit. I'm always glad to get new messages so by all means, shoot me a line if anything sounds interesting. The worst thing I'll do is not respond if I don't think we're a match, but please don't take offense, I'm extremely picky these days and I would really hate to waste your time as much as mine!

So without further ado:

Availability: ...what did I just say?

Gender: Trans female (she/her). I will only play female as my main character (right now I'm only playing my OC, Brienne, who is either trans or transformed m2f), but I am able to play both genders easily enough in the case of secondary characters.

Age: Older than 30. I will only RP with 18+.

Seeking: I am looking for someone who loves the idea of creating their own world (even if it's just a version of the one we already live in), their own characters, and just generally telling our story rather than someone else's. I played a lot of RPGs like Final Fantasy and Phantasy Star and the like growing up, but as I've gotten older, I've realized I have less and less patience for living in someone else's world with their stories. Perhaps it's my ADD, but I just can't get into other people's stories as much and I crave the chance to have agency in who I am and what happens. Writing and RPing is the only way for me to do that!

At the same time, I am looking for someone who is available. I understand there will be days, and even longer, where we can't RP, maybe can't even get word to one another. But I would like someone who, on the norm, can post every day, multiple times a day, and is available, at times, for rapid-fire posting. I'll post my availability below, because hey, I have a life too, but I'd like there to be times where we can just immerse ourselves in the world and the characters we've created. It's hard to do that when you're only posting once every other day...

I'd also like someone who writes detailed and somewhat carefully. I'm actually fine with quantity over quality...to a degree. Your language should show you care about what we're creating. It doesn't all need to be Shakespeare. Sometimes I write some pretty "whatever" posts too. You have to. You'll drive yourself nuts trying to create a masterpiece with every keystroke. But I want to be able to tell that you care. I want you to care about description, I want you to care about making a scene come alive. I don't want a script, I want prose. Tell me what your character is doing when they speak, how they're speaking, not just what they're saying. Help me describe the world, the weather. If my character visits your character's room, take the initiative to tell me what their room looks like. Things like that. Like I said before, I want to immerse myself in our worlds, and while imagination can go a long way, sometimes it's nice to get a little boost.

On the same note, I need you to be...I guess the term in the community is "literate," though I personally am not a huge fan of that term since it's pretty much the baseline requirement for being able to read and write. I just want you to have the basics of writing down - punctuation, grammar, spelling. I'm tolerant of errors, but if every other word is misspelled and there's no punctuation whatever? Again, it's hard to get immersed when I'm spending most of my brain power just deciphering what I'm reading. So make sure your prose is clean.

All that being said, I'm pretty tolerant. It sounds like I have a lot of requirements, but I'm not going to be a grammar nazi. I'm not going to judge you or nitpick everything you write - hell, I'm not even going to correct you unless you ask. As I said multiple times, I just want to create together and I want to make sure we're compatible. All manner of people RP and I'm so happy that some people who aren't Writers-with-a-capital-W get the chance to enjoy this medium. I'm picky because I know I can't give my best when I'm not compatible with a partner. Again, I don't want to waste either of our time.

While I am able to RP F/F, I am currently looking for people to play exclusively M/F with me (with my character the female, see below). I have a few excellent, amazing ladies that I have been enjoying F/F pairings with and I would like more M/F for some variety.

Frequency: I'll combine this with "Timezone" because I feel like they're relevant.

I'm PST timezone, but I'm awake at very weird hours. I tend to stay up and get up late (I work second shift currently). Unfortunately that does cause problems since PST is the "earliest" of the US timezones. I'm not going to sit here and say "nightowls need only apply," but it would be nice if our schedules aligned somewhat. That being said, I often make an effort to post during the day at work (not always possible of course, but RPing is a very high priority in my life currently, so I make time when I can), and I would appreciate if you could do the same.

Medium: Discord ONLY. It's a wonderful medium for RPing, allowing you to keep multiple channels for OOC banter, character sheets, reference information, etc. I honestly forgot how I got by without it. It's just so convenient.

That being said, I might be able to make exceptions if I find the right partner. Feel free, if you feel like we're a good match, to suggest Kik or GDocs or Messenger or whatever and we can discuss. But seriously. Try Discord. It's great.

Writing Style: I can and do write everything. Third person comes most naturally to me, but I actually find first person to be an engaging and interesting style for RPing, particularly NSFW RPs where you really want to get into the scene (*eyebrow waggle*).

Probably safest to just say third-person here since it's what I default to, but yeah, I'm flexible and will match my partner. The only thing I ask is that it's consistent. I won't switch between posts and I don't want you to either.

Roleplay Background: Old-school. I've been RPing for more than 20 years across multiple platforms - tabletop, LARP, open chatrooms, IM. By far my favorite has been one-on-one IMing. I used to really enjoy the open chatrooms, but I haven't really found one to pique my interest for, like, 20 years since WBS closed down.

Anyways, the short answer is I've been RPing for a long, long time. I've also been, at various points in my adult, professional life a writer, editor, and writing teacher, so I consider myself a very experienced, competent writer as well as RPer.

Original Universes Y/N: While I do enjoy telling our own stories in preexisting universe, and I'm willing to work out such details with someone who feels very strongly about doing fandom RPs (my longest-running RP to date is a retelling of Sailor Moon with all original characters, so I'm both familiar and comfortable with that method of RPing), I very much prefer telling original stories with original characters in original settings. I just having more creative freedom with the setting than fandom RPs sometimes allow.

I will not RP a fandom character except possibly very rarely as a minor, secondary character. I feel very strongly about playing my own characters in an RP. I might be able to play opposite a fandom character (particularly if they're not the primary character), but I would prefer OCxOC.

