hello, i was a rp2 owner for about 2 years before it bricked, and a really cheap rp1 came up a few months ago so i went for it. my opinion of it is like, i would rather have a 2 but much better than any other phones
but in the last week, something has happened with the camera. any app that has camera access cannot take a photo, apart from the actual camera app. with instagram story it's like you aren't pressing the button, volume buttons do nothing but if i hold volume it takes a <1 second video which is obviously not ideal. i loved having always on flash for my camera on my last phone so i got an app to do it on this phone but when i try to take a photo with it now it crashes
secondly, is everyone actually serious that this phone uses only wpa1????? or whatever it's called?? i haven't been able to connect to a single wifi network during my ownership. is there like a driver update or something? very frustrating sometimes
thank you
My ribbon cable is broken.
Bought my RP2 September 25, 2019 for $400. Been using it every day since then. Never had charging port issues and never reformatted. The last ~3-6 months I've definitely encountered some weird throttling/slowdown especially while charging at low percentage, but nothing that made the phone infuriatingly unusable. Dolby atmos on this is amazing even to this day. Curious how many people had the weird bug that gives you a heart attack where it makes an extremely high pitched and loud noise for a split second. Other than that it's been incredible. With Android 9 being phased out of support for some major apps and the battery capacity starting to be difficult to manage, getting 4 years out of this was nice.
I went with the OnePlus 12 w/ 512gb. The emerald version is currently $665 so all things considered with inflation it's a little under $200 more expensive. Here's hoping I can get another 4 years out of it.
Adding a poll out of curiosity to see where people are moving next with a new phone. In an alternate dimension I definitely got a RP3 or 4.
I got a second hand RZ2 in 2021 as a main phone because I was on a budget and I feel im love the shape of it (I hate roumded screens and camera notches) Ive used it until one day in 2022 the power button got stuck. It was constantly shutting itself down and rebooting as the button was pressed. Fixed it for a few days with rubbing alcohol and fibreglass brush but then it got stuck again to the point of no return. No shops were willing to fix it due to no replacement parts available (would probably cost more than the phone itself)
I decided to buy a second RP2 right after which I'm using currently... Everything went well until recently when it was cold outside, one of the volume buttons got stuck down but I could press it after a few seconds again. I cleaned it regularly and today it happened, again, but completely stuck, cleaning didn't fix it but at least the phone isn't registering it as being pressed, I use the volume slider in settings and the option to take a screenshot appears when the power button is held down so I'm good for now but it may be a RIP soon 💀🙏
I thought the mic was broken but it's just muffled so bad, and the charging port broke once completely, both of those things happened when I made the mistake of having it in my pocket while it was raining. I still have the old phone with it's power button solid flat with the frame, I wonder if repair shops could salvage my current one and use the old for parts.
Hello ! so I own a Razer Phone 2. Im using PE13 as the rom. So I noticed that the Adreno Driver version on this phone is really really old. I've been trying to update the driver version through magisk using Adreno Drivers modules but for now nothing works it ended up on bootloop everytime. So any of you guys here knows any newer adreno driver version here that is at least better than what what this phone currently use?
Is the phone any *somewhat* usable? I know its old and stuck on Android 9, I can get one for $45 and it looks like a cool phone so I am wondering if its even worth the $45.
I'd try to resell it once I am done with it but idk how well will it go, there is a very tiny amount of RP2's in Serbia for sale (Currently 4 RP2's and 1 RP1)
So a friend gave me what I think is Razer phone 1. Looking at the paper that came with it just says "Razer phone" Anyway So said friend said that the phone was kinda forgotten and was left with them and he was trying to give way. I took it to take some bigger games off my phone. Come to find out it has a lock on it and the friend has no idea what it is.
I've been trying to find ways to get in to reset and or factory reset it but I'm having no luck. All the stuff I'm finding requires the Google account or unlocking then reset.
If anyone knows please let me know, still a really cool phone to have
Tl:DR I have a given phone from a friend that Is locked. Trying to factory reset or unlock to use it
Hello! I've been using Razer Phone 2 since last 2 years with my PORT BROKEN, and been using WIRELESS CHARGER for years. So do someone has a tricks to install like PIXEL EXPERIENCE without Root, PC and Unlocked Bootloader since my port is broken? Or there are some tips to ROOT this phone without PC or USB Debugging? PLEASE HELP ME, I don't have money for buying new phones since I'm a just a student who needs apps that unsupported in Android 9.
