Not a real handy guy. How much babying is required?

You guys I just got a rebuild and I’m trying to figure out what is going on . Ever since I got it from the shop post rebuild the AT light and the 4th gear light stays on even when I shift it into M for Manual mode . It’s just all weird taking off is very sluggish , but don’t get me wrong it picks up speed so I don’t think it’s in limp . For anyone with knowledge please help.

I have a 2005 RX8 automatic. It’s been a fun but sometimes frustrating learning experience working on this car. The previous owners kept it in a damp garage for 4 years which resulted in a bit of rust under the car and a LOT of mouse nests.

I have cleaned out 6 mouse nests so far in various parts of the car. The smell has improved significantly, but there is one left in the HVAC assembly. I have had a bit of the dash apart and I’ve gotten a good chunk of it out but there’s still more. The smell is bearable until you turn on the heat, regardless of how hot the air is. This leads me to believe the remaining mouse nest is against the heater core.

I have tried many odor-eliminating strategies like those little disposable air purifiers as well as an entire ozone machine to no avail. I think as long as the nest is physically there, the smell will be too.

My strategy has turned to removing the heater core, but I’m making this post because I would like some advice, as I have not found a procedure on alldata or prodemand regarding the removal of the heater core or HVAC assembly. Should I just take it to a shop? Is there another method I have not thought of? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Is there a way to disable it? I want to have my 5 y o son ride shotgun. Initially I'm thinking remove a fuse maybe? What's odd is my 1999 Tacoma straight up has a place you put the key in to disable it on the console and my 2004 rx8 doesn't have an obvious way. Unless I'm missing something.

Hey guys i have an 03 rx8 and whenever i have ac on and take a hard right turn, water drips all over the passenger side footwell, i think ive located the issue. The bit circled seems to have separated and the seal of thin foam isnt enough to stop the water. Does anyone have any recommendations or just send it to a mec to get replaced? Thankyou

Appears to be an oil or tranny fluid leak? Help? Not a mechanic, but very meticulous about upkeeping my car and need to know if I should be worried.

I got my rx8 a couple weeks ago and after getting everything checked out im looking for inspiration on what mods i should do to the car. I want something that also has a function, whether it be weight or aero or things of the sort. any advice recommendations or ideas would be greatly appreciated 🙏😁
