There was a post here last week asking about the late night train horns. Dart has posted an update explaining that it was a freight train, and that this should not happen again. Silver line testing during the day will continue to use the horn until it goes into revenue service.
I try and go see a movie every Tuesday, usually at the Cinemark on Legacy for the $6 tickets. If anyone wants to join me/form a weekly watch group hit me up.

Why is the city zoning new car lots and body shops downtown? Why are they doing this despite nearby business objections? Why are they doing this when local business finally gets a foot hold?
This is insanity.

Hey everyone, I'll start this off by being completely honest: I'm in a really bad spot and desperately need help.
I moved to the area back in March from PA, and landed my first job in May. Unfortunately I was blindsided and laid off back in mid August. I started a new job on Monday, but everything about it is terrible, with a 34 mile commute to boot. My wife is expecting, I'm over week behind on my car payment, and we were only able to pay half of our rent on the 1st.
I am FREAKING out with how rapidly things are falling apart and for some reason I'm having a really difficult time finding jobs that will actually call me for an interview. Unfortunately I don't have any connections down here for a referral or a good word to get my foot in the door. Is there anyone here that might have an opening at their job that can get me in? I live on the border of Plano and Richardson, I have 8 years of forklift experience (5 as a trainer), I was a QC inspector at a CNC shop at the job that laid me off, I've worked in bottled water manufacturing, cold storage, retail, and have some management experience. I'm an extremely fast learner and highly adaptable, I just need a chance at a fresh start.
TIA
Edit: i only accepted the new job with the commute because I was told I would get a company vehicle, only to find out 2 days later that I won't receive said vehicle for 3 months.
Hey all,
Living in Richardson in a pier and beam house? I want to hear from you. Looking in Heights area and would like to know if you have any issues with bugs or rodents or mold or anything else with being in this type of house.
Beautiful neighborhood but unsure what to expect.
doubt I'll get it back, but it's a blue rolex wallet with a decent amount of money in it - I'd love to have the money but it's 2024...just give me the wallet and my CDL license pls...
Hey guys! I moved here about 6 months ago and now that I'm set up, I've got a townhouse and a car and I'm financially stable I'm looking to get into new activities. I tried Tinder, Hinge, etc and it's a graveyard at least for me. I was hoping anyone had advice I'd love to make friends somehow besides work friends. People to play tennis with or go hiking with or to a farmers market or quite frankly literally anything. Tired of being alone! Thanks if you have any ideas :)
Hello! My partner and I were looking to buy personal care products, like shampoo, conditioner, soap, those sorts of things, from the UAE, We don't live in Richardson ourselves but drive there for markets/shopping for hard to find goods. Is there any local stores that sell these kinds of things? We have tried using Google plenty and have found many food markets and some with home goods, but haven't come across personal care items yet. Where could we go to find these things? Thank you for any help!
So last night around 1-2am (cant remember exactly) a train sounded like it was going back and forth between the Alma/Bush crossing and the 75/Plano Parkway crossing area and honking like crazy. I mean like non stop for an hour. Not sure if it was two trains or this one was just backing up and going forward over and over again because the honking kept moving back and forth.
Howdy folks, I've got a bit of a conundrum on my hands. There was an ancient pizza joint off of Arapaho, near Heights Park, that was an early adopter of the whole gluten-free thing, we're talking like 2008. I'm pretty sure it was in the same strip as The Peace Pipe (now Volume), in Camelot Shopping Center. Does anyone remember this place? Thanks!!
Hey! You guys should join r/dallasconcerts keep up with concerts in the area :)
Just curious if anyone has any insight or additional information on the upcoming zoning change request for the corner property at Belt Line & Grove. This is the 4 acre property where they just leveled the church, N side of Belt Line/ E side of Grove.
I know per COR online resources, they are wanting to rezone for a townhome development, and there is an upcoming hearing. I am mainly curious if anyone is privy to info regarding architectural style, price range, etc. I live in the area, and it would just be nice to know if there were drastic changes planned.
Always drive on Spring Valley or belt line to go back-and-forth for my warehouse and i cross 75 all the time at all different hours . RPD always has somebody pulled over or they’re waiting/lurking hidden in some places, but waiting for somebody to make a mistake/running tags😭😂. in some areas, they typically dropped a speed limit randomly from 45 to 35 to catch people lacking.