Thank you in advance! Please don't leave me empty. :'<
just curious if anybody knows of a wireless charger that charges quickly. mine anker charges at about 2.5-3w and it takes longer than before after putting in a new battery. any recommendations?
I’m on lineage 21, but I can’t get the game to open, it opens for about 5 second on the splash screen then instant closes I’ve tried to do some magisk modules to get it working but it just won’t open past that screen. Has anyone got it working?
Hi r/razerphone 😊
This is a bit of an unusual post I guess, but just wanted to reach out and see what you all think or know.
So this past week I was out on a hike with my Mum and had hopped behind the treeline in a section of the trail looking for a Geocache container. While scanning around the base of a tree I noticed the Razer logo on something on the ground, and initially ignored it figuring it must be an instruction booklet for a headset or something that someone had discarded like litter.
After a second look, though, I realised I could see the back of a phone due to spotting the camera lenses. So I picked it up, tried to clean it up a bit, and it appears to be a Razer Phone 1 in black (or maybe silver and black? The back is scratched up so not sure what the original colour is meant to have been).
This phone looks like it could have been out there in the bushes a decent while. It's a bit rusted / muddy, but the screen is uncracked though certainly water damaged from what I can gather. I cleaned out the charging port as best I could and around the power button, and plugging it in I can see it tries to draw charge, but may be stuck or faulting while booting as the screen lights up and then goes off again a few seconds later instead of anything happening. I think the digitiser in the screen must be broken due to water damage as it doesn't display anything even in the few seconds it's lit up.
So to cut my story a bit shorter - I have no means to locate the owner of this phone and have no idea how long it has been missing for. Can't get it to turn on or anything. Are repairs for these types of phones expensive? If say it needs a new screen and maybe new power button if that's tripping a boot loop, what's the ball park for that sort of thing? UK pricing would be helpful.
If it's going to be mega expensive I'll probably just post about finding it online and see if anyone claims it from that area, but otherwise I guess it's a very strange trinket from that particular hike.
Thanks in advance!
Decided to boot up the razer phone for the first time in a year sad to say it's gotten much much worse and it's slower and more unresponsive than ever I think the battery is cooked
Edit: Solved
Hey, does anyone happen to have a spare back camera lens I could buy off of you? I have a back glass, I'm just missing the glass window for covering the camera lens and flashlight(currently have a piece of cutout screen protector over the hole. I'm not sure if there are back glasses with non-removable lens but I am willing to buy that too. PLease send help ;-;.
The charging PCB on my Razer Phone 2 is disconnected from the USB-C port, meaning the flex cable is ripped. Is it possible to solder it back ? If yes, can a phone repair shop do it for me ?
Can I connect the black and red cables directly to my razer phone 2 battery then place the coil on a Qi charger and my phone battery will charge ? Or is this something else ? If this isn't it, can someone send me a link to somewhere I can buy something like that. Both the charging port and wireless charging coil on my RP2 have stopped working (yes I am aware of the weird placement of the coil), so I was wondering if I could use this to charge my battery.
The ribbon cable connecting the port to the PCB has been ripped from the port, only attached to the PCB .Can I fix it without replacing the entire PCB and port ?
Hello, i've been suffering on this problem on my Razer Phone 2. My game resolution is stretched.
My fix for this is to reset my Game Booster, but it's too tiring to do that.
Please help me.
so, as well all know, the theme store is dead.
BUT!
we have the dumps of all the themes!
awesome, right?! well, it would be...'cept that I, for the life of me, cannot figure out how to get everything working... I've tried drag and drop, I've tried adb on my PC... and nothing is working.
So, can anyone help me? please?
If you install a magsafe ring aligned with the wireless charging coil on the back of the phone, will a magsafe charger/power bank charge the phone ?
Hi everyone I am very interested in installing a alternate app store on my Verizon razer edge 5G gaming device because certain play to win and play to earn apps I've routinely liked using on a daily basis before I ever owned the Verizon razer edge 5G are oddly not available in the native Google play store app for the Verizon razer edge 5G gaming device so far so I am requesting strong fully up to date alternate app store suggestions to install on my Verizon razer edge 5G gaming device to help me install all my other desired apps that I am having trouble installing so far and provided tutorial videos and/or article links would be very much appreciated as well.
I look forward to this communities feedback very soon!
Hello, everyone
We are excited to announce our new community-driven project aimed at recreating and improving the charging port daughter board for the Razer Phone 2. The current daughter board has a known issue where it can tear or become damaged, rendering the charging port useless. Unfortunately, replacements are not available from the manufacturer. This has left many Razer Phone 2 users unable to charge their phones effectively.
