Suggestions on obtaining tickets to the October 10th launch

I have a brother with autism, and he absolutely loves watching rocket launches. I took him to Kennedy Space Center last year when there was supposed to be a launch, but it was cancelled. We will be there around Oct 10th. I tried to get tickets but they sold out too fast. I called Kennedy Space Center and the lady said most are reserved for NASA and there would NEVER be any tickets on third party sites.

Any suggestions on getting tickets?

Europa

What are the odds that the Falcon Heavy Europa launches as scheduled on October 10th? I’m wondering at what point you know whether or not it’s likely to happen or at what point they may delay it. Is there a certain likelihood? Have a friend trying to go see the launch.

There is a launch from Kennedy Space on September 1st at 3:38am. I’m on vacation about an hour away to the north but really wanna see it. What’s the best game plan?

I’m near Daytona but am willing to drive down. Would other people be there watching? Is there a public place? Very first time and have never seen a rocket launch. May bring my kid depending on if she (7) can get out of bed.

Was There a Launch Last Night?

I watched the countdown until 1 AM and there didn't seem to be a launch. Why would they have had a countdown if no launch? This has happened before. It will say "launched" and then they come back later and put more time on the countdown. Is that what happened?

Vandenberg launch viewing

Do my best to get out to this awesome viewing area just a few blocks from my apartment in South Pasadena to watch as many launches as I can from Vandenburg. We also have a place down on the beach in between Rosarito and Ensenada and Baja. It’s far away from any lights so it gets really dark out there and I often wonder if it’s possible to observe the launches from so far South. I don’t have specific coordinates but it’s about 55 km south of the border, right above the beach and very well shielded from light pollution. Anyone??

Cape Canaveral launch times

I’m on vacation from the U.K. and was hoping to catch a rocket launch but all the upcoming ones seem to be showing launch times really early in the morning (e.g 3am). Is this typical? If so I may miss my chance as it’s still a couple hours drive from where we’re staying.

Aug 16 SpaceX Vandenberg Qs

Hi there I am interested to take my 3yo to watch the 8/16 11:19am SpaceX Vandenberg launch. I came across some useful Q&A threads here, hoping y’all might have some info to share:

-latest info I see in Space Launch Now app has date and time of launch, but a To Be Confirmed note. I know they can back out at any time, but would you estimate decent probability launch moves forward? -initial plan for a spot is as far as we can get down ocean ave. Would you recommend any spots up in the hills where you can better see the action on launch pad from above? -how loud should I be prepared for it to be? Little guy has some sound sensitivity so thinking about how hard I insist he wears his noise canceling headset. -it’s a weekday, but Friday in the summer after some time without many launches. Any estimates on crowd I could anticipate?

Advice for a tool that syncs rocket launch events to calendar

Hey there,

I'm building a tool that imports rocket launch events into your calendar.

I prefer using my Gmail calendar to keep everything in one place, which helps me plan my life around events I don't want to miss. To save myself from adding manual entries, I built a tool that allows me to sync rocket launches and some sports events to my calendar and automatically updates it in case of changes.

Would love to know what y'all think. Here is the current version: https://sync2cal.com.

Thank you! :)

Rocket launches in CA

Dear all,

My son who is 4 wants to see rocket launch / rockets etc. and we live in Cupertino, California. Is there a place in California (or somewhere closer) where I can take him to see how a rocket looks etc.

Is this a good rocket launch to see in person? - Vandenberg

Falcon 9 • Starlink 9-3 is scheduled on July 10th. I plan to drive 4 hours from Bay Area with my son to see this in person, couple of questions:

  • is this a big enough rocket to experience the sonic boom?
  • when and where to check if the launch is going as planned. Is it confirmed barring exceptional circumstances at least 6 hours before launch?

Questions about viewing Starlink launch on July 3

I'm currently visiting Cape Canaveral and hoping to view the Starlink Group 8-9 launch at 2:01am on July 3. Thanks to Reddit, I found Ben Cooper's Launch Viewing Guide, and the NSF forums, which both contained a lot of useful information. I'm planning to head to Banana River Bridge to view the launch. I have a few more questions which I couldn't find the answers to online.

  • Since the launch is at 2am, I assume that the site won't be busy, and I can just show up 15 minutes before the launch and easily find a good spot to park and view the launch. Is that right?
  • I believe the booster will be landing on ASOG. Will I be able to see any part of the booster returning?
  • Before I head out, and in the minutes/seconds before the launch, what's the best way to get real time updates (in case of any delays, etc.)? Should I just find any YouTube livestream?

Previously, and any ideas?

I used to watch various companies & few nations do their launches regularly & I would learn random information about launches meanwhile.

I lost the links to where I could so this. or the where I would keep up with what launches be next.

Any help? I want to make it a routine to watch launches regularly again.

I will figure out the regaining the knowledge bit unless anyone knows how to do that aswell.

Chance of scrub for 6/25 Falcon Heavy launch

I'm thinking about going to KSC to see the GOES-U but I'm concerned that there's a high scrub chance and it may not be worth the trip. From the weather forecasts it seems like there's going to be rain and thunderstorms all around the launch time. How bad does the weather have to be to scrub and what are the chances of it actually scrubbing at this point? I'm having trouble finding info on this.

June 25th GOES-U launch

Any idea on what configuration the June 25 GOES-U launch will be? Will the boosters return to launch site or land on drone ships?

We're trying to put together a viewing trip and we really want to see them landing(ie Jetty Park), but if they're going on the barge then we'll watch from the north side (Playalinda) instead where we get a better view of the launch site

Was there a launch other than SpaceX on Friday, 5/31?

My gf and I were in Joshua Tree, California on Friday, 5/31. Just after 21:00 PDT she noticed what looked like a second stage firing.

The only public launch I can find is the SpaceX mission from Florida, which happened at 19:37 EDT (16:37 PDT).

Alternatively, if this doesn't look like a rocket to y'all, would be curious if anyone has ideas as to what it might be.

Here's a photo of it.

And, here's a brief video.

Can someone explain what these bright orange “chasers” as I would call them are?

The lower trailing “chaser” dropped off and followed about 7-8 seconds prior to the other two which I would assume are the boosters falling off. I’m clearly pretty green, haven’t dug deep and just fortunate to live close enough to see this from my driveway.