This is not anti-police post . But just trying to understand how and why it’s so over police compared to other neighborhoods/cities.
I mean, overall there’s typically on average 4 to 6 officers working An area that’s about 3 to 4 miles
Anyone know any good rated apartments with covered parking/garage?
Hi, I was wondering what the best pizza places are here. I'd like to stop getting Papa Johns and Dominos.
Anybody have any recommendations on who I could call about installing a television antenna?
Hi, One of my friends is looking for accommodation and she is looking near to the Cityline. If you have any opportunities then please dm!
Looking to get my timing belt changed on my car for routine maintenance, my trusty Toyota has made it past 200k miles. Anywhere you suggest in the area that is honest and fair, does a quality job? TIA :)
This is pretty random but I'm having a real hard time finding people who actually want to do this. I am looking for a group of people into comedy that want to start a YouTube channel for sketch comedy. We can also do shorts for other platforms as well. I can act, write, compose music, work a camera (okayish), edit video and more. I have two decent cameras to get things filmed and a drone. (Black Magic Pocket 4k, Go Pro and Mavic Air.). I have two great editing computers as well as Final Cut and tons of assets for production. Some similar type shows I would take inspiration from are I Think You Should Leave, Upright Citizens Brigade, In Living Color, Mad TV, Mr. Show, Chapelle Show, SNL, Comedy Bang Bang, Tim and Eric, The Dana Carvey Show, Trailer Park Boys and others. Just giving some ideas of what to expect.
I am looking to build a team of people who would like to meet 2/3 times a month and make this happen filming wise. We can write and do prep work over zoom or something similar. Just to be upfront and honest, this would not be a situation where you show up and look pretty and everyone else does all the work. It would be a group effort where everyone helps out in various ways. Ideally we can make a solid channel and make some profits but to start we will be very much dependent on what those involved bring to the table. That means, locations, props, ideas, promotion, etc. I'm not trying to run anyone off, I just want to be clear what is involved.
To start maybe we could all meet up in public at a pub or something and just see if we click. Maybe this was totally the wrong place for this but I've honestly tried all over and it hasn't happened yet. Let's make some comedy! Or let's fail and go viral for sucking! Haha
Please comment below or message me if you think this might be something you are into.
Hi I’m looking for a car and I’m kinda new in USA so any of you guys know any dealership?
My credit score is 700, 1.5k down payment. I want to pay 250$ a month for payment. Can you guys suggest me dealerships around Richardson&Addison&Garland? Thank you so much
Just got hit with this public safety alert for right around the Spring Valley 75 corner but can’t find anything on it. Figured Reddit was the next best place to ask. Does anyone know what’s happening?
I am curious to know if anyone who’s lived there recently has anything to say about the quality of it? I’ve seen a few positives on here but some anecdotal experiences may help me decide. THANKS!
I saw the really helpful general dentist recs in this sub so, after being quoted an outrageous seeming price for a consult & the procedure itself from the office I was referred to by my current dentist, was just wondering if anyone has recs for endodontists that don't feel like they're taking total advantage of needing corrective work on a previously not well done root canal in need of re-treatment fairly soon? TIA!
These days, I have discovered that the way one could be happy is by giving to the society and that feeling of being a contributing member of value creates a certain level of Solace to a person like me. Any one has any recommendations? I'd really appreciate it.
Hello,
I'm moving to the Richardson area soon and would appreciate some advice. I'm considering purchasing a car but come from a city where cycling is common. Is Richardson safe for cyclists, and are public transportation options reliable? Additionally, what are the safest neighborhoods to live in, and what potential pitfalls should I be aware of when moving to the area?
Thank you for your help!
I’m interested in joining a team in a men’s rec basketball league but I’m having a hard time finding a league I can join especially with most leagues having an age minimum of 21. Can anyone help ?
Came across this puppy while walking in Sherrill Park. This nice family has been taking care of it a few days now. Has a collar but no tag. If this is your missing dog or you know the owner comment or dm and I'll dm you their address. Pictures in the following link
