Help please god I have amouse and I can't catch him to clean his cage

Okay so for context i've had small rodents as pets in the past. I cannot catch this guy with my hand to transfer him to a temporary habitat at so I can clean his. Cage. He has been in his own p and poop for a month. The first few months we put a sock in there and he used to just climb in the sock. I would pick up the socks and put him in excessive ball. And clean the cage. But this month....nope. and I can't catch him! What do i do? I had a hamster and it would just crawl into the exercise ball , no issue. But I can't catch this little guy. This little mouse with my hand or get him into the ball or scoop him at all help! I don't want him to die from his own ammonia and piss.

Advice- Ants in gerbil cage.

Hi all. I have never had this issue before with my hamsters, Guinea pigs, rabbits and ferrets. Recently got two adorable gerbils. I recently added some hay to their enclosure (yesterday) and this morning there was a trail of ants going into their habitat.

The ants were not in the food upon inspection but they were all up in the bedding and hay. I’ve never had ants do this with my previous fur babies. I just threw out the bedding and hay. I washed down their habitat and the area I had them in. Any thoughts as to what is attracting the ants?

Placing some ant baits later and moving them to a different location in my room. I’ll probably add some Vaseline around the bottom of the habitat as well. Keep it difficult to climb into.