Who We Are
We are a dedicated group with a solid background in creating repair devices for consoles. You can check out our previous work on Reddit or via our website rippedtraces.com We've had numerous requests from the community to tackle this specific issue, and we’re eager to help.
Our Plan
Our team will comprise both engineers and testers from the community, each playing a crucial role in the project's success.
Engineers
Roles: Engineers will handle the creation of pinouts and schematics.
Responsibilities: They will perform thorough testing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Equipment: Necessary equipment and materials will be provided to engineers for testing and prototyping.
Testers
Roles: Testers will be community members who provide essential feedback and suggestions.
Responsibilities:They will ensure the final product is robust, user-friendly, and meets community needs.
Equipment: Test units and necessary tools will be provided to testers for feedback and improvement.
Once completed, we will release the designs as an open-source project, allowing anyone in the community to benefit from our work and repair their phones.
Why We Need Your Help
Your support is crucial for several reasons:
Funding for Materials and Components:
Developing a high-quality replacement for the Razer Phone 2 charging port daughter board requires specific materials and components. Your donations will help us acquire these essential items.
Equipment for Testing and Prototyping: Engineers and testers need access to specialized tools and equipment to ensure the reliability and functionality of the new daughter board.
Shipping and Logistics: Sending prototypes and materials to team members for testing and feedback involves logistical costs.
Donation Target
To bring this project to life, we estimate needing between $250-300. This amount will cover the costs of building the PCB, acquiring all necessary components, and shipping units to engineers and testers for feedback and improvement.
Community Engagement
If you would like to become a tester or engineer within the project, please reach out to us here or via direct message. We are aiming to recruit 5+ engineers and 10+ testers to contribute their expertise and help us achieve our goals.
How You Can Help
Your donation, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference in our ability to successfully complete this project. Together, we can ensure that no one is left with an unusable phone due to a faulty charging port.
If you have any questions about the project or would like more information, please feel free to reach out to us here or via direct message.

So I am using my razer phone 2 to play game pass games (Fallout 4 now) but I noticed that I can't get 60 fps steadily. My phone is stock Android 9, with the better xcloud app i can enable the stats on screen, only gets 10 fps most of the time.
Anyone has tips to get the most of the razer phone (60 fps) or is time to keep it stored (don't use it daily needs a new battery and sim tray).
Also have a Red Magic 6s Pro and checked with the Kishi V1 (gets 60fps) but might damage the controller because it's to wide, need a V2 version.
I have my razer phone 2 still in great shape except the battery, what battery model you guys recomment me to purchase and hire a technician to replace the battery? As long as i could keep using in the amount of hours i used to i have no interest in a new phone since for my needs it worked perfectly except the duration
Asking for "research" and consideration purposes. 🤓 And by good condition, I mean no cracked or scratched screen, no charger port issues, you know, things like that. 😅😆
Note: Serious responses please. If you do not plan to add value and maturity to this discussion, I highly suggest you allocate your time and energy for something more meaningful. I do not have a problem with a joke or jab at the value of the Razer Phone 2, so long as you follow-up with a serious answer to the question. By responding properly, you are helping out others as well, so think about the community as a whole. 🐍
I bought the razer phone brand new and sold it, now I miss it so I'm wondering if anyone has one in pristine condition that would be willing to sell it to me.
Still on the Razer2 oem. Today I was hit with one of my bank apps no longer supporting the version of android I am on. Isn't end of the world I can use browser.
How safe is putting a newer custom rom with updated android on this thing? Id actually like to keep using it.
I have the ability to do a flash but have always feared what will be unuseable / vulnerable with a custom rom as I do everything from my phone and have a high level of trust with how it works now.
Installed the new version everything works really well. Until I started ppsspp, clips every few seconds its the same on PS2, it was fine on stock, I downgraded the android 14 version but the problem is still there any help world be appreciated
Hey guys new here, was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as me. I’ve gotten rp2 when it came out but switched to apple in 2022. So I just left it in the drawer until now. I charged it up and it wouldn’t connect to my wifi. Went to Walmart and McDonald’s and nothing. I factory reset the phone and now the wifi works but now the google play store, YouTube, chrome or any app just crashes when I try using it. Is there a way I can fix this?
Still have my RP2 with no issues. Will there be a way to run Android 15 on it once it release in June or what is the latest android OS version I can run on it?
