Launch Window ?

Hi all, quick question here, is there an average time rockets launch once they see the window?

My flight lands in Orlando at 435p and I see the window opens up at 524p.... so will I have time to book it to the coast or should I just drop the extra cash and get an earlier flight?

Im on the trip for golf but was seeking to catch my first rocket launch. Was hoping a launch would pop up on thurs or friday lol

June 1 Vandenburg Launch

Based on this site which seems to be reliable, there will be a launch on June 1st at Vandenberg. I’d love to go see it (I’m in Utah)

https://www.rocketlaunch.live/launch/transporter-11

Couple questions……

  1. Any way to know what time it will be?
  2. Any way to know where it will be launched from exactly?
  3. Will there be a booster landing as well?

TIA ✌🏼

Space X launch tonight from Vandenberg! Just after sunset!

Copied from launch alert!

If it goes off on time it should be one of those spectacular ones!

The time for this evening's (April 5) Falcon 9 launch from Vandenberg SFB is 7:31 to 11:25 p.m. PDT.

For countdown status and video feeds of the launch, go to:

Space X launch tonight 🚀- 7:30pm Vandenburg

Looks like it could be another spectacular launch like the on last week!

Copied from launch alert

“A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. tomorrow evening (March 28). The vehicle is slated to leave south base between 7:30 and 11:24 p.m. PDT and carry 22 Starlink satellites into orbit.

If the vehicle lifts off early in the launch window, a large portion of the southwestern U.S. and northwest Mexico could be treated to an interesting display as the rocket's exhaust is illuminated by the Sun at high altitude while suspended against a dusk or night sky.”

March 21st SpaceX Launch Canaveral

Wondering how busy and how early we’d have to get to Playalinda to see the 4:55pm launch. Our flight gets in just after 1 to Orlando and we’d like to catch the launch as we’ve never seen one. Also, any other best spots if we can’t make playalinda in time?

Rocket launch or UFO?

We were at a restaurant in Terlingua, TX outside Big Bend National Park when we saw this overhead. You can’t see from the video but it seemed to me like bay doors opened just before the plume of smoke and light escaped. I didn’t see or hear any TV if like a rocket escape, but that sounds like a reasonable explanation.

Is this typical of an in-air launch? Or something otherworldly lol?

Starlink 6-44

Hello. I am in Orlando for a week and really want to witness a launch. I see on various sites that starlink 6-44 will launch tomorrow 13.03 at an estimated time of 7:29 PM local time. How accurate is that launch time, and what are the odds of the launch at all?

How close can you get, and where are some good viewing locations?

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

In advance, thanks Marius

How far in advance are launches usually confirmed at Cape Canaveral?

I’ll be in Orlando from 27th Mar - 6th Apr on vacation and starting to plan our itinerary. I appreciate things can change up to the last minute, but I’ve seen various websites all with different dates - is there a trusted single source of truth anywhere?

Thanks

Seeing a launch at Vandenberg

Hi all,

My wife and I want to do a combined trip to see her family in southern California and to see a rocket launch at Vandenberg.

I see that there is a schedule of planned launches and was wondering how reliable that schedule is? Is it quite likely or have a last minute launch cancellation?

Does anyone know the good spots to see a launch? I've seen a map with locations shared in this post : https://www.reddit.com/r/rocketlaunches/s/WTBJRv3iqR
But I was wondering if there are some fan favorites among those sites?

Can we see the rocket lifting off and the boosters landing back? Do we need to be on site a very long time in advance?

Thanks!

Are some rockets louder or more dramatic than others?

I'm planning a trip to Florida and hoping to make a detour to see my first rocket launch. My dates are flexible. Are some rockets more dramatic and exciting, in terms of sight and sound? I'm guessing that the rockets termed "heavy" might be bigger and thus louder... is that the case?

Does Spacex try to launch at the beginning of the launch window?

So I have my family down in Florida for a vacation and have seen that a Falcon 9 is going up tomorrow night during a launch window of 7:52-12:23 in the evening. I have a couple young children and hanging out for 4 hours wouldn't be a wonderful experience. My question is does Spacex shoot for a 7;52 launch and can delay up to 4 hours and still launch or will it be a random time within that window? Maybe I'm also asking- What are the chances it'll go up within the first hour or so of the window?

My first long exposure!

I did this by overlaying four thirty second exposures because my camera only goes up to 30s and I don't have a remote trigger yet. The mission was the second launch of the doubleheader a few nights ago, Starlink Group 6-36.

Heavy Launch 28th Dec

Hi,

Thinking of driving up from West Palm, to take daughter to KSC for the launch on 28th.

Wondering how the $70 premium launch tickets work, if there is a scrub while viewing. Do you get a refund ?

If not, is best to just watch for free from the complex. Done that before, wondering if doing the close up premium launch is worth it, and more importantly do you get refund for a scrub ?

Thx !

Walked Out of My House to a Rocket Launch This Morning

Walked out of my front door in San Carlos, CA, and saw a strange contrail and rocket lighting up the morning sky looking S-SW. Looks like I just caught one of the upper stages. I would assume whatever it is came from Vandenberg AFB down south, but they don't have anything on their launch calendar for today. Any ideas?
