After struggling with public school for a while and recently being diagnosed with autism, my daughter recently started a new private school in Richardson. Since moving schools she has blossomed. She is doing so much better. I however am not.
I now have to drive her from McKinney for her school 9-2pm M-F. I work remotely which makes this possible, but I’m struggling to find a place I can reliably go to. I’ve tried lots of coffee shops, but they’re unreliable. Usually the power outlets are all taken. Also, I have to take video calls and do recording and such, so I can’t really do that sort of thing in public.
I’ve checked out several co-working places, but their offices are too expensive. All my money is going to my kid’s tuition. Hot desks and day passes are so expensive and still make recording difficult. I’m not sure what to do. Working out of my car is nearly impossible.
Is there an option I’m not thinking of? I’d literally work out of a vacant building as long as it has electricity and air conditioning.
Renter beware. The Belt + Main apartments in Richardson are not ethically run.
Moved to Dallas from out of state. Connected with Belt + Main in July to confirm they are taking renters and applications. They took our deposits and said they were having their first move in group mid August and we needed to move late August. No problem.
Fast forward to mid August and we are preparing for a x-country move. They start pushing back move in date due to last minute opening issues. Okay no big deal. We plan to move over Labor Day. We have a pod and confirm we can park on site. They say we can absolutely move in Tuesday after Labor Day. Got a call while on the road that won’t be able to happen. Now we are scrambling for a hotel.
We go to visit because we need somewhere to park our pod. They swear up and down we are good to move in that first Friday in September. So we bite the bullet on a hotel and they said they would pay. Our stuff is all parked in their parking lot. So we kinda have to.
Fast forward and TLDR we spend almost three weeks in a hotel (with a dog — this was a huge life upheaval) because they keep jerking us around saying they can’t open due to little things. No communication. Lies. False promises. They said they’d pay for hotel coverage no problem. Refused to put anything in writing.
We finally got fed up and signed a lease somewhere else. We were out time and tons of money because we trusted these people and they kept filling us with false promises. Yes before anyone comes at me our bad for trusting but they put us in a shitty situation
On top of that they went back on their word and refused to pay for hotel. They lost a ton of our mail. And they are still charging us for power in a unit we never lived in (working with the power company on this but still)
If you are considering living there think twice. Poorly run Greystar property. Don’t let out thousands of dollars mistake happen to you.
Anybody know what happened to Kebab and Kurry? They were closed for repairs, but now they sign is gone and a for lease banner is up. That restaurant was a Richardson institution!
Anyone know what's going on?
The construction at Coit and George Bush has gotten completely out of control. I have been trying to cross George Bush at Coit since 7:21 in the morning it is 7:43 in the morning and I haven't crossed Frankfort yet that's 22 minutes to travel less than a football field
My house off of Yale/Villanova. But it didn’t have a search light on. It circled for like 10 mins. Huh
Will take medium and small load of thrash to dump for a fee cam do large loads depending on how much
Currently alma Rd and Collins Blvd are not connected directly.but through a convoluted route through Renner Rd and Renner Pkwy.
1.Were they ever connected in past? 2.If it was done as a Traffic calming measure by City planners why was Custer not planned that way as well?
Asking old timers if they knew any history behind it please
Anyone around Duck Creek notice this guy? He was trying the doors on my cars at 3 in the morning.
Hello! I will be taking a roadtrip to Richardson in November, any hotels yall recommend or don’t recommend? Also is there any particular places that we should not go to?
Thank you for your time!
Looking to get some jeans and chinos hemmed. Possibly a suit tailored also.
Is there any place in the dfw area to get private/ group archery lessons? I know there was texas archery academy but it seems like they shut down.
I’ve recently moved here and wondering if there’s any existing groups to play casual/non-competitive pickleball in Richardson? If not, I can create a WhatsApp group where people can regularly ask a pool of players in the DFW area and schedule games. Feel free to shoot me a DM and I can add you!
So the past week or so a guy has been sitting at the corner of the intersection holding a sign that says something about Iraq war veterans, Colin Allred and the use of the n-word with a hard R. I couldn’t make it out exactly or understand what point he’s trying to make. Anyone else see it? It’s bugging the hell out of me.

Hello everyone, me and my husband are looking at houses in the Richardson area. However, our realtor mentioned that Richardson has a lot of older homes with foundation problems. We moved here from Denver, CO, originally from FL, we did not know this was a big issue in TX. I just want some reassurance, this is an issue all over the state, and not just Richardson? Based on what I read, this is all over the state due to the clay soil. However, how my realtor mentioned it, she made it seem like it was Richardson, and then sent recommendations for Arlington and Flower Mound (we don’t like Arlington, and both homes were expensive. We qualify for them, but we are looking for cheaper options). I am aware that older homes are more prone to having these issues and we will be getting an inspector regardless of where we choose to buy. Is there a sinkhole under Richardson that I am unaware of or any particular reason as to why she would say this specifically for Richardson and not other areas?
Any suggestions and tips are appreciated! Thank you!!!
So....I bought an electric trike instead of getting into a car. Come to find, my apartment complex doesn't have a bike rack and won't allow me to keep it on property chained up to anything. I bought this to replace my car, and to put me on a path to losing weight and getting into a healthier lifestyle, and as current I have no way to use this thing. I need a place nearby, somewhere within walking distance to The Royal Arms Apartments that would be wiling to let me store just the trike, without the battery ( will be removing to charge it at home). I know this is a huge ask from a stranger, but if someone is willing to help I would like to work something out.
Please and thank you.
Hi! Planning to move to dallas and start going to utd starting Spring 2025 and I plan to rent an off-campus studio or a 1 bd. Is there anything that is below or around $900/month and relatively close by to campus?
I’d really appreciate any recommendations, suggestions, and advice. Thanks ☺️
Hi, I am a mother of 9 years old autistic. He has an interest in astronomy. I have no clue about how telescopes work, but I want to help him enjoy and learn how to use a telescope. He really loves it. We already have a vintage telescope. I am told to go to a telescope store. I looked up google map, and there is no telescope store anywhere. Is there a telescope store at all anywhere in DFW?
I used to love hanging out at ShadowLAN, but since they shut down, I’ve been at a loss. Does anyone know of any good spots in the area where I can get my League of Legends fix?
Thanks in advance!
Finally convinced my parents they need a will and to set up a trust. Any recommendations for reasonably priced attorneys in the area?
Is it me or has the frequency of helicoptor flyovers increased recently? I'm near the Garland border and I feel like I hear one every other night at least now.
