Just as the title says, do you guys know where to look for nice affordable bikes?
I moved to Reno a couple months ago so I’m not aware of all the possible choices, so far I’ve been to Reno Bike Project which I found interesting and also to the College Cyclery Reno Shop, but tbh that was a bit of a weird experience, staff were a bit unwelcoming and rude and just 10 seconds in, this man who apparently must be the owner, started off “kindly” asking what we were looking for but then went on talking about how online bike shops are putting them out of business. Tbh I understand if it upsets them having people come into their store and not buy anything, but asking for a commitment to buy before even touching a bike is kinda wild imo 💀 (also I would think people are completely free to eye/window shop).
So, leaving this experience aside, is there any other place you know or recommend?
I’m looking for a simple commute bike, preferably a non-electric gear bike but I’m up to look around and find the right one. I also like cruiser style a looot 🤩
Thanks in advance. 🙂↔️😇
btw, some of you were too nasty and ignorant in my last post, it’s not my fault you’re too narrow minded 🤡
I’m looking to start doing a little bit of maintenance for my forehead wrinkles as I’m getting a little older and would love some recommendations for a place that will do a nice job (NOT obviously frozen-face). Personal recommendations would be appreciated!
Over the holidays, I was in a very small town in central Wisconsin, and they had Spectrum News. It was kind of nice because it was national headlines mixed with regional coverage, minus the angry pontificating. I see Spectrum News advertised in our area, but, despite searching, I can’t figure out what channel it’s on or if we have access to it at all. Does anyone know anything about this? My mom absolutely hates watching the news anymore but did like watching Spectrum News while we were visiting.
So I now live midtown but when I first moved to Reno I had a spot literally across from the river on 1st street. I was born and raised by an ocean city and have always been a water baby. Basically, when did it become illegal to walk on the river at night? Why did they start taking people’s pictures and announcing that the river is a restricted area?
It all seems weird to me but something bad must’ve happened to the point where the camera shit started happening.
Can anyone let me know?
Hey guys, I’m looking for affordable professional photographers for a pregnancy announcement. Prefer it to be for either this month or March. If you worked with them and don’t mind sharing their pricing, please DM me. I want to get a feel for how much I should set aside for this, as I have no idea.
It would greatly help if they also do professional headshots, as I’m also badly in need of one for my LinkedIn.
And also, any recommendations on the location? I obviously have Tahoe in mind, but any particular location there? I’m open to other places also.
Hello currently work at Winco does anyone know how much Reno pays?
Not what CostCo claims, but from the workers, what is starting and what is topout? Also, Walmart DC plays a game in claiming 45$+ because it's based on production very few can keep up with for more than a few years. I'm asking about pay for jobs that you can do for 10-15 years without destroying your back.
Screenshot from my dash cam. I recommend owning a dash cam if you live here, and this is why.
Anyone knows any good places to eat that are romantic but not in a fcing casino?
It would have been nice for them to give us a notice or something. I was just getting in the shower and the water goes off.
Discount Office Supply on W. 5th St. No affiliation just happy to see them still in business. I needed canned air to blow some dust out, cheaper than Staples, about the same price as Walmart. The guy who (I assume) owns it is always friendly, carries literally every conceivable office or school supply you could want. Support local!
I have a general contractor’s license in Utah, we were thinking to move to Reno, I lived in truckee for about 3 years and loved it. But haven’t been back for about 5 years now. Does anyone here have a construction company in Reno? Is the economy okay? Is it a good place to live? I build pools and everything you can think of outdoors, just wasn’t sure how the market is there.
I’ve been wanting to try out the discounted ladies day passes with ski lessons at Mt Rose on Thursdays but only have a 2WD sedan, so I’m not sure if I can bring my car up. Does anyone know if there’s any public transport going up to the resort on Thursdays?
Soon to be 28f looking for fun things to do either today and tomorrow with my partner. Really wanted seafood but I know good crab is nearly impossible to find this time of year. Only moved here a few months ago and I don’t know how to ski or snowboard (yet). Any recommendations for activities or restaurants?
Does anyone have spectrum mobile plan here in Reno? I would like to know how their coverage is like on the west coast because their map shows a lot of blank areas.
Thank you
If you could install protected bike lanes anywhere in the city, where would you build it?
I have been wanting some really good fried chicken any recommendations?
I haven’t seen this much cops everywhere for a while. Some just cruising around and some on the side of the road pulling people over (probably speeding).
Need ideas!
Hi everyone, I’d love to know what local businesses that are openly supportive to all ways of life. Like, the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants. Can we start a list? I’d like to give my hard earned dollars to those who support everyone equally. Ty.
My husband is currently in the process of hoping to become a firefighter. He’s in an EMS class and fire science class and will be a certified EMT in May.
He’s looking to apply to all local-ish (would be fine with some that are further like Carson or Douglas etc.) departments. I wanted to see if anyone had advice on getting started for entry level jobs or academies look like here and also what your schedule looks like? We’ve heard a lot of stations are 48 hours on and 96 off in general, but not sure about Reno or even Nevada. Thanks in advance!
We have a 2 week trip in March and our regular dog sitter had a recent change in plans and cannot watch our dogs. We would like to avoid boarding our dogs if possible and would love to have a dog/house sitter during our trip if possible. Do y'all have any recommendations? I can provide additional details as needed. Thanks!
I assume the answer will come from an accountant or knowledgeable person on taxes.
I just found out that the Columbia Store is leaving Summit Mall after they raised rent to $13,000 per month.
Why are commercial property owners so content on having vacant properties, sometimes for years? There are some prime properties around town that have been vacant for a decade or more.
I assume there are tax benefits to having some of your properties vacant. I just don't know what that is. I'm also super annoyed that a few of the stores I like are now gone and/or leaving.
Just wanted to say how cool reno looked from the air today with the storm rolling in before we got diverted back to LAX due to atc shutting down. Hope everyone is safe and that your roof doesn't start to fly off as a friend of mines has been doing
On our way back we found that he had obtained a trashcan to aid in his endeavor.
