I saw the post yesterday about maga businesses. Can we list small, LGBTQ+, and minority owned businesses here to support?
After all these years, I'm going to see Cirque du Soleil at Marymoor Park on Saturday night. Since I don't know any better, I bought VIP tickets, which claim "Site opens: 6:30pm, Concessions Opens 7:00pm." Show is at 8pm. I think I get access to a parking area with these tickets but I'm not feeling obligated to use that.
What's the best way to get to and from this event that does not involve a car or lots of walking? While picking up an Uber or Lyft to the venue seems pretty straightforward (am I wrong?), is it naive of me to think that's a reasonable way to get out? What are my options here? There are just two of us and neither of us wants to drive a car that night.
Also, what does "Concessions" mean at these shows? Is it a reasonable substitute for dinner? What's a good strategy for working food into the evening? Dinner before the show, or don't bother? I'm tentatively planning to get there around 7pm so we have time to do whatever we want to do before the show.
Is there anything else you wish you'd known about going to this before your first time that you'd care to share?
Thanks in advance.
I’m new to the area (been here about three months) and I’m looking to play D&D and meet some new people! Are there any meetups or teams that need another player? My last city had meetups at the local libraries where we would run a one-shot session twice a month. I’ve also been part of longer campaigns…can anyone point me in the right direction?
Struggling to Find a Part-Time Job—Any Advice?
Hey everyone, I’ve been searching for a part-time job since September, but I haven’t heard back from anywhere. I keep applying, at least once a month, but it feels like I’m getting nowhere.
A bit about my situation:
I’m wondering—is the job market just that competitive right now? Or am I doing something wrong? Any tips for finding income, even outside traditional part-time jobs? I really just need something to help with rent and school.
For those of you who’ve job-hunted recently, what was your experience like? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I was driving by an apartment building (close to the Microsoft One Esterra building) when I saw what seemed like two dogs without a leash.
I pointed it out to my wife but when we got closer we saw that it was a pair with what seemed like a very large black dog and a smaller cub behind it.
We are debating if it could have been a black wolf?
Other cities started MAGA boycott threads in Washington state like /r/Yakima (which sadly received more downvotes than replies).
I know this area is pretty blue, but I also know that if you spend several minutes on Nextdoor: it’s jarringly apparent that we have a larger contingent of Maga folks than I’d like.
So: are there any vocal MAGA Trump supporting businesses that I should be boycotting?
Got a call from PSE yesterday menttioning a planned power outage on February 5 at 9am near Ben rush elementary. Are other areas of Redmond getting these calls? Other nearby neighbors have not been called and no power for 6 hours in January sounds unnecessarily rough (it may be critical work I am just not informed).
I never used it (because there's a full Starbucks in the same shopping center), but I was in Safeway yesterday and they had several people remodeling the space where there used to be the Starbucks inside.
Not sure what it's being replaced with. More self checkouts? Another random spot for shelves? 🤷♂️ If anyone has the details, feel free to share.
Hey there Redmond! Just wanted to say hello and let you know that Higher Leaf is now open in the old Always Greener building next to Wendy's. If you haven't been in yet we'd love to see you and if you have been in and saw anything you think we could work on we're all ears.
Hello! I am planning to do the drive up to stevens pass saturday and was wondering what time I should leave to get there at opening (9am). They are also getting a lot of snow (bought chains just in case), so this should be factored into traffic/snow slowing things down.
I’m fine if it’s outdated but mainly looking for a safe area moving from seattle
8 years in Redmond—This is the worst apartment I’ve lived in
I’ve lived in multiple Downtown Redmond apartments for 8 years and have never experienced the level of negligence, safety risks, and privacy violations that I’ve encountered at Talisman Apartments.
This is not just bad management—this is outright dangerous. I have lived in Redmond for years, and I would strongly advise anyone looking for an apartment to AVOID this place at all costs.
A little late for monday updates but wanted to provide some news and events I found happening in Redmond. Hope you all like it and if you want more check out Headline or Seastside :)

Hello. My landlord (major apartment properties) offered me renewal options. However I had some concerns in dates:
I find it hard to commit 4 months before expiration of the lease. Is there any law that governs this in Redmond or king county?
Thanks!