Themes of Interest: The primary themes I like to play with involve gender and how society views it, particularly through the lens of transformation/transitioning. As I mentioned before, I'm trans, and RPing has been a huge boon for me over the years to work through my often confusing feelings and desires. While I will admit there is a sexual tinge to these themes (I enjoy a good TG smut RP as much as the next gal...there's something about a guy suddenly getting used to sex with female sex organs that's just kinda kinky), there is far more to it for me, personally. I love playing a character adapting to their new normal and how society reacts to them differently and how their perception of self changes. There will always be an element of gender transformation, usually willing and not forced, in any RPs I do.

I also enjoy similar themes of transformation and change and how a character adapts to their new reality. I like characters being transformed into anthro furries, or even actual animals (though only temporarily in the later's case), particularly when coupled with the aforementioned gender transformation.

Theme Blacklist and/or limits: (ugh, in retrospect this section is becoming "things most people consider reprehensible but I'm willing to deal with...but whatever)

It's hard to say in the moment what I won't do, but I will list a few hard no's from me. I won't pass judgment on people who are into these things, but I'd rather you kept these elements and themes far away from me.

These hard-no elements include incest, vore, inflation, toilet play (and just generally other dirty things...I'm kind of fastidious), and similar themes. You'll notice the absence of things like horror elements, gore, and rape/non-con here. While I don't necessarily like RPs that glorify and revel in these things, I do like them as tools in a writer's workbelt, so I'm fine including them. I do ask that I get some warning ahead of time if they're being included, however. Just for my own peace of mind.

I also am not against cursing or slurs being used, as long as those slurs do not represent the ideals of the person I'm RPing with. A large part of being transgender, which I love to explore in my RPs, is dealing with people who violently do not understand my reality. It would be unrealistic for my characters to simply be welcome with open arms (unless it was a, frankly, far more open-minded setting than the one we live in now). As long as you yourself are not racist, sexist, transmisogynistic, etc., then I don't have a problem dealing with these difficult concepts in an RP...though my characters may need extra cuddles for having dealt with them :P

I also will not do identity death or any other theme that removes a character's perception or consciousness. This is a theme that sometimes goes hand-in-hand with transformations and TG, but I don't like it. I could go into this for pages and pages, but simply stated it removes all the fun of those transformative elements by changing the character's perception of the transformation. Half the fun is watching them adapt to it and if they're simply forced to adapt it's just...not fun.

Misc: I'm really very open and helpful. I know all of this sounds very severe and specific, even demanding, but I try not to be that way. The worst I will do is simply stop RPing with someone with whom I feel I am not a good match, but I will never be rude or unkind to you unless met with rudeness or unkindness myself. Be nice and I will be nice in turn.

It also behooves me to state simply that my mental state is in constant flux. I am usually down to RP at any time...but sometimes I'm down or depressed or having a nasty flare up of ADD (I am medicated and it seems to help, but sometimes I run out of pills or can't take any for whatever reason) and there might be some times that I seem less verbose, listless, maybe even disinterested or cold, and I won't always recognize it in the moment or being capable of talking about it to apologize. Please know that if I am RPing with you, I want to be RPing with you and if the problem is you, I will do my damndest to say something. If it really bothers you, I will not be offended if you ask. Just know that I don't mean it personally. It's just my bad, broken brain being bad and broken and I love you all!

The last section is for writing samples...but I think I've written enough. If you really, really want to see examples of my writing, I can provide them, but most of my RPs are very personal, and a lot of the samples I have in my actual portfolio are professional journalism and less than interesting to read. If you want to give me a prompt and have me write a short reply just to test my writing chops, I would be more than willing to do that, but part of my problem as a writer is it's hard for me to write unprompted (stupid bad, broken brain), so I will just end here by saying I look forward to meeting a lot of excellent, interesting characters!

Age: I'm certainly over 18, being 32, and depending on what kind of story we decide on being +18 would certainly make sense. At the same time I don't really expect people under 18 to wan't to roleplay with me online.

Seeking: Like most people here I would like to find someone, who I can literally spar and make a story with. Hence I won't say anything about you skills in writing, but of course I expect you to be able to at least write as well as me, since I'm not even a native English speaker. How to showcase?

How do I most optimally show a test of my writing skills? I ponder as I am sipping my coffee and opening Spotify to look through my playlist to find and OST to get into the mood. After briefly having skimmed through my playlist I end up with choosing Sparkle - Movie Version, from Your Name. Somehow Makoto Shinkai’s movies always make me wonder and feel an urge to write. I open up the gdoc I am writing in and start typing. “How to showcase?” I decide on for a title. After which I begin to write about what I’m doing while doing it.

“Why would you decide on such a meta topic for your showcase?” you ask me sitting across the desk, while looking up from your own laptop. “I just thought it might be a good way to show others how I would write.” I keep on typing while answering you. “Don’t you think it’s a smart way doing it? You give me that kind of look, where you don’t move your head and only turn your eyes upward, giving of the feeling of me just being to satisfied with myself. I might be, but nonetheless I think it was pretty smart. Only problem is that it only showcase me writing in 1st person view.

Misc: A couple of things I thought I should mention: to further contextualize my limited experience, I have only ever "doubled" (I think that's the term) and written POVs for more or less specific sets of characters (i.e. Main POV character, Love Interest, various side characters, and so on). I mention this just to give a little more detail on what I'm familiar with. Also, I've seen on a lot of posts where people talk about chatting outside of the roleplay itself. I just wanted to note here that that's completely fine with me, and in fact I would prefer to! I usually end up wanting to clarify the plot/scene, chat about the characters, and occasionally poke fun at the characters (especially my own).
